Question 1

Where does the 7 Day New Years Retreat take place?

Accepted Answer

The retreat is held at the Andean Yoga School in Pisac, in the Sacred Valley of Peru, in the Cusco region. The school's retreat offering is described as set in Pisac, so you will be based there for the whole stay.

Question 2

What is the price of the retreat, and what room options are there?

Accepted Answer

The Yanantin Retreat is listed at $1,250 and you can choose a shared or a private room. The organizer's page does not say whether the price differs between the two, so check with the school before booking if that matters to you.

Question 3

How do I book a place on the New Years retreat?

Accepted Answer

The Yanantin Retreat has a Buy now button on the Andean Yoga School website, which is the booking route listed. For questions before you pay, use the Contact page or Customer service link on the same site.

Question 4

Is this the same as the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training?

Accepted Answer

No. The 200-hour YTT is a separate 22-day residential program in Pisac priced at $3,290, with meals, lodging, tuition and study material included. The New Years retreat is a 7-day stay with its own listing and price.

Question 5

Can I add one-to-one sessions with Daya during my stay in Pisac?

Accepted Answer

The school offers a 90-minute Thai massage session with Daya ($55), Chakana coaching ($1,100) and a private pranayama practice ($111). The page does not say whether these can be combined with the retreat, so ask the school directly about availability.

Question 6

What is the Chakana, and will it be part of the retreat?

Accepted Answer

The Chakana is the Andean framework for moving through the three worlds, and it guides the school's one-to-one coaching with Daya. The organizer does not state that it is part of the New Years retreat schedule, so confirm the program content with the school.

Question 7

What does the Thai massage session involve if I want to try it before or after the retreat?

Accepted Answer

It is traditional Thai bodywork with Daya, lasting ninety minutes, done on a mat with you fully clothed. It costs $55 and is offered in Pisac.
