Descrizione

Queer Yoga at the LA LGBT Center is a candlelit yoga class for queer and trans people in Los Angeles, held in The Village at the LA LGBT Center in Hollywood. It is offered in partnership with With Love Projects, a group that provides free, accessible wellness experiences for queer people across the city. Anyone can come, whatever their experience with yoga.

What to Expect

The class runs from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. It takes place in a cozy, candlelit room made for the community, and the invitation is simple: come as you are, move how you need. The practice is a flow in which you look for your own rhythm and your own breath, and for whatever you need that evening, whether that is strength, softness or a moment to pause.

The aim is a space where queer and trans folks can move, breathe and unwind together, without pressure to perform or keep up. The class is not framed around a particular lineage or style beyond that. It is a welcoming community yoga session with room to work at your own pace.

The Place

The class meets at the LA LGBT Center, 1125 N McCadden Pl, in The Village, Room 209, Los Angeles, CA 90038. It is an indoor room rather than a studio, so expect the atmosphere to come from the candles and the people in it.

Before You Go

All levels are welcome, including people who have never practiced yoga. Mats can be provided, so you do not need to own one to attend.

With Love Projects offers its programming for free, with the mission of making wellness practices available to queer people throughout Los Angeles. The organization also runs other queer-centered classes around the city, including candlelit vinyasa, yin yoga and outdoor sunset yoga, if you would like to continue practicing with the same community.
