Descrizione
Mito-Meno Restore is an eight-day metabolic health retreat in Kampot, Cambodia, for neurodivergent women in perimenopause. It is led by metabolic health coach Hannah Anstee, with gentle movement and energy practices from Rosa Mullen. The group is small, with eight places in total, five standard and three with one-to-one support. The retreat is built for women whose burnout has not lifted with rest alone, including those living with fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, hypothyroidism or PMDD. Diagnosis is not required; knowing your nervous system works differently is enough.
What to Expect
The retreat teaches rather than simply provides time away. Each morning Hannah leads a low-demand metabolic health workshop on the science of mitochondria, the Cell Danger Response and how to signal safety to the nervous system, so that guests leave with skills they can keep using at home. Everything is designed to minimise demands, and nothing is compulsory.
Arrivals are welcomed from 3pm on the first day, with a welcome dinner at 6pm. On the days that follow, the rhythm runs like this:
- 7:00 AM: optional gentle morning movement with Rosa
- 8:00 to 9:00 AM: silent breakfast
- 10:00 AM: metabolic health workshop with Hannah
- 12:00 PM: unhurried lunch
- Afternoons: free for rest, bodywork, a hammock or local excursions
- 5:00 PM: optional gentle yoga or energy workshop, on alternate days
- 6:00 PM: dinner
- 7:30 PM: optional wind-down with meditation, restorative yoga, Reiki or yoga nidra
Movement includes digestive yoga, mindful movement and face yoga. The bioenergy practices are Tai Chi, Qi Gong, tapping and Reiki. There is no expectation to mask, perform or make conversation, and meals can be taken alone or in your room.
About Hannah Anstee
Hannah Anstee is a qualified metabolic health coach who works with neurodivergent women in perimenopause. She describes herself as a burnout reclaimer and a late-discovered AuDHDer. Her background is in social work, education and mentoring. Her approach comes from lived experience: she has spoken of years of chronic fatigue, CFS and burnout, including time bed bound, before she came to understand her own Cell Danger Response. Learning the science of her mitochondria and working with her biology rather than against it changed things for her, and she now helps other women do the same.
About Rosa Mullen
Rosa Mullen leads the movement and energy sessions, including gentle yoga, mindful movement and face yoga, all optional and adapted to each guest.
The Setting
The retreat takes place in a private villa in Kampot, set deep in tropical garden among coconut palms, orchids and banana trees. Each guest has a private ensuite room with solid wooden furniture, cotton bedding, air conditioning and a private outdoor seating area. The bathrooms are kept free of synthetic smells and visual clutter.
Food is vegetarian and prepared by a private chef. It is deliberately generous, with no restriction and no long fasting windows, and it is designed to keep blood sugar steady. Breakfast is a quiet buffet of overnight oats, tropical fruit, yogurt and breads with toppings. Lunches might include mezze boards, miso tempeh bowls or Khmer-inspired tabbouleh with black rice. Daily desserts are included. Safe foods, sensory needs and dietary requirements are arranged with each guest before arrival. A concierge handles logistics such as pharmacy runs, market errands and booking massages or excursions.
Before You Go
No yoga or meditation experience is needed. Sessions are in English. Guests should be able to walk short distances, with walking sticks welcome, and have enough capacity to take part in daily workshops. The villa is not equipped for wheelchair access.
The retreat is alcohol-free, and guests are asked to reduce daytime screen use during sessions and meals, though WiFi is available. It is not suited to anyone in a severe episode of depression or acute anxiety, or to those seeking a luxury holiday or a supplement-based solution. Hannah offers separate one-to-one retreats for women in very deep burnout.
Included are seven nights in your room, three meals a day, water, juices, herbal teas and coffee, all workshops and movement sessions, concierge support, WiFi and private transfers to and from Phnom Penh. International flights are not included. Travel insurance is a condition of attendance, and massage, bodywork and excursions are paid locally.
