Moshe Halperin is a dreamscape songwriter, guitarist, singer and medicine music artist. He blends ambient, popular and world music influences with lyrics meant for a wide audience, creating a sonic world of mindfulness and self-discovery. His passion for diverse musical cultures and traditions has led him to collaborate with musicians and recording artists from around the world.
Moshe was entrusted with sacred songs of the Huni Kuin tribe in the Brazilian Amazon through his friendship with the shamans Ninawa Pai de Mata and Txana Ikikuru. They share a belief in the deep healing qualities of musical vibration and bring together people from across the world to benefit from medicinal prayers and songs. His recording "Ayahuasca Urkumanta" is an arrangement of an Icaro originally recorded by Don Evangelino Murayay, with lyrics in Quechua and Spanish. Another release, "I Wish," is a ballad of love and regret co-written with composer Jeff Franzel, and "The Moon Is My Mother" is a poetic ballad about connection, resilience and guidance. His first album is "Golden Heart."
In 2010 he began working with Bettina Maureenji, a classical Indian musician and voice teacher, and they have played many concerts together around the world. His music has been featured in meditation apps, yoga studios, luxury spas and wellness festivals. He is co-founder and music curator of Medicine Festival, which showcases the global expansion of medicine music. He holds a music publishing deal with Warner Music Worldwide and is signed as a writer to Stardust Records.
Moshe also facilitates group workshops for festivals and for healing and personal development retreats, including singing circles and songwriting retreats. He holds Sacred Singing and Prayer Circles in the UK with fellow musician George Barker.
Worth Knowing
Moshe Halperin is a dreamscape songwriter, guitarist, singer and medicine music artist who also works as a meditation teacher, leading singing circles and songwriting retreats. What sets the work apart is the blend of ambient, popular and world music influences with lyrics written for a wide audience, rather than the abstract drones common in devotional recordings. Much of the interest comes from his sacred songs of the Huni Kuin people of the Brazilian Amazon, which he was entrusted with through his friendship with the shamans Ninawa Pai de Mata and Txana Ikikuru. He is also co-founder and music curator of Medicine Festival, which tracks the global spread of medicine music beyond its origins. His music has appeared in meditation apps, yoga studios, luxury spas and wellness festivals, so many listeners meet him in a practice setting before they follow him as a songwriter. Serious fans stay for the combination of performer, teacher and curator in one career, which is uncommon in this space.
