Skylar Liberty Rose is a midlife guide and pro-aging advocate, originally from London and a New Yorker since 2014, now based in Pawling, New York. She works with midlife women around the world, helping them navigate change, question the expectations they've lived by, and reconnect with what they want now.
Her work takes two forms. Touchstones are personalized meditations created around what a woman is reclaiming, to return to each day in language that keeps her connected to her truth. Customized Ceremonies mark a midlife transition, so a woman leaves with clarity about what she is releasing and what she is choosing to carry forward, in person or virtually. She also creates custom meditations for retreats, built around a retreat's themes and intentions so participants can keep using them afterwards. Her meditations have been played more than 150,000 times on Insight Timer.
Skylar came to this work through her own reclamation. In her thirties, she had a life that looked right on paper but felt wrong inside. She went on to divorce, travel solo in India for six months, change her name, remarry and move to New York. She says she needed a daily anchor and a moment of declaration then, and that the work she does now is the work she needed.
Her work has been featured by Women You Should Know, The Pro-Age Woman, Authority Magazine, CNN, Huff Post and The National Women's History Museum.
Worth Knowing
Skylar Liberty Rose is a midlife guide and pro-aging advocate who grew up in London, has lived in New York since 2014, and is now based in Pawling, New York. Her work is aimed specifically at midlife women around the world who are navigating change, questioning the expectations they have lived by, and reconnecting with what they want now. What sets her apart in the meditation and mindfulness space is that she creates personalized meditations built around what a particular woman is reclaiming, rather than general-audience sessions. Her meditations have been played more than 150,000 times on Insight Timer, a large audience for work this specific. Her own story is central to the approach: in her thirties, a life that looked right on paper felt wrong inside, and she went on to divorce, spend six months travelling solo in India, change her name, remarry, and move to New York. Listeners tend to value that she speaks from lived reclamation rather than from theory. The register is restrained and practical, which makes her a useful reference point for conversations about wellness and later life.
