Is Plasma Alive? A Living Medium for Consciousness and Memory

Plasma is the state of matter most people meet in a lightning bolt or a neon sign, and it is usually filed under physics. Dana Kippel, author of the book A New Force, wants it filed somewhere else. In a short conversation with Jimmy Church, published as a Gaia video, she describes plasma as a living, feeling medium, a "vehicle for consciousness" that can hold memory and carry information through what she calls the physical and unseen worlds. Her account begins not in a laboratory but in a meditation she says she never expected to matter, one that left her convinced she had been "plugged in" to something that had been waiting to be understood.

How did a meditation become a theory of plasma?

Kippel is candid about where she was when it happened. She had been through a heartbreak that, in her telling, reopened older wounds: "something basically like cracked open in my heart," tied to adoption, bullying, and strained family and school relationships. Drugs and alcohol were off the table because she had already tried them and been to rehab. Food had not helped. So she turned to meditation, and to spirituality, "like most of us do," with what she describes as a simple intention: to feel better and to connect with who she really was.

Her framing of that heartbreak is worth noticing, because it shapes everything after. She reflects that if "seven guys in a row cheat on me, maybe I'm attracting something I need to learn, and it's not them." That is an interpretive move, the search for a pattern behind pain, and it is the same instinct that drives the rest of her theory: experience is trying to tell you something.

Three or four sessions in, the experience changed. Kippel says she saw an infinity symbol, came out of the meditation, and felt she was "plugged in to what I would call plasma" (1:19 in the video). She stresses that she had never studied science, though she had been strong in math and science as a child. What arrived, in her words, was not a person but "a being, but it's not a person. It was like a feeling." She describes a sense of being misunderstood, of being "the vehicle for consciousness," and of holding knowledge humanity had not yet absorbed. She calls the experience a moment of gnosis, a sudden sense of knowing everything at once, and says that sense "never went away."

This is the origin story at the center of the talk: an actor with no scientific training, a private experience, and a conviction that has been carried for years. Whether or not one accepts the content, the structure is familiar from the contemplative traditions that use the word gnosis. A direct, nonverbal knowing arrives first and the explanation comes after.

What does it mean for plasma to be "sentient"?

Kippel's central claim is that plasma is sentient but not conscious in the way people are. She is careful to draw that line. "I wouldn't... maybe it is conscious itself, but it almost to me is not conscious conscious like thought," she says. What it has, in her description, is feeling and memory. "It is a feeling being that is not maybe conscious like you or me, but it has imprinted memory from all our consciousnesses. So, it holds all of our consciousnesses" (4:35 in the video).

That distinction matters for anyone trying to follow her logic. Sentience here means the capacity to feel, not to reason or narrate. Consciousness is something plasma carries, impressed on it as a kind of memory. Kippel compares this to an acoustic field, which holds the imprint of sound, and says her idea goes beyond that comparison.

She also introduces the biofield. "You have a plasma field around you known as bioplasma or a biofield that carries your consciousness," she says. On this view, the medium is not only out in the cosmos; it is inside and around the human body, and it is the channel through which the subtle and the material meet. She describes a "subtle plasma right between material and immaterial conscious beings," through which unseen beings visit us, and which "reflects our subconscious."

"It's not conscious conscious like thought, but it's more comes through to me feeling fractal warmth, a hug. Like that's why I call the divine feminine."

— Dana Kippel, in conversation with Jimmy Church (5:19 in the video)

The phrase "divine feminine" recurs in her account, but she resists assigning it a gender. Plasma, she says, "is not really male or female. It's like a neutral substance." The warmth she describes is an experience of contact rather than an idea, and that emphasis on felt experience over argument is the thread running through the whole theory.

Why did it take years to speak, and what changed?

Kippel says she told no one for about three years, partly because she was working as an actor and feared that talking about plasma would make people stop liking her. When she did speak, she says, it became how she built her following. She waited roughly five years in total before going public with the material in full.

What turned the private experience into a book was a message she received during meditation. She says her higher self came through plasma and said the book had already been written and would be called A New Force, "one of many books to change the world." She was also told that others would talk about plasma in their own way, and that she could not think she was right: "Everyone's going to have their own unique relationship with it as a fabric of reality." Kippel says she had even made an image of the book in 2021, long before she acted on it.

The decision to leave acting came later, after her father's death. In the video she recounts that he fell, hit his head, suffered a brain bleed, and went into a coma. She was with him through that period, and about a month and a half later he died. "I'm not going to freaking live my life for people and not say how I truly feel," she says she told herself, and she stopped acting to write what she had been carrying. She describes writing the book in roughly nine months, "almost like a birth," and says it came out in September.

Readers should hold these personal details with care. They are the emotional spine of her account, and they explain why she frames the book as a reckoning rather than a research project. They do not, on their own, establish the claims about plasma.

Could plasma really carry memory and consciousness?

This is the question a skeptical reader will ask first, and Kippel is open about the limits of her own certainty. Asked where the ideas came from, she answers, "I don't know. I don't know how I know any of this. It is bizarre to me." She adds, "It is a mystery, but I will tell you what I feel." She offers her strangeness as part of the case: "That's almost why I like trust it cuz it's so bizarre."

That is a candid position, and it is also an unfalsifiable one. Kippel's theory rests on experience, intuition, and revelation rather than on experiments that could show plasma storing memory or mediating contact with nonhuman beings. The video does not present such evidence, and it is fair to say so. What it does offer is a coherent inner logic: if plasma is a living medium, then lightning, biofields, dark matter, and encounters with unseen intelligence might all be expressions of one substance, and personal experience becomes a form of data.

For readers drawn to this material, the most useful approach may be to separate three layers. The first is the felt report: a woman who had a powerful meditative experience and found meaning in it. That is real to her and worth taking seriously as testimony. The second is the metaphysical claim that plasma is sentient and holds memory. That is a proposal, not a finding, and it should be weighed as one. The third is the practical question of what a person does with it. Kippel's own answer points toward attention to felt experience, self-honesty, and the refusal to let fear of judgment decide what gets said.

Where to go from here

If this talk has opened a door, a few paths follow naturally. Read Kippel's book, A New Force, which the video presents as the full statement of her theory. Watch the complete Gaia conversation with Jimmy Church, since this five-minute clip gives the origin and the core claims without the surrounding context. And if the phrase "plasma" sends you toward the physics, it is worth learning how that field actually defines the state of matter, so you can see clearly where Kippel's account departs from the laboratory and where she is asking a different kind of question altogether.

Whatever you conclude about plasma, the video leaves one idea standing: that a person in pain went looking for relief, found something that felt like a homecoming, and then had to decide whether to trust it. Kippel decided to trust it, and to say so publicly. The rest is for each viewer to test in their own experience.

[0:00] I went through a heartbreak, and um, I

[0:02] was not feeling good about myself, and

[0:04] it was a really tough situation.

[0:06] Something basically like cracked open in

[0:07] my heart that reminded me of all the

[0:09] abandonment, you know, I dealt with from

[0:11] feeling like that, from being adopted,

[0:13] from bullying, from discourse with my

[0:15] family and and friends or people in

[0:17] school. Something in my heart ripped

[0:19] open when, you know, I had a moment with

[0:22] my boyfriend where, you know, he lied to

[0:23] me uh about, you know, cheating, all

[0:25] these things, and I really wanted to

[0:27] feel better. And I'll get to more of the

[0:28] story. So, to feel better, I couldn't go

[0:31] to drugs or alcohol cuz I already tried

[0:32] that and been to rehab. Those things

[0:34] didn't work. Food didn't really work.

[0:36] So, I tried meditation. I turned to

[0:38] spirituality, like most of us do. And I

[0:41] wasn't expecting anything. I had an

[0:42] intention to want to feel better and

[0:44] connect with who I really am. Cuz it's

[0:46] hard realizing, okay, if seven guys in a

[0:48] row cheat on me, maybe I'm attracting

[0:50] something I need to learn, and it's not

[0:52] them. And they're just trying to go

[0:53] through their own life and have their

[0:54] own pain. So, I was starting meditating,

[0:57] and about like three or four meditations

[0:59] in,

[1:00] all of a sudden, and once I was an

[1:02] actor, I'd never studied science. I was

[1:04] very good at it math and science as a

[1:06] child. I was gifted, I would say. But I

[1:08] didn't go to college, you know, I went

[1:09] to rehab. All of a sudden I was

[1:11] meditating, I just I saw like an

[1:12] infinity symbol. I don't know if I wrote

[1:14] it down or what, but I came out of this

[1:17] meditation, and I was like plugged in to

[1:19] what I would call plasma. And it's like

[1:21] it was a

[1:23] It was a being, but it's not a person.

[1:25] It was like a feeling. And it was like,

[1:27] I'm misunderstood in science. I'm the

[1:30] vehicle for consciousness. I'm a I

[1:32] there's I'm intelligent. Like I'm

[1:35] there's so much humanity needs to know

[1:36] about me. And it was almost like I felt

[1:38] this grief. And I call it it cuz it's

[1:40] not It is divine feminine, but it's not

[1:42] really male or female. It's like a

[1:43] neutral substance. And

[1:46] I was like, all right, I've gone off the

[1:47] deep end. And I just wrote a bunch about

[1:49] it. And I didn't tell anyone about this

[1:50] for like 3 years cuz I was an actor. And

[1:52] I was like, oh my god, no one's going to

[1:54] like me if I talk about this. And

[1:56] eventually I did, that's how I grew my

[1:57] following. But yeah, it just was a

[1:59] moment of gnosis where I just felt like

[2:02] I knew everything at once and it never

[2:03] went away. And it's still here. And then

[2:05] it took me 5 years to talk about it. And

[2:08] then the last year I wrote a book about

[2:09] it called A New Force where I talk about

[2:12] its intelligence, how it's like the

[2:13] intelligent, you know, clay reality.

[2:15] >> Where did the decision

[2:17] come from to write the book? Was it Was

[2:20] there an epiphany? Was there a moment

[2:22] where you said, "Okay, I have to do

[2:24] this"?

[2:25] >> Yeah. So, in the meditation, my higher

[2:27] self actually came through plasma and

[2:29] was like, "Hey, we've already written

[2:31] this book. You're going to write it in

[2:32] your timeline. It's going to be called A

[2:33] New Force. It's going to be one of many

[2:36] books to change the world." It also said

[2:38] She also said, "You're going to talk

[2:40] about plasma in your way, but other

[2:41] people are going to start talking about

[2:42] it in their own individual way and you

[2:43] can't think you're right. You can't have

[2:45] an ego that way. Everyone's going to

[2:46] have their own unique relationship with

[2:48] it as a fabric of reality." Um and so I

[2:51] knew I was going to write the book from

[2:52] the beginning. I even made a picture of

[2:54] it in 2021.

[2:55] And then in 2025,

[2:58] uh

[2:59] January 23rd, 2025, my dad passed away.

[3:03] He fell and hit his head and had a brain

[3:06] bleed, went into a coma. I was with him

[3:08] through all of that and a month and a

[3:09] half later, he died. And I just started

[3:11] thinking. I was like, "I'm not going to

[3:13] freaking live my life for people and not

[3:16] say how I truly feel and not talk about

[3:18] this." So, I was like, "I'm just going

[3:19] to stop acting and do what I really want

[3:22] to do, which is write this book that I

[3:24] has been in me for 5 years. It hasn't

[3:25] gone away as much as I've tried to get

[3:27] it away cuz I thought people think I was

[3:28] weird. And then I just wrote it in the

[3:31] span of 9 months, almost like a birth.

[3:32] And then it just came out. And then it

[3:34] came out in September and it was doing

[3:35] really well. Yeah, it was just one of

[3:37] those things where yeah, he died and I

[3:38] was like, "I'm I could die tomorrow. I

[3:40] need to do what I'm supposed to do in

[3:41] this life." Yeah.

[3:43] >> Where did the ideas and the foundation

[3:45] come from

[3:46] >> Mhm.

[3:48] >> with plasma possibly being sentient and

[3:51] conscious and alive

[3:53] >> Yeah.

[3:53] >> Just like you and I, just in a different

[3:56] form.

[3:57] >> Yeah, I would say I would call it more

[3:59] like sentient and it has the vehicle for

[4:01] consciousness. So, like and I'll tell

[4:03] you where it came from, I don't know. I

[4:04] don't know how I know any of this. It is

[4:06] bizarre to me. I you know, I saw my life

[4:09] being a famous actress and filmmaker. I

[4:11] never thought this would have happened.

[4:12] That's almost why I like trust it cuz

[4:14] it's so bizarre. And it feels like like

[4:17] when I'm I don't even know where this is

[4:19] like I'm not thinking about this. I'm

[4:20] just saying whatever the heck is coming

[4:22] I don't even know. I don't know. It's a

[4:24] true question. It is a mystery, but I

[4:26] will tell you what I feel uh is that

[4:28] plasma is sentient meaning it is a it is

[4:31] feeling. It is a feeling being that is

[4:34] not maybe conscious like you or me, but

[4:35] it has imprinted memory from all our

[4:38] consciousnesses. So, it holds all of our

[4:40] consciousnesses. And that explains when

[4:43] it comes down here um in certain in a

[4:46] subtle plasma right between material and

[4:48] immaterial conscious beings visit us

[4:50] through this plasma uh that reflects our

[4:53] subconscious. So, it almost carries

[4:54] their consciousness. You have a plasma

[4:56] field around you known as bioplasma or a

[4:58] biofield that carries your

[4:59] consciousness. So, in that way is how

[5:01] it's the vehicle for consciousness.

[5:03] Consciousness can imprint on to it as

[5:05] memory. Almost like the acoustic field

[5:07] is a memory field, but it's beyond that,

[5:09] too. Uh but yeah, I I wouldn't Maybe it

[5:11] is conscious itself, but it almost to me

[5:13] is not conscious conscious like thought,

[5:17] but it's more comes through to me

[5:19] feeling fractal warmth, a hug. Like

[5:21] that's why I call the divine feminine.

In the video, Kippel says plasma is sentient, meaning it is a feeling being, but she says it is not conscious in the way people are. She describes it as a medium that holds imprinted memory from many consciousnesses and carries consciousness. She presents this as a felt conviction and a theory rather than a scientifically demonstrated fact.
Kippel says every person has a plasma field around them, known as bioplasma or a biofield, that carries their consciousness. She describes it as the place where the body's subtle plasma meets the wider medium. She links it to her broader claim that plasma connects the material and immaterial worlds.
A New Force is the book Dana Kippel wrote in about nine months after leaving acting, and she says it came out in September. In the video she describes it as a book about plasma's intelligence and its role as an intelligent, shaping medium for reality. She says her higher self told her the book had already been written.
Kippel says that during meditation, after a painful heartbreak and years of struggle including rehab, she saw an infinity symbol and felt plugged in to what she called plasma. She describes it as a moment of gnosis, a sudden sense of knowing everything at once, which she says never left her. She waited about five years before speaking about it publicly.
The video does not present scientific evidence for plasma storing memory or consciousness. Kippel says she does not know how she knows what she knows and calls it a mystery she trusts because it feels bizarre. Readers should treat her claims as a personal theory and consult the physics of plasma separately.
Kippel says she uses the term divine feminine because of the warm, embracing quality of her experience, which she describes as fractal warmth, like a hug. She explicitly says plasma is not really male or female and is more like a neutral substance. The term describes felt quality rather than gender.
