Journey Through Sound

Journey Through Sound is an ecstatic dance weekend of trance music at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is built around Goa trance and electronic dance music, with DJ Tyohar at the decks for two consecutive days of nonstop dancing. It suits anyone drawn to trance dance, whether staying on site or coming in just for the music.

What to Expect

The program is a continuous run of trance across two days, described by the organizers as one beat, one tribe, one dance floor. Electronic music, and trance in particular, has been part of PachaMama since the beginning, traveling from the early Goa days and finding a home next to the river. This gathering carries that lineage into the forest.

This edition also marks a birthday: DJ Tyohar turns fifty, and the weekend celebrates the milestone. Expect rock influences woven into the trance sets, a nod to the other musical thread in his story.

About DJ Tyohar

DJ Tyohar has been a trance music DJ for over 20 years and has played all over the world. About ten years ago he discovered rock music and was immediately captured by it. That meeting of the two worlds shapes the sound he brings to the dance floor here.

The Setting

PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center sits in the Nicoya area of Guanacaste, with the river close by. Guests can stay on site, and there is a separate visitor option for those who prefer to come without accommodation.

Before You Go

No dance experience or prior training is asked for. Pricing differs for guests staying at the village and visitors without lodging, and a Costa Rican VAT is added to the total.
