Full Moon in Taurus: What Does Real Security Mean Now?

Dana Damara opens her Astrocast the way a friend might open a phone call: "Hey there. How are you today?" Then she admits her bias almost immediately. Her moon sign is Taurus, and she says that when the moon goes full in her own sign she feels "this just sense of contentment." The ten-minute video is her reading of the Full Moon in Taurus on October 25, and its central question is one most people never say out loud: what does security actually mean to you now, and does the life you have built still reflect who you are becoming? Her answer is not a verdict. It is a set of pressure points, the Taurus–Scorpio axis, Pluto's tension with the luminaries, and Venus turning retrograde, each one pointing at the same thing: the places where comfort has quietly turned into habit.

What is the Full Moon in Taurus really asking?

Dana frames Taurus as a sign of home, heart, health, and pleasure. Her questions are practical and intimate: what makes you feel at home, what makes you feel comfortable, what brings pleasure into your days. She is careful to say that security is not only a financial matter. She names security in relationships, security in the way you make decisions, and the comfort of the life you have created, and she asks how safe you feel "even when things around you are changing."

That last point carries the weight of the whole reading. Taurus, she explains, is an earth sign concerned with values, relationships, and sensual enjoyment, and it "wants to slow down" and enjoy the present moment. "Taurus is all about nourishment and sustenance," she says (Dana Damara, Full Moon in Taurus Astrocast, 1:54). Stability in this framing is not a luxury. It is the ground that allows a person to feel nourished rather than depleted.

Why does Taurus clash with Scorpio on a full moon?

Every full moon is an opposition, with the moon and sun on opposite sides of the zodiac, and Dana notes that this lunation places the Moon in Taurus against the Sun in Scorpio. She treats the pairing as a conversation between two temperaments. Taurus wants comfort and preservation. Scorpio, in her telling, wants to go beneath the surface: "let's look at what we're attached to. Let's look at what we might need to transform" (Dana Damara, Full Moon in Taurus Astrocast, 2:17).

What makes this more than a theoretical tug-of-war is her candor about her own life. She says she is "going through this huge change" right now and that it is "very uncomfortable." Her insight is that comfort has two faces. There are seasons when stillness is exactly what we need, and "it's so important to actually create that sense of safety." But there are also moments when that same comfort becomes stagnation, and the work becomes expanding our capacity to receive, to give, and to handle what arrives. She uses a phrase that many listeners will recognize from the body-awareness world: the need to "regulate our nervous system." The Taurus instinct says protect what works. The Scorpio instinct asks whether protection has become avoidance.

Her shorthand for the full moon's challenge is blunt. It asks "what am I holding on to? Where am I playing it safe?" And it asks where we might be avoiding "something that could actually shift my life in an exponential, beautiful, beautiful way." The question is not whether change is good. It is whether fear is dressing itself up as a preference for calm.

What does Pluto have to do with the structures in your life?

Dana adds a second layer: Pluto in Aquarius is forming a tense configuration with the Sun and Moon during this lunation. In her reading, that tension "is going to intensify those themes of power, power struggle, empowerment, and transformation." Pluto, she says, is interested in the structures that shape our lives and whether those structures still support who we are becoming.

Her image for this is a scaffolding metaphor, and it is worth sitting with. "Think of Pluto in this moment as scaffolding," she says. "Is this really support? Is that scaffolding really supporting the relationships we want, our career, our financial situation, or even the expectations that we have for ourselves and other people?" (Dana Damara, Full Moon in Taurus Astrocast, 4:55).

The scaffolding framing solves a common trap. Many people, once they realize a structure no longer fits, assume the only honest response is demolition. Dana rejects that binary. "I don't think that the answer in that moment in time is just to scrap it and throw everything away," she says. Often the wiser move is refinement. As she puts it elsewhere in the same segment, if the answer is no, "don't pull the plug. Just kind of make some revisions, some little refining shifts." Her reasoning is generous: "it just means that we've outgrown something and that's okay." Outgrowing a shape is not the same as failing at it.

Why does Venus retrograde matter for self-worth?

Venus is the planetary ruler of Taurus, and Dana makes it the hinge of the reading. She notes that Venus is retrograde during this full moon and that on October 25 it returns into Libra. Libra brings attention to "relationships, reciprocity, beauty, self-worth, self-value." She describes the period as one of reconsidering all of those things, and she lists the ways they might show up: how we give and receive love, how we handle money, the standards we set for ourselves, and "the things that we actually believe we need in order to feel valued" (Dana Damara, Full Moon in Taurus Astrocast, 6:06).

Her questions here are sharp and worth journaling on. Have you been giving more than you actually have the capacity to give? Have you been "giving more than my cup has"? Have you been valuing your time? Have you been pursuing a version of success that is no longer aligned with what you believe?

To make the last question concrete, Dana tells a story about a post she once shared about a preference: she would rather ride in a safari vehicle in the middle of Africa than own a Lamborghini. Then she admits her own history: "never a Lamborghini, but definitely a Mercedes. I always wanted a Mercedes. But now it doesn't really matter to me." Her point is simple and exact: "things shift as we shift." The aspiration that once felt like security may now be a costume.

How should you work with this full moon in practice?

Dana also flags that Mercury is going into retrograde. In her framing, Mercury retrograde slows thought processes and asks us to pause, which is exactly what she wants listeners to do with this lunation. She recommends slowing down enough to ask whether the things we are building, whether relationships, friendships, career, or home, are still aligned with the space we are in now.

The practice is intentionally modest. She offers three questions for a full moon reflection, and she is clear that they are openings rather than tests:

  • What am I holding on to because it feels safe even though it no longer feels true?
  • What does security and safety actually mean to me at this stage of my life?
  • If I actually trusted myself to navigate change, what might I really be willing to let go of?

She adds one instruction that matters: "don't force an answer." She also says she will be journaling with the same questions herself (Dana Damara, Full Moon in Taurus Astrocast, 9:28). That small admission turns the video from a forecast into an invitation to practice alongside her.

The reading also keeps a seasonal frame in view. Dana points toward the end of the calendar year, when the holidays and the new year often prompt people to make changes. A full moon that asks what is still true is well timed for that transition.

Where to go from here

If this reading landed for you, the most useful next step is the one Dana herself models: take the three questions and write for ten or fifteen minutes without trying to resolve them. Notice where the word "safe" appears in your answers and whether it is describing something real or something merely familiar. Look at one structure in your life, a relationship pattern, a work arrangement, a standard you hold for yourself, and ask whether it needs demolition or only a few refining shifts. Pay attention to where you give more than your cup holds, and to what you still want out of success now.

For the broader rhythm of her work, Dana publishes weekly forecasts and lunar updates, which she links in the video description, along with the deeper conversations she has about astrology, embodiment, and conscious living. Her closing line is the one to carry into the week: this full moon is an invitation to create a different kind of security, "one that comes from trusting yourself as your life evolves rather than needing everything to remain the same."

[0:01] Hey there. How are you today? My name is

[0:03] Dana Damara and you have landed on Astro

[0:05] cast. This is a recording for the full

[0:07] moon in Taurus. Oh my gosh.

[0:11] My moon sign is Taurus, so I love when

[0:13] we have full moon in Taurus. I

[0:15] I always feel this just sense of

[0:17] contentment during this time. I want to

[0:20] go over the full moon and actually

[0:24] how it could be affecting you. So, the

[0:26] full moon is on October 25th at

[0:29] approximately 9:11 p.m. Pacific Standard

[0:32] Time.

[0:33] The theme I want to explore with you is

[0:37] really about coming home to yourself.

[0:40] So, Taurus is all about home, heart,

[0:43] health, pleasure.

[0:45] Really

[0:46] asking ourselves, what is it that makes

[0:50] me feel at home?

[0:52] What makes me feel comfortable? What

[0:54] brings pleasure to my life? What does it

[0:57] really mean to feel secure

[1:00] in my life? Like, what what are those

[1:03] things that help me feel secure? Not

[1:05] just financially secure. I'm talking

[1:08] about security in a relationship,

[1:11] security in decision-making processes,

[1:15] decision in the comfortableness of the

[1:19] life that you've created, right?

[1:22] Even when things around you are

[1:24] changing, how safe and secure do you

[1:27] feel?

[1:28] That's like the big question Taurus

[1:29] wants to know. And Taurus is is a earth

[1:33] sign. Taurus really talks about and is

[1:35] concerned with our values and our

[1:38] relationships and our sense of pleasure.

[1:40] And, you know, Taurus wants to

[1:42] experience the best things in life. It

[1:45] wants to slow down. It wants to, you

[1:47] know, enjoy what is happening in this

[1:49] exact moment and create a sense of

[1:52] stability that actually allows us to

[1:54] feel nourished. Taurus is all about

[1:57] nourishment and sustenance.

[2:00] And every full moon brings opposing

[2:03] conversations because it's opposite the

[2:05] sun, right? And so, full moon in Taurus

[2:08] opposite the sun in Scorpio.

[2:12] Taurus wants comfortableness.

[2:15] I know that's not a word. Scorpio's

[2:17] like, "Mhm, let's get under the surface

[2:20] and actually just see what's real."

[2:24] >> [gasps]

[2:24] >> Let's look at like what we're attached

[2:26] to. Let's look at what we might need to

[2:29] transform. And so, we have this

[2:31] beautiful Taurus energy

[2:34] that wants to preserve what is valuable

[2:37] and what is comfortable and pleasurable.

[2:39] And Scorpio's like, "Are you really sure

[2:42] that's what you want to do? Because

[2:44] maybe you're just

[2:45] forcing yourself to be stagnant.

[2:48] Maybe the comfortableness

[2:51] I'm going to keep saying it that way. Is

[2:53] just about you not

[2:56] having the courage to make a change. So,

[3:00] I really can't express upon

[3:04] and I'm going through this huge change

[3:06] in my life right now and

[3:08] it is very uncomfortable. But, I know

[3:12] personally that there is a moment in

[3:15] time where where being comfortable

[3:18] actually creates a sense of stagnation

[3:21] and stillness. Which is

[3:24] so good at certain times in our life.

[3:27] It's It's so important to actually

[3:29] create that sense of safety.

[3:31] And at the same time, there's also

[3:33] moments in time where we have to expand

[3:36] our capacity. We have to

[3:38] to expand our capacity to receive, to

[3:42] give, you know,

[3:44] to be able to handle what's thrown our

[3:47] way, right? To be able to regulate our

[3:50] nervous system for lack of a better

[3:52] phrase. So,

[3:54] Taurus is like, let's be comfortable,

[3:56] but Scorpio is like, let me just

[3:58] challenge you a little bit.

[4:00] So, this full moon is really going to

[4:03] ask, you know, what am I holding on to?

[4:06] Where am I playing it safe?

[4:09] Um

[4:10] and and avoiding something that could

[4:12] actually shift my life in an

[4:14] exponential, beautiful, beautiful way.

[4:18] Right?

[4:19] So, it's big. And those are the two

[4:21] That's always going to happen on a full

[4:22] moon. Well, not always going to happen

[4:24] on a full moon. Full moon Taurus, it's

[4:25] always going to be opposite the sun.

[4:28] Now, let me just say a couple of things.

[4:29] Let me share a couple of things here.

[4:31] Pluto in Aquarius is forming

[4:33] a very tense configuration with the sun

[4:36] and the moon.

[4:37] Okay? It's going to intensify those

[4:40] themes of power, power struggle,

[4:43] empowerment, and transformation.

[4:46] Because Pluto wants us to look at the

[4:49] structures that actually shape our lives

[4:52] and consider whether they actually

[4:55] support who we're becoming. Like, think

[4:56] of Pluto in this moment as scaffolding.

[5:00] Is this really support Is that

[5:02] scaffolding really supporting the

[5:04] relationships we want, our career, our

[5:08] our financial situation, or even the

[5:10] expectations that we have for our self

[5:14] and other people? I mean, it's just

[5:16] Pluto really wants you to to look at

[5:18] that scaffolding and say, is this really

[5:21] aligned with what I'm trying to build?

[5:25] Right? And and this is challenging

[5:27] because what if we've built this

[5:28] scaffolding and all of a sudden we're

[5:30] like,

[5:31] This isn't really what I want

[5:33] anymore.

[5:35] Right? And I don't think that the answer

[5:38] in that moment in time is just to scrap

[5:40] it and throw everything away or assume

[5:43] that we need to tear everything down.

[5:45] Sometimes we just simply need to become

[5:49] a a a little bit more

[5:52] delicate and resigned in what we're

[5:55] building.

[5:57] And this is really where Venus

[6:01] and which by the way is a planetary

[6:04] ruler of Taurus becomes especially

[6:06] important. Remember Venus is in

[6:08] retrograde

[6:10] and it's in retrograde during the full

[6:11] moon and on October 25th during the full

[6:15] moon it will return into Libra bringing

[6:19] our attention right back into

[6:21] relationships, reciprocity, beauty,

[6:25] self-worth, self-value.

[6:28] So this is a period of of reconsidering

[6:31] all of those things.

[6:34] So we may be looking at the way that we

[6:37] give and receive love for example or

[6:39] money and the standards that we set for

[6:41] ourselves and the things that we

[6:43] actually believe we need in order to

[6:46] feel valued.

[6:48] And so questions you can ask yourself is

[6:50] you know

[6:51] have I been giving more than I actually

[6:56] have the capacity to give? Have I been

[6:57] giving more than my cup has, right? Um

[7:03] have I been

[7:05] valuing my time?

[7:08] Have I been working toward a version of

[7:11] what I feel like success is but it's not

[7:15] even

[7:16] aligned with what I believe anymore?

[7:20] I I use the

[7:22] example of I posted this thing a while

[7:25] back where it was like how how can I

[7:28] actually explain that I would rather be

[7:30] riding in a safari vehicle in the middle

[7:33] of Africa than owning a Lamborghini.

[7:37] Like it's like that, right?

[7:40] It's like what is important to you?

[7:42] But maybe years ago that might have been

[7:45] important to me. Never a Lamborghini,

[7:46] but definitely a Mercedes. I always

[7:48] wanted a Mercedes.

[7:50] But now it doesn't really matter to me.

[7:52] That doesn't matter to me. You see, so

[7:53] things shift as we shift.

[7:56] Now Mercury is also going to go into

[7:58] retrograde.

[7:59] And so when Mercury goes into

[8:00] retrograde, it it's going to slow us

[8:02] down in our thought processes. It's

[8:04] going to ask us to pause so we can get

[8:07] really clear

[8:09] on all of these things that I'm talking

[8:11] about.

[8:13] And so to work with this full moon, I

[8:15] really encourage you to just slow down

[8:19] and ask yourself those questions, right?

[8:21] Like

[8:22] are these things that I'm building? Cuz

[8:24] sometimes we can get really wrapped up

[8:26] in what we're doing.

[8:28] Right?

[8:30] Are these things that I'm building, the

[8:31] relationship, the friendships, the

[8:34] career, the home, the whatever, are they

[8:36] still aligned with my with with this

[8:39] space?

[8:41] And then if there's a no answer, don't

[8:44] pull the plug.

[8:46] Just kind of make some revisions, some

[8:48] little refining shifts.

[8:50] Right? Because it just means that we've

[8:52] outgrown something and that's okay.

[8:54] We're supposed to.

[8:56] Because when we slow down, we can notice

[8:58] what genuinely makes us feel good.

[9:03] This is such a big full moon and we're

[9:05] headed toward the end of the calendar

[9:07] year, which to me is like

[9:09] and

[9:11] but for a lot of people out there, we

[9:13] look at the

[9:15] coming of the holidays and the the new

[9:18] year as a time to make some changes. So

[9:21] here's what I'm going to say.

[9:23] For your full moon reflection,

[9:25] I really want you to consider three

[9:28] different questions, okay?

[9:31] And this is just

[9:33] an opportunity.

[9:35] What am I holding on to because it feels

[9:37] safe even though it no longer feels

[9:40] true?

[9:41] Right? Because there's a difference.

[9:44] And what does security and safety

[9:48] actually mean to me at this stage of my

[9:50] life?

[9:52] And then the last one I'm going to throw

[9:54] out there for you, if I actually trusted

[9:56] myself to navigate change,

[9:59] what might I really be willing to let go

[10:03] of?

[10:04] And don't force an answer. Just put

[10:06] those questions out there and trust me,

[10:09] I'm asking you those questions and I'm

[10:11] going to be journaling with those

[10:12] questions, too. So.

[10:15] >> [sighs]

[10:16] >> If you want your chart read, go to

[10:17] astrocast.live. It's my page on my

[10:20] website that is everything astrology.

[10:22] You'll also get the dates for the new

[10:25] moon webinars that I'm hosting once a

[10:27] month.

[10:28] And I hope to see you in class at some

[10:30] point in time and I hope this is helpful

[10:33] somehow somehow. Have such a beautiful

[10:35] day. Namaste.

Dana Damara reads this full moon as a prompt to ask what security really means now, beyond finances. She points to relationships, decision-making, and the comfort of the life you have built, and asks whether that comfort still reflects who you are becoming.
A full moon always places the moon opposite the sun, which here means the Moon in Taurus opposes the Sun in Scorpio. Dana describes Taurus wanting to preserve what is comfortable and Scorpio asking what you are attached to and what might need to transform.
Dana says Pluto in Aquarius forms a tense configuration with the Sun and Moon, intensifying themes of power, empowerment, and transformation. She suggests thinking of Pluto as scaffolding and asking whether the structures in your life still support who you are becoming.
Dana advises against scrapping everything. If the answer to 'does this still fit?' is no, she suggests making revisions and refining shifts, because outgrowing something is a sign of growth rather than failure.
Dana offers three questions: what am I holding on to because it feels safe even though it no longer feels true; what security and safety mean to me at this stage of life; and what I might be willing to let go of if I trusted myself to navigate change. She says not to force an answer.
Dana notes Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is retrograde during the full moon and returns to Libra on October 25. She links this to relationships, reciprocity, beauty, and self-worth, asking how you give and receive love, handle money, and define what you need to feel valued.
Dana recommends slowing down, pausing as Mercury goes retrograde, and journaling with her three questions. The goal is to notice what genuinely makes you feel good and what has quietly stopped being true, without rushing to answers.
