Men's Tipi Ceremony

The Men's Tipi Ceremony is a two-day gathering for men at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is a meeting of men in the spirit of love, brotherhood and unity, held in the Red Road tradition and led by Qayla.

What to Expect

The gathering takes place over two days in a tipi, with brotherhood and unity as its center. The organizer describes the medicine at the heart of the ceremony in gentle terms: innocent, precious, a family and a friend to all, "a gentle flower of this creation." The spirit is one of men coming together in care for one another, in the way the elders have taught that the medicine should be met. A detailed schedule and session times are not given, so the shape of each day is best understood as an invitation into a shared circle rather than a program of fixed events.

About Qayla

Qayla has trained at PachaMama itself. He completed the Dual Dance there under the guidance of Abuela Malinali and Abuelo Gerero, and completed his Vision Quest at the center under the guidance of Mao Tatanka. This long relationship with the land and its teachers is the ground from which he holds the tipi ceremony.

The ceremony is held at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center, near Nicoya in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. Accommodations are offered at the center for those who wish to stay on site.
