Peaceful Cohabitation With the Collective Shadow, Explained

What does it mean to live peacefully alongside the parts of the world we would rather not look at? In his October 25 Sunday message, "Peacefully Cohabitating with the Shadow," Reverend Dr. Raymont Anderson, founder and spiritual director of the Center for Spiritually Integrated Arts, takes a question that much spiritual teaching keeps at arm's length and brings it into the open: how do we face the collective shadow, the trauma, greed, anger, and fear handed down through generations, without either denying it or being consumed by it? He builds his answer on an image that sounds unlikely for a sermon, a hip hop breakdance battle, and on a conviction that runs through the entire hour. No one is free while the systems around them keep others in bondage. What follows walks through the ideas he lays out, the reasoning behind them, and the practice he asks of listeners.

What does a breakdance battle have to do with the collective shadow?

Anderson opens with a scene. Picture two dancers in a battle circle. Around the 10:30 mark he describes the way it looks: the dancers seem to be in actual combat, and to a degree they are, yet no one is being harmed. The audience is amazed, entertained, and inspired by the skill and technique on display. That image, for him, is a mirror. We are all moving within a choreography, the patterned movement of life, whether we notice it or not. He points to traffic that flows through red lights, and to crowds that halt at a Do Not Walk sign and still ripple with movement around it.

The craft detail matters here, because it carries the whole metaphor. A battle is conflict performed inside a form. The dancers contest each other, but the form keeps the contest from becoming injury, and the artistry is what makes the whole thing worth watching. That is the distinction Anderson is drawing. Opposition that stays inside a shared art is one thing. Opposition that hardens into domination, control, and manipulation is another. Some people, he says, are dancing to the choreography of oppression and disconnection, and those patterns are now rising to the surface in systems, governments, and institutions.

How do you recognize a mis-choreographed world?

His second move is a ballet analogy, and it is the sharpest technical point in the message. A dancer who has trained seriously can look at a position and tell whether it is second or fourth, whether the arms sit where they belong, whether the French term fits the shape. She can do that because she knows what the form is supposed to look like. Anderson applies the same logic to justice:

"So if we know what liberation is supposed to look like and peace is supposed to look like and justice is supposed to look like, it's easy to identify these other mal choreographed movements to the dance."

Raymont Anderson, October 25 Sunday message, around the 13:00 mark.

The implication is that the shadow is not identified by a vague sense that something feels wrong. It is identified against a clear picture of wholeness. If you cannot describe peace, you will mistake its counterfeits for the real thing. He then names the inheritance: patterns "shaped by generations of trauma and greed and hatred and fear," taught, handed down, and indoctrinated into the next generation, which keeps performing a dance choreographed long ago. The same movements, the same choreography, and the same results. The phrase "same results" does a lot of quiet work. It asks listeners to look at outcomes rather than intentions.

Why does the shadow have to be faced collectively?

The turn toward the collective is where the message gets its urgency. Anderson asks directly whether we are willing to courageously face the collective shadow, to identify where these patterns show up and what healing would actually require. He then lists the arenas: political, educational, economic, religious, environmental, and more. Each is a place where the old choreography plays out in structures rather than only in individual hearts.

His goal is transformation, not just personal insight. The aim is to change institutions "that are not working effectively so that they can now work effectively in creating a world of peace and justice and liberation. A world that works for all." The language of co-creation is deliberate. He describes the work as cocreating and choreographing a new dance, which means the shadow is not something to be merely endured. It is material to be composed with.

Can personal liberation exist without collective liberation?

This is the claim that will land hardest for many spiritual seekers, and Anderson presses it without softening. He says the world is struggling with an overemphasis on separation between self and other, and that personal liberation has been prioritized over collective liberation. Then he makes the strongest statement of the hour:

"You have fooled yourself into believing that you are free because none of us are free until all of us are free."

Raymont Anderson, October 25 Sunday message, around the 17:00 mark.

He pushes the logic to its end. If personal liberation comes at the cost of collective liberation, it is not personal liberation at all. Technically, he argues, you are not free if you are still operating within a system that oppresses and enslaves others. You are still in it. This reframes what spiritual freedom is. A private calm that coexists with structural cruelty is, in his telling, an incomplete peace, a dancer who has mastered her own footwork while the troupe is being pushed off the stage.

How does othering turn the shadow into violence?

The mechanism Anderson keeps returning to is othering. He lists the divisions he sees operating: Black versus white, gay versus straight, gay versus transgender, binary versus nonbinary, rich versus poor, and more. When we create enemies, he says, we vilify people and make them other. He cites Hitler as an example, a leader who vilified a great many people, not just Jews. Then comes the line that gives the argument its moral weight:

"When you dehumanize anyone, it is far easier to either enslave or commit a genocide."

Raymont Anderson, October 25 Sunday message, around the 18:00 mark.

The logic here is less about individual cruelty than about the psychology of groups. Once a person or population is cast as other, their suffering stops registering as a loss to us, and harm becomes easier to justify, even to carry out. That is why Anderson treats separation as the root of the problem rather than a side effect. The shadow, in this framing, is not only a private inheritance. It is the active machinery by which people are rendered expendable.

How do you hold the world's pain without closing your heart?

Around the 27:00 mark, Anderson asks, "So, how do we hold the world's pain?" It is the practical hinge of the message, the question that turns a metaphor about dance into something a listener has to carry home. The transcript grows fragmentary in the back half of the hour, so this reading stays with the points he states most plainly rather than reconstructing passages the record does not support. What remains clear is his insistence that the work is shared. The question is posed to a community, not to a solitary seeker.

The close returns to holiness and to motion. Near the end, Anderson speaks of the amen being in motion, of wisdom that we are living in, and of the ground beneath us as holy. The ending is a reminder that the dance he describes is not finished. The center's own closing song puts the same idea in plainer language: "We express artistry as our living practice." Anderson's frame treats the shadow as something to be danced with, carefully and in form, rather than fought off.

Where to go from here

The message offers a usable practice, even for listeners who never join a service. Start by naming the patterns: where trauma, greed, anger, and fear show up in your own reactions and in the institutions you touch. Next, hold a clear picture of what liberation, peace, and justice look like, because that picture is what lets you see a mis-choreographed movement at all. Test your sense of personal freedom against the collective, asking whether your peace depends on someone else's bondage. Watch your language for the subtle moves of othering, the ways a group becomes an enemy. And take the work beyond yourself, into the institutions where the old dance keeps repeating.

For those who want to go further, Anderson invites viewers to watch the archived messages from the Center for Spiritually Integrated Arts, to join its classes and events, and to email with questions about the community, about him, or about the science of mind and spirit liberation theology the center practices and teaches. He also notes that people may hold multiple affiliations, belonging to another church or center while still finding community here. The invitation, in the end, is the same one that runs through the whole hour: to look at the shadow honestly, and to step into a dance that works for all.

[9:29] >> [music]

[10:31] >> Namaste and greetings as we close out

[10:35] the month of October,

[10:37] Dancing with the Shadows.

[10:39] Today we shall discuss

[10:43] how do we engage in peaceful

[10:48] cohabitation?

[10:50] Like how can we peacefully cohabitate?

[10:54] What does it mean to even be peacefully

[10:57] cohabitating

[10:59] with the shadow?

[11:03] Imagine this,

[11:05] a hiphop breakdance battle. While it

[11:08] looks like the dancers are engaging in

[11:12] actual combat

[11:14] and to a certain degree they are

[11:17] battling but no one is being harmed.

[11:22] And while we are watching this,

[11:25] we are amazed, entertained, and inspired

[11:29] by the level of skill, technique,

[11:32] and artistry

[11:34] that these dancers are

[11:37] engaging in.

[11:42] This is a reflection that tells us we

[11:45] too are involved in, engaged in

[11:50] the dance of life.

[11:52] We are all moving based upon the

[11:55] choreography

[11:56] of life.

[12:00] Dance movement.

[12:03] Choreography

[12:05] planned or

[12:08] um patterned movement. We see it in

[12:12] traffic patterns. How they'll go.

[12:14] There's a red light. This one stops.

[12:16] This one goes

[12:19] until it changes.

[12:22] We see crowds moving in one direction

[12:25] until the sign says stop, do not cross,

[12:28] do not walk, and then they stop, but

[12:31] they're still moving. There's still a

[12:33] wave of movement as other people move

[12:36] one other direction or etc. It's all

[12:40] movement. It's all choreography. It's

[12:42] all the dance of life.

[12:45] And yet

[12:50] some folks are dancing

[12:54] in a different way.

[12:57] They are dancing to the beat of and the

[12:59] choreography of oppression and

[13:02] disconnection,

[13:04] disharmony,

[13:06] domination, control, manipulation.

[13:10] And all of these things

[13:13] are rising to the surface.

[13:17] And to those of us who are able to

[13:19] identify,

[13:21] for example,

[13:23] if you are skilled in something like

[13:26] ballet, and I mean skilled,

[13:30] then you are able to tell what position

[13:32] that is. Is that second position or

[13:34] fourth?

[13:36] Are there are there arms?

[13:39] what's the French term and are their

[13:42] arms in the right position and do they

[13:44] look like that? You're able to identify

[13:46] it because you know what it's supposed

[13:50] to look like.

[13:53] So if we know what liberation is

[13:56] supposed to look like and peace is

[13:58] supposed to look like and justice is

[14:00] supposed to look like, it's easy to

[14:03] identify these other

[14:05] mal choreographed

[14:09] movements to the dance.

[14:12] We are able to identify these patterns

[14:16] that are shaped by generations of trauma

[14:21] and greed and hatred and fear

[14:26] that have been taught and handed down

[14:28] and indoctrinated into the next

[14:30] generation that continues a dance

[14:34] that was choreographed eons ago.

[14:38] and they continue to dance to that same

[14:40] tune,

[14:42] same movements, same choreography,

[14:46] same results.

[14:51] [snorts]

[14:52] So if we're able to identify the trauma,

[14:54] the greed, anger, fear, we're able to

[14:57] identify this stuff. Are we willing to

[14:59] courageously face the collective shadow?

[15:04] Are we willing to look at these things

[15:06] and identify

[15:08] where and how do they show up? What's

[15:11] required to truly heal them?

[15:15] Get people in alignment with the dance

[15:18] of life,

[15:20] ordered, harmonious, peaceful life.

[15:24] So that the institutions

[15:27] where all of these things show up,

[15:28] political institutions,

[15:31] educational institutions, economic

[15:34] institutions,

[15:35] religious institutions, and more,

[15:39] environmental

[15:41] and more.

[15:44] Are we able to are we willing once again

[15:46] courageously willing

[15:49] to address these things and how they

[15:51] show up in these various institutions?

[15:53] So that we can transform these

[15:55] institutions that are not working

[15:58] effectively so that they can now work

[16:01] effectively in creating a world of peace

[16:06] and justice and liberation.

[16:10] A world that works for all.

[16:14] And we are cocreating

[16:17] and choreographing

[16:20] a new dance in order to do that.

[16:28] Our world is struggling with an

[16:30] overemphasis

[16:32] on

[16:34] separation

[16:36] between self and other.

[16:39] Personal liberation has become

[16:41] prioritized

[16:43] over collective liberation.

[16:47] And I could have remixed here, but I'm

[16:49] not going I didn't and I'm not going to

[16:50] per se. If it's personal liberation at

[16:54] the cost of collective liberation, then

[16:57] it's not even personal liberation.

[17:00] You have fooled yourself into believing

[17:03] that you are free

[17:05] because none of us are free

[17:08] until all of us are free. So there is no

[17:12] personal liberation

[17:14] separate from collective liberation.

[17:19] It's not possible. You can call it

[17:21] whatever you want to call it, but

[17:23] technically you're not free if you're

[17:25] still operating within a system that

[17:28] oppresses and enslaves others.

[17:32] You're still in it.

[17:37] So

[17:39] if our world is struggling with an

[17:41] overemphasis on separation between self

[17:43] and other othering, black versus white,

[17:46] gay versus straight, gay versus

[17:48] transgender,

[17:50] uh non-binary versus binary, rich versus

[17:55] poor, and more and more and more.

[18:02] When we create enemies, Hitler, what did

[18:05] he do? Vilified

[18:09] a great many people, not just the Jews,

[18:11] but he vilified them and made them

[18:13] other.

[18:15] And when you other and dehumanized

[18:17] people, they're eating the cats and

[18:19] dogs.

[18:22] They're sending us all their worst.

[18:24] They're they're sending us all of the

[18:26] criminals and the worst of the worst.

[18:29] When you dehumanize anyone, it is far

[18:32] easier

[18:34] to either enslave

[18:36] or commit a genocide.

[18:41] This is what our world based upon the

[18:44] collective shadow.

[18:47] That's what we're doing when we are

[18:48] overemphasizing separation

[18:51] between self and other.

[18:55] I'm not like that. I would never. But

[18:59] did you not vote for this? Well, I mean,

[19:02] yeah, I did, [clears throat]

[19:04] but I didn't know. You didn't want to

[19:06] know

[19:07] because the signs were there.

[19:11] So, are we collectively ready to engage

[19:13] in collective liberation,

[19:16] which means understanding

[19:20] duality,

[19:23] duality is not the issue.

[19:28] Duality

[19:30] is an experience.

[19:32] It's how we experience any of these

[19:35] things.

[19:38] Day versus night. Would we say night is

[19:42] bad?

[19:44] Would we say the darkness is bad? Would

[19:47] we say being human is bad? No. But all

[19:51] of these things fall on the yin side of

[19:57] yinyang.

[19:59] Duality,

[20:02] peace,

[20:04] hot.

[20:08] Is that automatically good just because?

[20:12] Well, I mean,

[20:15] eh, and can one know

[20:21] a nondual

[20:25] yet still experience? If it was only day

[20:28] all the time, never dark, never dark

[20:31] anywhere.

[20:32] Well, what would that mean?

[20:35] What would that look like? There's no

[20:36] darkness, only absolute light. Well, you

[20:39] can't you wouldn't be able to perceive

[20:40] or see anything because it would be too

[20:43] it's too much. You need to have levels

[20:47] of too much light, too little light,

[20:50] just the right amount.

[20:53] That's a continuum.

[20:56] Well, in the continuum, there's too much

[20:59] one way, too much the other way. Which

[21:02] is why the Buddha spoke about the middle

[21:06] path. The middle path gives us the

[21:09] balance between yin and yang.

[21:14] So duality is not the issue. It's not

[21:17] the enemy.

[21:19] It's how are we dancing and

[21:22] choreographing life

[21:25] in the midst of the duality.

[21:31] What is that?

[21:36] Okay. So, it's the it's it's a penny.

[21:41] Yes.

[21:42] But how is this different from this?

[21:49] Well, we may say, well, one is the

[21:51] front, one is the back, one is heads,

[21:54] one is tails.

[21:57] But the question is, can you only have

[22:01] one?

[22:05] Can you have a coin that only has one

[22:09] side?

[22:11] And I'm not talking about a coin that

[22:13] has the same thing printed on both

[22:16] sides, cuz that's still a two-sided. Can

[22:20] you have a onesided

[22:23] coin?

[22:26] No.

[22:30] Okay.

[22:32] So, if you cannot have a one-sided coin,

[22:34] why are we trying to absolutize?

[22:38] There is only one power, God, the good.

[22:44] There is only oneness.

[22:48] Yes, in the absolute, but in the

[22:51] relative there's duality.

[22:55] In the relative there are

[22:57] [clears throat] various experiences of

[22:59] hot and or cold, death and or life.

[23:06] And in this experience, we are meant to

[23:09] experience

[23:11] the range and spectrum of spicy, sour,

[23:15] sweet, salty, [snorts]

[23:18] bland,

[23:22] nasty, delicious,

[23:26] and everything else.

[23:28] We are not meant to absolutize

[23:33] our life experience at the expense of

[23:37] living.

[23:39] You cannot have an inside of a car

[23:44] without there being an outside.

[23:49] You and vice versa. You can't have an

[23:50] outside

[23:53] without there also being an inside. And

[23:56] the inside and outside consist of very

[23:59] different things.

[24:01] Like how would you drive if

[24:04] the steering wheel was on the outside of

[24:08] the car and the tires

[24:11] were on the inside of the car?

[24:16] Um

[24:19] I that's a very good question.

[24:25] So why do we try to make it sound like

[24:28] this thing called life there is only

[24:30] blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. No.

[24:34] No.

[24:36] And the only way we are going to

[24:37] effectively heal the shadow is by

[24:41] elevating our understanding of new

[24:44] thought. Stop doing that new thought

[24:45] 1.0. Move into new thought 2 3 4.0 know

[24:52] which also includes

[24:54] confronting things like oh there's some

[24:58] new thought folks that keep saying I

[24:59] don't see color

[25:02] are we courageous enough to help them

[25:05] recognize

[25:07] you do in fact see color you do

[25:12] unless the person truly has some form of

[25:17] vision disability

[25:19] vision vision impairment,

[25:22] color blindness or something.

[25:25] Unless that is the thing,

[25:28] they do see color.

[25:31] And

[25:34] we can prove it.

[25:37] Prove it how though? Very easily.

[25:41] You're telling me you don't see color?

[25:46] Is that what you're telling me? that

[25:48] banana 1 through 15 all look exactly the

[25:52] same to you. Is that what you're saying?

[25:56] No, it's not what you're saying. Because

[25:58] you can see color.

[26:00] Old new thought would have us believe

[26:02] that being colorblind

[26:04] to race and ethnicity is a good thing.

[26:07] And it's not.

[26:10] So let's move beyond that and say I see

[26:14] the various shades of skin tones and

[26:17] recognize that it is all an expression

[26:19] of God. Therefore

[26:22] I need not deny recognition of it. I can

[26:27] move into a place of celebrating it

[26:33] because I can celebrate the vast array

[26:36] of how it shows up.

[26:41] When we are courageous enough to

[26:43] confront the shadow,

[26:46] the lies, the fear, the hatred,

[26:49] then the fact that every single day all

[26:52] over the world we see violence beyond

[26:56] comprehension,

[26:58] we will begin to heal it.

[27:01] So, how do we hold the world's pain

[27:04] empathetically without taking it on? How

[27:06] do we hold

[27:08] such heinous things in our hearts? Do we

[27:13] ignore it? That's not going to work. Do

[27:16] we deny it? That's not going to work.

[27:20] Labeling it as many do. It's merely an

[27:23] illusion.

[27:24] That's not going to work either.

[27:29] What about Well, that's not my problem.

[27:31] That's theirs. They need to do change

[27:32] their change your consciousness and

[27:35] it'll change. it my I I'm already

[27:37] enlightened.

[27:39] I'm liberated.

[27:42] You have to find your own liberation.

[27:45] It's their problem, not mine.

[27:48] Well, what about do we label them as

[27:51] evil? That thing over there is evil, and

[27:53] I have no part of it.

[27:57] It's one of the reasons why I don't talk

[27:58] about politics. I separate myself from

[28:01] all of that stuff

[28:03] because I'm free when I do it. I don't

[28:06] watch the news. I'm free of all of these

[28:09] things happening around the world. None

[28:12] of it bothers me.

[28:15] That's not going to work. I What? Close

[28:17] your heart. Just don't feel it. That's

[28:19] not going to work either.

[28:22] Because when we close our hearts, we are

[28:25] even quicker to make judgments.

[28:28] And when we are quicker to make

[28:29] judgments,

[28:31] we cause greater devastation because it

[28:35] was closed hearts in the first place

[28:38] that created the transatlantic slave

[28:41] trade.

[28:43] It was closed hearts

[28:46] expressed through the Nazis that created

[28:49] the Holocaust.

[28:51] Closed hearts that ran plantations and

[28:54] enslaved other human beings here in the

[28:57] United States. Closed hearts genocide to

[29:00] the indigenous Americans.

[29:03] Closed hearts currently celebrating the

[29:06] death of Palestinians. Closed hearts.

[29:11] Anger, hatred, fear, and more.

[29:18] Seeing the daily realities of this

[29:21] planet,

[29:22] one may be tempted to just give up

[29:26] entirely.

[29:28] Give up on healing. Give up on change.

[29:32] Give up on freedom. Give up on humanity

[29:36] itself.

[29:38] What's the point?

[29:40] There's just too much There's just too

[29:42] much hatred out there. There's too much

[29:44] I can't take it all. I can't I can't fix

[29:46] it all. There's it's too much for

[29:48] anyone. There's just there's too much

[29:50] ignorance. There's too much evil.

[29:52] There's too much hatred.

[29:54] And we've already passed the point of no

[29:57] return as many say,

[30:01] which is a fair conclusion.

[30:06] And when we reach that conclusion, what

[30:08] do what do we decide? Oh, we need to

[30:11] build bigger, higher walls, strengthen

[30:14] the borders, put more barb wire and

[30:17] guards at the

[30:20] create greater separation to the

[30:23] separation that is separating.

[30:27] [clears throat]

[30:30] And yet, and yet many have suffered the

[30:35] most outrageous injustices

[30:38] and carried on. Many have carried on and

[30:41] grown and carried on and healed and

[30:44] carried on and transformed and then

[30:47] brought their transformation to others

[30:51] and broke down the walls.

[30:54] Like the scene in the women of

[30:57] Brewster's place where it ends with them

[31:00] attacking the wall and putting a hole in

[31:04] it and take down the wall, the Berlin

[31:06] wall, take it down. There are

[31:09] heartbreaking stories of unconditional

[31:12] love shining and [clears throat] growing

[31:15] even in the most

[31:19] impenetrable

[31:21] dark nights of the soul.

[31:24] In the most

[31:27] isolated of life situations, there is

[31:31] unconditional. There is uncondition.

[31:33] Just when you think there is only desert

[31:36] and heat and death and scorpions,

[31:40] there is an oasis.

[31:46] Focus on what's wrong with the world and

[31:50] you may feel afraid.

[31:52] Feel paralyzed. Feel helpless, hopeless,

[31:56] and full of rage.

[31:59] Focus on what's right with the world,

[32:01] and you may be simply burying your head

[32:04] in the sand. Spiritual bypass.

[32:09] So what does it mean to go beyond right

[32:11] and wrong?

[32:14] Go to that place where there is a field

[32:16] of indescribable

[32:19] yin yang, light, darkness.

[32:23] Focusing on that field of balance and

[32:25] harmony.

[32:27] Focus on the yinyang, the dark and the

[32:30] light. I know Jeff is saying the light,

[32:32] but I'm focus on the balance of yin and

[32:36] yang, day and night.

[32:40] Because even in this space

[32:43] when it is the darkest,

[32:46] a simple candle brings illumination

[32:50] and then there is balance.

[32:57] So it is easy to somehow spot the us

[33:01] versus them,

[33:05] the whatever that means. But a few

[33:08] transformed

[33:10] healing

[33:13] bodhicattvas

[33:15] of consciousness

[33:18] can stand and courageously face the

[33:21] collective shadow

[33:25] and they are brave enough, courageous

[33:27] enough, empathic enough to let their

[33:32] light shine.

[33:34] And light not simply meaning light but

[33:36] light mean let their love shine their

[33:39] joy their liberation shine. What happens

[33:43] by default?

[33:45] It ripples and begins to change the

[33:49] collective.

[33:53] And then we have collective healing

[33:57] integration

[33:59] because what you see is notice there's

[34:01] still a shadow in the image. There's

[34:04] still a shadow being cast from the

[34:07] light. The shadow is not eliminated.

[34:11] It's integrated

[34:13] balance.

[34:16] In the martial arts, not just martial

[34:19] arts, but I learned it or got into it

[34:21] via the martial arts, there is a word, a

[34:24] concept, chi,

[34:27] also spelled with a qi,

[34:31] chi,

[34:32] pronounced key in Japanese.

[34:36] And it is the traditional Chinese or

[34:39] Japanese concept of there being an

[34:42] active vital life force,

[34:47] an energy that flows through all living

[34:50] things and the universe itself.

[34:53] It is a foundational idea that is

[34:57] utilized in traditional Chinese and

[34:59] Japanese medicine,

[35:02] martial arts as well as the Chinese

[35:05] practice of fune.

[35:10] The concept of an active vital life

[35:12] force or energy that flows through

[35:16] for my ally is the force and the

[35:18] powerful ally it is. It connects and

[35:22] binds us. Penetrates and

[35:27] chi and the force.

[35:31] Oh, [clears throat] I see what George

[35:33] Lucas did there.

[35:36] So why am I sharing this concept? She

[35:42] C H I collective

[35:47] healing integration.

[35:53] Put put Put that in there. Put that in

[35:54] there. We're going to come back to it.

[35:56] And so each one of us is immersed in a

[35:58] race belief

[36:01] which fills our consciousness with false

[36:03] thought which claims to be true.

[36:06] That is one way of limitation.

[36:09] false thought which claims to be true.

[36:14] There's there are so many ways we can

[36:16] false thought which claims to be true.

[36:17] There's a such thing as Santa Claus.

[36:19] That's a false thought which claims to

[36:21] be true. Tooth fairy, the boogeyman.

[36:25] They're eating cats and dogs. They're

[36:26] eating our pets. False thought which

[36:28] claims to be true.

[36:31] Like there are there are great many

[36:32] examples of

[36:35] change your thinking, change your life.

[36:37] just by itself. It's not a complete

[36:39] thought. And to say that to somebody as

[36:42] though it is is a false thought which

[36:43] claims to be true and therefore is one

[36:46] way of limitation. It's all an illusion

[36:49] anyway. False thought claiming to be

[36:52] true.

[36:56] So

[37:00] we are encouraged especially in new

[37:02] thought 4.0 science mind and spirit 4.0

[37:05] You know, to make sure that our thoughts

[37:09] are linked with that which is true, that

[37:11] which is principlebased,

[37:14] not simply

[37:17] the comfortable, the conditioned, the

[37:20] indoctrinated.

[37:22] Because if false thought is the way of

[37:24] limitation, then true thought is the way

[37:26] of liberation.

[37:31] Breathe.

[37:34] So if we think back to chi,

[37:37] there is a Chinese

[37:40] form of movement,

[37:43] not tai chi. I know that's what you were

[37:46] thinking, Taiichi, which is similar, but

[37:48] there is this thing called chiong.

[37:52] And there are five principles

[37:56] that chiong is based on.

[38:00] posture,

[38:02] breath,

[38:04] mindfulness,

[38:06] [snorts] flow,

[38:08] and the five elements.

[38:12] Keep this in mind

[38:14] because it's going to show up later as a

[38:17] homework assignment.

[38:19] So for example,

[38:22] flow commit to smooth unforced movements

[38:27] from the beginning to the end, from

[38:29] start to finish. If I were to ask you,

[38:32] how does flow show up in your regular

[38:34] everyday life?

[38:37] How does breath show up in your

[38:40] the way you the way you address

[38:42] conflict?

[38:44] How do the five elements show up in your

[38:48] spiritual practices?

[38:51] So that we are usingqi

[38:54] collective healing integration

[38:56] as part of our everyday

[38:59] practices.

[39:03] Breathe

[39:05] the thought forms which we have created

[39:09] and with which we have surrounded

[39:11] ourselves.

[39:13] Our mental beliefs underneath

[39:16] the results of our objective thinking

[39:19] and receiving through race suggestions

[39:24] is termed subjective consciousness.

[39:31] So subjective consciousness is all of

[39:34] the thought forms which we have created

[39:37] that surround us and all of our mental

[39:40] beliefs and paradigms beneath the

[39:42] surface.

[39:45] All of our

[39:47] objective thinking and all of the things

[39:49] that we have received from the

[39:50] collective consciousness. All of that

[39:54] is under the title

[39:57] subjective consciousness.

[40:00] Keep that in mind

[40:03] because it is the subjective

[40:04] consciousness

[40:07] that's moving stuff. And you can think

[40:10] of it like gravity.

[40:13] You don't have to see it to know it's

[40:15] there. The dancers move and they they're

[40:18] not paying attention. To what degree is

[40:21] gravity going to slow down my head spin?

[40:25] They practice

[40:27] flow,

[40:30] mindfulness,

[40:33] breath. They may not label it these

[40:35] things, but they're practicing it

[40:37] because that is a part of this thing

[40:39] called break dancing.

[40:44] And a piece of a little history lesson.

[40:46] Do you know what this

[40:50] traces back to historically?

[40:55] Put it Put it in the chat.

[40:59] Starts with a C.

[41:02] You ready? Okay.

[41:07] Know what this is?

[41:09] Know what this is called? It's a Afrob

[41:12] Brazilian martial art.

[41:18] Capoera.

[41:21] This is the great great grandparent of

[41:24] break dancing. It is a form of combat

[41:30] hidden in the dance so that people who

[41:32] were enslaved

[41:34] could practice fighting.

[41:38] But the masters would have no idea. They

[41:42] would think they were just dancing cuz

[41:44] there's music, there's playfulness,

[41:47] but there are lethal combat moves

[41:50] hidden.

[41:52] Now, once again, I share this because

[41:55] these folks don't need to consciously

[41:58] think about gravity and flow.

[42:04] It's part of what is

[42:07] immersed and surrounding and moving

[42:11] through them naturally.

[42:19] But there is a certain awareness

[42:22] even if they're not aware of this

[42:25] specific

[42:27] formula [snorts]

[42:28] for identifying in order for me to do

[42:31] this backflip, I need to be moving a

[42:34] certain speed divided by my body weight

[42:38] and my height. They don't need to know

[42:40] all of that,

[42:42] but they feel into it. That's intuition.

[42:52] Part of our declaration of principles or

[42:55] our what we believe statements

[42:57] number five says we believe the ultimate

[43:00] goal of life to be a complete freedom or

[43:03] a complete liberation from all discord

[43:06] of every nature and that this goal is

[43:08] sure to be attained by all.

[43:13] What does this look like? What does this

[43:14] mean? especially as it pertains to

[43:17] courageously addressing the collective

[43:19] shadow

[43:22] remix.

[43:25] We believe the ultimate goal of life to

[43:27] be a complete freedom, liberation,

[43:30] emancipation from all non-lifeaffirming

[43:34] discord of every nature. Key all nonlife

[43:38] affirming discord. It is important to

[43:42] recognize that not all discord is

[43:44] undesirable

[43:46] or non-lifeaffirming.

[43:50] Some discord is lifeaffffirming. Discord

[43:53] can be healthy if used with clear

[43:56] boundaries and in life affirming

[43:58] relationships and activities.

[44:03] We believe that goal of emancipation is

[44:07] sure to be attained and experienced by

[44:11] all when the collective consciousness

[44:16] has been effectively addressed and

[44:21] healed.

[44:25] Discord. What is discord?

[44:27] strife, contention,

[44:31] conflict.

[44:34] Let's single that out for a moment. What

[44:36] is conflict?

[44:39] There are various ways of thinking about

[44:40] conflict.

[44:42] Healthy conflict,

[44:45] lifeaffirming

[44:46] conflict,

[44:48] and unhealthy or non-lifeaffirming

[44:52] conflict.

[44:54] conflict in and of itself, discord in

[44:57] and of itself is not non-life affirming.

[45:02] We have to identify in what way is this

[45:05] conflict, this discord showing up

[45:10] because conflict as a clash, a struggle

[45:15] between people or groups or ideas caused

[45:20] by opposing needs,

[45:23] opposing goals

[45:25] or opposing beliefs.

[45:28] That does not necessarily mean

[45:31] non-lifeaffirming.

[45:34] Opposition sounds non-life affirming

[45:37] because we've been conditioned to think

[45:39] of it that way. But opposition also

[45:42] shows up in tugofwar.

[45:46] chess,

[45:50] yatsi,

[45:52] uno,

[45:54] jenga,

[45:55] and more. Sports,

[45:58] the two opposing football teams. Boxing,

[46:02] the two opposing boxers.

[46:05] Tennis, the two opposing.

[46:09] gymnastics. The entire Olympics is based

[46:12] on

[46:15] different goals

[46:17] cuz everybody's attempting to win

[46:21] the gold medal, but one of

[46:24] it's not automatically bad or non-life

[46:27] affirming. It's how is it coming to

[46:32] pass?

[46:33] How is it being engaged? Because there

[46:36] are some people who play Monopoly as

[46:38] though they are playing with their real

[46:40] life savings.

[46:43] They get cutthroat.

[46:46] Why? They're taking it personal. That's

[46:49] non-life affirming.

[46:51] They are taking the opposition or the

[46:54] conflict personally

[46:57] and then they get mad, become a sore

[47:00] loser or whatever.

[47:03] They smashed their $2 million tennis

[47:06] racket because the referee

[47:14] breathe. That's non That's a non-life

[47:16] affirming expression of what is that?

[47:20] But in and of itself,

[47:23] conflict,

[47:25] discord is not the enemy.

[47:30] Remember,

[47:33] we can have certain false thoughts,

[47:36] false ideas that we believe are true,

[47:38] and it causes us to act a certain way.

[47:42] We can fool ourselves.

[47:45] We don't fool ourselves, however, as

[47:47] much as people think we fool ourselves.

[47:51] We can fool other people.

[47:54] In the long run, we can fool the world

[47:56] and ourselves. But you cannot cheat

[48:00] principle out of the slightest shadow of

[48:04] your most subtle concept.

[48:09] We throw upon the walls of our

[48:12] experience the shadows of our thoughts

[48:15] and desires. That subconscious

[48:19] consciousness.

[48:22] What's happening beneath the surface of

[48:23] the water? that biggest portion of the

[48:26] iceberg.

[48:28] It's what's operating. And if we pretend

[48:32] like no, it's no, but no, we're fooling

[48:36] ourselves. We've conditioned ourselves

[48:38] to believe the thing that's not true as

[48:40] though it were. And then we are living

[48:44] the lie which is causing greater harm

[48:46] and lack and limitation.

[48:48] But the law is still going to operate

[48:50] based upon

[48:52] the dominant mental equivalent whether

[48:56] we consciously know it's there or not.

[49:01] Breathe.

[49:05] Now,

[49:08] [snorts] two of the greatest archetypes

[49:11] of the shadow would be Batman

[49:15] and the ninja.

[49:18] Why? Because their legends

[49:22] work within the shadows. Batman turned

[49:26] his fear into his greatest strength and

[49:30] then he uses that the shadow

[49:34] as his superpower.

[49:37] The ninja hid in the shadows. And even

[49:41] sometimes the shadow didn't mean literal

[49:44] shadows.

[49:47] Sometimes the ninja's greatest form of

[49:51] secrecy or hiding was hiding in plain

[49:55] sight,

[49:57] dawning the mask of mailman,

[50:01] office worker,

[50:03] etc.

[50:06] But they are not fooling themselves

[50:11] though they are fooling other people.

[50:15] Bruce Wayne fools people to think I'm

[50:19] Bruce Wayne. That's Batman.

[50:22] And yet there's still an underlying

[50:27] concept and principle that even in their

[50:31] disguises,

[50:34] it's still what's operating.

[50:36] The ninja is still a ninja no matter

[50:38] what they wear. Bruce Wayne is still

[50:41] Batman no matter what he wears.

[50:46] Clark Kent is still Superman no matter

[50:49] what he wears or vice versa

[50:52] because there's a certain point where

[50:56] they're not two separate Clark Kent

[50:58] Batman Clark Kent Batman Clark Kent

[51:01] Superman

[51:02] they're the same person.

[51:07] Bruce Banner and the Hulk same person.

[51:10] Peter Parker and Spider-Man, same

[51:12] person. It's just one has a certain way

[51:16] of presenting, the other has a certain

[51:18] way of presenting. But underneath the

[51:20] surface, they move according to the same

[51:24] principles,

[51:25] the same law, the same power.

[51:30] We all have to do this inner work to

[51:33] look at ourselves

[51:35] and understand where we might be

[51:38] possibly in any way contributing to the

[51:42] collective pain.

[51:45] Whether that's through inaction,

[51:49] through judgment,

[51:51] lack of curiosity in learning about

[51:54] systemic injustices that are happening

[51:56] across the world.

[51:59] Maybe it's our defensiveness,

[52:02] passive aggression,

[52:04] people pleasing, or it's simply choosing

[52:07] self over

[52:10] community.

[52:14] Part of doing our shadow work involves

[52:17] identifying how we might be contributing

[52:21] to

[52:23] the pain,

[52:26] the false thoughts

[52:32] that have been made to be true that are

[52:36] wait what how am I contributing to is my

[52:42] version of masculinity

[52:44] contributing to the toxic patriarchy.

[52:51] Is my view or perception of

[52:55] politics

[52:57] contributing to

[52:59] the manipulation and corruption of

[53:02] politics?

[53:04] Is my

[53:09] contributing to

[53:15] Is my spiritual bypassing contributing

[53:17] to?

[53:19] Is my I don't see color contributing to

[53:27] because it could be showing up in a in a

[53:29] lot of a whole lot of ways. But if I am

[53:33] not willing to sit down and identify how

[53:36] am I what am I creating co-creating

[53:40] thinking

[53:42] what is my mental equivalent then I'm

[53:45] not being truly responsible and

[53:47] accountable

[53:50] for claiming I'm creating a world that

[53:52] works for all

[53:54] cuz I can't know that if I'm not doing

[53:56] my inner work because I may be saying

[53:59] I'm creating a world that works for all.

[54:01] That's my vision. That's my goal. But my

[54:03] subconscious, that subjective stuff is

[54:07] actually, but I can't stand them. I

[54:12] mean, oh, I just wish they were all

[54:15] gone.

[54:17] And that could be anything. That could

[54:18] be a group of people. That could be

[54:20] roaches. I don't care what it is. It's

[54:22] an expression of God. I don't want them

[54:23] in my house, but I don't want them all

[54:26] eradicated and wiped away because it's

[54:28] an expression of the divine. It serves a

[54:31] purpose in the grand ecology of Earth.

[54:36] But the moment I'm like, "Yeah, I wish

[54:37] they were all dead. I wish they were all

[54:40] gone. Every mosquito gone. But they

[54:43] serve a purpose.

[54:45] I don't want them around me cuz I ain't

[54:47] trying to

[54:49] I don't want that.

[54:52] But I don't need them to be eradicated.

[54:56] But if I'm not doing my own inner work,

[54:59] how am I supposed to know or distinguish

[55:04] when doing any form of collective shadow

[55:07] work? That is exploring how we have

[55:11] unconsciously

[55:13] internalized

[55:15] parts of the collective shadow.

[55:18] We need to be aware that we're going to

[55:21] mess up.

[55:23] It's inevitable. We're going to mess up.

[55:25] We're going to make mistakes. Pause.

[55:28] Think back to the break dancers. Do you

[55:30] think none of them actually fail in

[55:32] their spins and their jumps and their

[55:34] flips? Do you think all of it perfect?

[55:37] And it's like, [clears throat] ah, head

[55:39] spin. Ah, perfect. No. Sometimes they

[55:42] fall, sprain an ankle, bruise an elbow,

[55:44] break a bone.

[55:46] Mistakes are inevitable

[55:49] no matter what the process is.

[55:54] That's why pencils have erasers

[55:58] because mistakes happen.

[56:02] We might

[56:04] offend someone.

[56:07] We might be unpopular.

[56:10] We might be labeled within our own

[56:13] movement a troublemaker,

[56:16] rebellious,

[56:18] radical,

[56:22] and that's okay. It's okay to be

[56:25] imperfect. It's okay to make mistakes.

[56:30] It's okay to occasionally say the wrong

[56:33] thing as long as we are learning and

[56:36] growing through it.

[56:41] And it's okay to be rebellious

[56:45] and a troublemaker

[56:48] when it's getting into good trouble.

[56:53] Thank you, uh, Representative John

[56:56] Lewis.

[56:58] Thank you, Bard Rustin, angelic

[57:01] troublemaker, and your encouragement to

[57:03] every community needs an angelic

[57:05] troublemaker. Sometimes that's what's

[57:08] necessary to help do the collective

[57:11] shadow work.

[57:13] To what degree are you willing to I

[57:16] could have had a V8? To what degree are

[57:19] you willing to Oops.

[57:23] To what degree are you comfortable

[57:27] making a mistake?

[57:32] Because once again, that's something

[57:34] that we have been conditioned.

[57:38] Avoid mistakes, avoid failure.

[57:45] Tracy and I, we were watching, which we

[57:47] often do every so often, Law and Order,

[57:50] and there was an episode where the DA

[57:55] or assistant DA made a comment. Jack

[57:59] made a comment. Well, another lawyer

[58:01] made a comment to him and said, "You

[58:02] don't like to lose, do you?"

[58:05] Jack was like, "No." Because and Tracy

[58:07] and I continued watching and it was

[58:08] like, "Yeah, he's got an issue with

[58:10] losing." His conditioning has been win

[58:14] because when he lost a game of darts,

[58:18] his father punished him. And he said in

[58:21] this one particular episode, "From that

[58:23] time forward, I never lost another game

[58:26] of darts."

[58:28] So he was conditioned with a false

[58:30] thought which became a source of a

[58:32] limitation.

[58:35] Part of healing involves making

[58:37] mistakes.

[58:41] Breathe.

[58:43] To actively embody and engage the

[58:45] science of mind and spirit 4.0 is to

[58:48] oops often

[58:50] open opportunities

[58:53] to presence shadow.

[58:58] open greater and more frequent

[59:00] opportunities to be present

[59:04] with shadow work. To be present with the

[59:08] shadow in whatever form it is showing

[59:10] up.

[59:12] Everything that we have spoken about

[59:13] this entire month is how we presence

[59:18] shadow.

[59:20] How do we study it?

[59:23] How do we integrate it?

[59:26] How do we apply it?

[59:29] By recognizing the shadow and not

[59:31] attempting to fool anyone, we position

[59:35] ourselves to be better

[59:39] healing agents

[59:41] where we are healing our own individual

[59:44] selves and the collective.

[59:52] Still with me?

[59:54] non-lifeaffirming aspects of the shadow

[59:59] because we we we aim to keep the

[1:00:02] lifeaffirming aspects.

[1:00:05] Keep that in mind. Shadow in and of

[1:00:07] itself is not bad or something that

[1:00:09] needs just like ego. You don't need to

[1:00:12] get rid of it. In fact, you can't.

[1:00:15] How do you control it? How do you tame

[1:00:17] it? How do you steward it more

[1:00:20] effectively?

[1:00:23] So we want to position ourselves to we

[1:00:25] want to position ourselves to better

[1:00:28] heal our individual and collective

[1:00:32] non-lifeaffirming aspects of the shadow.

[1:00:36] Science of mind and spirit 4.0 know is a

[1:00:38] practice of radical honesty and

[1:00:42] vulnerability.

[1:00:44] As we acknowledge our willingness to

[1:00:48] make mistakes,

[1:00:50] as we transform,

[1:00:54] heal, and evolve together.

[1:01:00] Breathe.

[1:01:02] [snorts] This week's affirmation,

[1:01:05] our declaration.

[1:01:08] I will say it first and if it agrees

[1:01:10] with you, you agree with it, it

[1:01:12] resonates with you. I invite you to

[1:01:15] repeat it with me the second time.

[1:01:20] [snorts] I meet the collective shadow

[1:01:22] with spiritual courage,

[1:01:26] sacred activism,

[1:01:28] and healing transformative love.

[1:01:31] Together

[1:01:37] I meet the collective shadow with

[1:01:40] spiritual courage,

[1:01:43] sacred activism

[1:01:45] and healing

[1:01:47] transformative

[1:01:49] love.

[1:01:53] And [clears throat] so it is.

[1:01:56] And for those who attend our Thursday

[1:01:58] night study group or those who do the

[1:02:02] questions for your own

[1:02:05] personal journal work.

[1:02:08] Number one,

[1:02:10] if we believe

[1:02:13] the ultimate goal of life to be complete

[1:02:15] freedom from all discord of every nature

[1:02:18] and that this goal is sure to be

[1:02:20] attained by all,

[1:02:22] what do we know

[1:02:26] and what must we be in order to bring

[1:02:30] that level of liberation to the planet?

[1:02:38] Number two,

[1:02:40] what oops do I seek to avoid when

[1:02:45] avoiding them actually hinders my

[1:02:48] healing and my evolution?

[1:02:53] Number three,

[1:02:55] when have I attempted to fool someone

[1:02:58] else? And when have I attempted to fool

[1:03:02] myself?

[1:03:07] Number four,

[1:03:09] using the same process that an artist

[1:03:12] uses to create, how and what will I work

[1:03:16] on creating this week?

[1:03:21] In what ways do I get caught up in

[1:03:24] duality

[1:03:26] to the degree that duality

[1:03:30] triggers my shadow?

[1:03:37] Breathe.

[1:03:39] As always, we are also invited to have a

[1:03:42] conversation with someone. And this week

[1:03:46] conversation

[1:03:48] is about the core principles of Chong

[1:03:52] and how they can be applied to our daily

[1:03:56] lives

[1:03:57] and our shadow work.

[1:04:03] Breathe.

[1:04:05] As always, we close with prayer,

[1:04:09] anchoring into that energy

[1:04:12] as part of our work that is collectively

[1:04:17] creating, demonstrating a world that

[1:04:19] works both for us, through us, and as

[1:04:22] us.

[1:04:25] And so we breathe

[1:04:29] from that place of divine artistry just

[1:04:32] as the break dancers,

[1:04:35] the capoera

[1:04:38] performers and artists.

[1:04:43] We move through the choreography of

[1:04:46] life, balancing ourqi,

[1:04:49] both as it relates to the Chinese and

[1:04:53] Japanese use of the wordqi as that

[1:04:55] energy, but also how do we move and

[1:04:58] operate through the collective

[1:05:02] healing integration

[1:05:04] of yin yang,

[1:05:07] the shadow,

[1:05:09] the light,

[1:05:12] the hot, the hold

[1:05:14] the up, the down, the left, the right,

[1:05:17] the balance and harmony that recognizes

[1:05:21] not all discord is bad.

[1:05:25] Not all discord is non-lifeaff

[1:05:27] affirming. And so we discern which

[1:05:30] discord, which conflict

[1:05:33] is life affirming.

[1:05:36] And we follow that dance. [snorts] We

[1:05:39] follow that choreography. And through

[1:05:41] that we heal and transform not simply

[1:05:43] our own individual lives but we heal the

[1:05:46] collective

[1:05:48] one person at a time, three people at a

[1:05:52] time, one household at a time, one

[1:05:55] center at a time, one neighborhood, one

[1:05:58] city, one state, one country, one

[1:06:00] continent,

[1:06:03] one planet at a time.

[1:06:06] And so we breathe knowing that right

[1:06:08] here and right now that is the work we

[1:06:10] are doing in in simply this breath this

[1:06:13] awareness is part of the process.

[1:06:18] There is no need to fool ourselves about

[1:06:20] what is or is not

[1:06:24] simply to be comfortable.

[1:06:27] Sometimes it is the discomfort

[1:06:30] that is the part of the entertainment.

[1:06:33] Watching a spooky movie and being mildly

[1:06:37] uncomfortable in the oh my

[1:06:41] is part of the entertainment.

[1:06:44] riding a roller coaster and the

[1:06:46] exhilaration of is part of the

[1:06:48] entertainment. Even though there is the

[1:06:50] the anxiety and the and the possible

[1:06:53] fear of oh my goodness the ah and

[1:06:57] screaming

[1:07:00] and yet

[1:07:02] bungee jumping and yet

[1:07:05] skydiving and yet

[1:07:08] even in the midst of the oh my

[1:07:14] goodness

[1:07:17] and we breathe

[1:07:20] So discord, discomfort, conflict,

[1:07:24] mistakes

[1:07:26] are not automatically non-life

[1:07:28] affirming.

[1:07:29] It is about how they are being utilized,

[1:07:33] employed,

[1:07:35] applied.

[1:07:38] How is the individual shadow and the

[1:07:42] collective shadow being applied in ways

[1:07:45] that build, create, and support

[1:07:48] a world that works for all.

[1:07:51] So we continue to study and integrate

[1:07:55] and apply.

[1:07:58] That is how our evol evolution moves

[1:08:02] and transforms

[1:08:06] and frees [clears throat]

[1:08:08] emancipates

[1:08:10] all of life.

[1:08:14] The law continues to do what it always

[1:08:16] does. Therefore, this word is already

[1:08:19] sealed and already forming and already

[1:08:23] manifesting accordingly.

[1:08:26] And so, just like someone who is baking

[1:08:29] a cake, the cake is already baking.

[1:08:33] But once the cake is ready to come out

[1:08:35] of the oven, is that where we stop? No.

[1:08:39] We let it cool. Is that the end? No. And

[1:08:42] then we cut it. Is that the end? No. And

[1:08:46] then we serve it. And is that the end?

[1:08:48] No. And then we eat it,

[1:08:52] ingest it, enjoy it,

[1:08:57] and breathe.

[1:09:00] We do what is ours to do. What is the

[1:09:02] whole purpose of baking a cake? To taste

[1:09:04] it, to eat it, to enjoy it. What is the

[1:09:08] purpose of this prayer? What is the

[1:09:10] purpose of this spiritual work? To

[1:09:12] create a world that works for all. To

[1:09:14] enjoy it.

[1:09:16] to live and live life fully.

[1:09:21] And so, yes, the amen is in motion

[1:09:23] already.

[1:09:25] And so, we join the dance

[1:09:28] and enjoy it.

[1:09:31] And so it is.

[1:09:35] [snorts]

[1:09:36] And so it is. As always,

[1:09:40] blessings.

[1:09:42] Next time I see you, it will be

[1:09:45] November.

[1:09:47] So, I'm sure I will either see you

[1:09:48] sometime during the week or I will see

[1:09:50] you haha next month.

[1:09:54] Blessings as always, love and

[1:09:57] appreciation. See you soon.

[1:10:13] Today's message is complete [music]

[1:10:15] something to believe. Seed of truth that

[1:10:18] we can practice if we choose to receive.

[1:10:21] As we take the science of mind and

[1:10:23] spirit [music] fork pour it open to

[1:10:25] every corner of the world where the

[1:10:27] healing needs to go. We know it's not a

[1:10:30] secret can't lock behind [music] a door.

[1:10:33] It's the wisdom that we're living in and

[1:10:35] love is what we share it for. Now step

[1:10:38] into the world. [music] Be a healing

[1:10:40] hopeful beacon. You're walking the path

[1:10:42] and offering to all who may be seeking.

[1:10:45] Know it. Practice it. Give it every day.

[1:10:49] That's how [music] we heal the

[1:10:50] consciousness. We wash the ignorance

[1:10:52] away. Time to heal the world and make

[1:10:55] the vision [music] come true. No more

[1:10:57] waiting for someone else to do what we

[1:11:00] can do. With gratitude, [music]

[1:11:02] love, and a choice. Are we? We have

[1:11:05] principles, practices, and promises

[1:11:07] we're all going to keep. [music]

[1:11:15] [music]

[1:11:17] Take the teaching out into the busy

[1:11:19] street.

[1:11:20] [music] To every stranger and every soul

[1:11:23] you meet,

[1:11:25] dedication [music] to liberation is the

[1:11:27] key we hold. A story of freedom that's

[1:11:31] waiting to [music] be told. Right where

[1:11:34] you are is holy ground. Feel into your

[1:11:36] rhythm and the sacred sound. [music]

[1:11:37] You're an incarnation of the divine.

[1:11:39] You're holy, powerful, and good. And you

[1:11:41] are [music] called to be that in the

[1:11:43] world and do what only you could know.

[1:11:46] Practice it. Live it every [music] day.

[1:11:49] That's how we heal the consciousness. We

[1:11:51] wash the ignorance away. Time to heal

[1:11:54] [music] the world and make the vision

[1:11:56] come true. No more waiting for someone

[1:11:59] else to do what we can do with pride

[1:12:02] [music] to love and a joy so deep. We

[1:12:05] have principles, practices, and promises

[1:12:07] [music] we're all going to keep.

[1:12:13] [music]

[1:12:17] Be the change that you want to see.

[1:12:20] Unlock the chains [music]

[1:12:22] and set all life free. From the heart of

[1:12:25] the city to the jungles and open plains,

[1:12:29] [music] breaking the cycles of

[1:12:30] oppression and it's heavy chains. It's a

[1:12:33] revolution of the body, [music]

[1:12:35] the mind and the soul. Mending, making,

[1:12:38] and manifesting the broken parts now

[1:12:40] finally whole. Know it, practice it,

[1:12:43] [music] live it every day. That's how we

[1:12:45] heal the consciousness. We wash the

[1:12:48] ignorance away. Time [music] to heal the

[1:12:50] world and make the vision come true. No

[1:12:53] more waiting for someone else to do what

[1:12:56] we can do with pride [music] to love and

[1:12:59] a joy so deep. We have principles,

[1:13:02] practices, and promises we're all going

[1:13:04] to keep.

[1:13:07] [music]

[1:13:12] [music] Right where you are,

[1:13:15] you are sacred. Right where you are,

[1:13:19] shining so bright. Right where you are,

[1:13:22] the divine is expressing

[1:13:25] right where you are

[1:13:27] [music]

[1:13:27] life. So live it

[1:13:31] every day. Make the vision now come see

[1:13:33] [music]

[1:13:37] in divine is not far of watching. It is

[1:13:40] incarnating itself as [music] you.

[1:13:49] Have an amazing week and know that you

[1:13:50] are loved.

[1:13:52] [music]

[1:14:08] [music]

[1:14:14] >> [music]

[1:14:23] >> heat.

In this October 25 message, Reverend Dr. Raymont Anderson describes it as facing the collective shadow, the trauma, greed, anger, and fear passed down through generations, without denying it or being consumed by it. He frames the task as courageously identifying where these patterns show up and working to heal them.
Anderson uses the term for inherited patterns of oppression, disconnection, and domination that operate across groups and institutions rather than only within individuals. He argues these patterns show up in political, economic, educational, religious, and environmental systems, and must be addressed collectively.
Anderson says no, arguing that none of us are free until all of us are free. He contends that if personal liberation comes at the cost of others, it is not real liberation, because a person is still operating within a system that oppresses and enslaves.
Othering is the process of casting people as enemies or as less than human, which Anderson connects to separation between self and other. He argues that when people are dehumanized, it becomes far easier to enslave them or commit genocide, which is why he treats it as a root problem.
Anderson uses a breakdance battle to show opposition performed inside a shared form, where dancers contest each other but no one is harmed. He suggests we are all moving within a larger choreography of life, and that some people dance to the choreography of oppression instead.
Anderson uses a ballet analogy: a trained dancer can spot a misplaced position because she knows the form. He argues that a clear vision of liberation, peace, and justice is what lets us identify the distorted patterns of oppression and domination.
In this message, Anderson invites viewers to watch the archived Sunday messages from the Center for Spiritually Integrated Arts, to join its classes and events, and to email with questions. He says people are free to hold multiple affiliations with other churches or centers while participating.
