Question 1

Who is Carla LunAscention, and why do people care about their work?

Accepted Answer

Carla LunAscention is a yoga teacher, meditation teacher, psychic, and hypnotherapist who has built a distinctive practice at the intersection of somatic healing, channeling, and psychic development. Her personal origin story—becoming a mother while losing her own mother, which she describes as a profound initiation—shaped the creation of LunAscention as a named practice. She works with what she calls the Blue Team, higher-dimensional light beings she channels for guidance and healing, bringing that channeled wisdom into group sessions and individual readings. Her credentials span formal training in Hatha Yoga through Aura Wellness, Kundalini Yoga and lucid dreaming through SoulRemember Academy, hypnotherapy and past life regression through the Centre of Excellence, and a fine arts degree from the University of Cape Town focused on magic, alchemy, and Jungian psychology. What draws people to Carla's work is the specificity of her approach—she doesn't teach generic yoga class, but rather uses ceremony, breath, trance states, and somatic practices designed to help women reconnect with their inner wisdom and reclaim sovereignty. Her LunAscention Spiritual School, which teaches psychic development, has earned recognition including an African Excellence Award for Best Emerging Spiritual & Psychic School.

Question 2

What tradition or lineage does Carla LunAscention's work belong to?

Accepted Answer

Carla's lineage is deliberately eclectic and contemporary rather than rooted in a single classical Indian tradition. Her yoga training comes from Aura Wellness (200-hour Hatha certification) and SoulRemember Academy (Kundalini Yoga paired with lucid dreaming work), suggesting an alignment with both accessible postmodern yoga and more esoteric kundalini practices. The hypnotherapy and past life regression components come from the Centre of Excellence, representing the Western therapeutic and somatic lineage. Her own educational background—a Fine Arts degree focused on magic, alchemy, and Jungian psychology from the University of Cape Town—anchors her practice in depth psychology and Western esoteric traditions rather than Hindu or Buddhist frameworks. Carla is explicit that "her truest teachers have been Spirit, intuition and lived experience," which signals that her lineage is more channeled and experiential than textually rooted. This positions her within the broader contemporary Western spiritual teacher category sometimes called "New Age" or "modern mysticism"—part of the lineage of Western practitioners who blend Eastern yoga and meditation practices with Western psychology, channeling, and tarot.

Question 3

What makes Carla LunAscention distinctive as a yoga and meditation teacher?

Accepted Answer

Most yoga teachers anchor their practice in anatomy, alignment cues, and Sanskrit philosophy; Carla's teaching is rooted in depth psychology, channeling, and somatic re-conditioning. Her signature modality, Hypno-Yoga, is not a standard vinyasa or restorative class, but rather a blend of yoga asana, hypnotherapy, and somatic healing designed to help students access altered states and reconnect with younger, less-conditioned selves. She specifically works with women on softening beyond taught gender roles and reclaiming "sovereignty and belonging in body and community," which means her classes are oriented toward emotional and relational healing rather than physical fitness or flexibility metrics. Her retreats in Bali, which pair Hypno-Yoga with ceremony and what she calls "sacred rhythm," position her outside the commodity yoga retreat market and closer to transformational retreat work. The addition of her Blue Team channeling—bringing guidance from higher-dimensional light beings—into group practice distinguishes her from teachers who stay within secular or Hindu-philosophical frameworks. She also teaches inner child healing and psychic development, expanding her role beyond the yoga studio instructor archetype into something closer to a multi-modality healer or spiritual director.

Question 4

What is Hypno-Yoga, and how does it differ from conventional yoga?

Accepted Answer

Hypno-Yoga is Carla LunAscention's original modality that deliberately blends three typically separate disciplines: yoga asana and breathwork, clinical hypnotherapy techniques, and somatic body healing. Conventional yoga classes, whether they're therapeutic or fitness-oriented, typically focus on physical alignment, strength, flexibility, and mental clarity through pranayama and meditation; the goal is usually present-moment awareness or physical benefit. Hypno-Yoga, by contrast, uses yoga postures and breath not primarily as an end in themselves, but as entry points into hypnagogic (trance-like) states where students can access and rewire subconscious patterns, often around trauma, self-limiting beliefs, or dissociation from embodiment. The hypnotherapy component means suggestions and guided imagery are woven throughout, working with the nervous system's openness during asana to create lasting shifts in how students relate to their bodies and their past. This is closer to the lineage of somatic therapy or trauma-informed body work than to classical yoga philosophy. For a student, the difference is stark: a Hypno-Yoga session might feel more like a guided hypnotherapy journey with yoga poses interspersed, than like a typical yoga class with breathwork meditation at the end.

Question 5

Where should a newcomer start with Carla LunAscention's work?

Accepted Answer

The most accessible entry point for a newcomer is Carla's free and low-cost recorded content: her YouTube channel (@LunAscention) and her Insight Timer presence offer guided meditations, somatic practices, and hypno-journeys that can be sampled without financial commitment or registration. These recordings show her voice, her pacing, her approach to guiding students into altered states, and her language around inner child work and reclamation of sovereignty—giving a genuine preview of how her teaching reads and feels. From there, the next tier would be exploring her Inner Child Healing Workbook, which appears to be an accessible self-directed study tool for understanding her philosophy and methodology. If those resonate, her Abundance Activation meditation series represents a deeper commitment to her guidance and can be engaged with privately. For people drawn to her more specialized offerings, the LunAscention Spiritual School teaches psychic development and would appeal to those already interested in tarot, channeling, or developing their intuitive abilities. Finally, for those ready for full immersion, her women's retreats in Bali offer the ceremony, trance work, and Blue Team channeling in a group setting—but those should come after experiencing her recorded content and understanding whether Hypno-Yoga and channeled spiritual guidance genuinely resonate.

Question 6

Who is Carla LunAscention's work NOT for?

Accepted Answer

Carla's work is not suited to practitioners seeking a purely physical or anatomical yoga practice focused on alignment precision, strength-building, or classical asana sequences. If you want a teacher who grounds their instruction in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras or traditional Vedic philosophy, Carla's emphasis on psychology, channeling, and modern Western spirituality will likely feel too far outside traditional frameworks. Her Hypno-Yoga modality and hypnotherapy methods require comfort with altered states, subconscious work, and trance—so practitioners with trauma histories around dissociation, anxiety disorders triggered by feeling "out of control," or strong distrust of guided visualization should approach with caution or seek a trauma-informed version. Additionally, her work is explicitly feminine-centered (she leads women's retreats and frames her teaching around women's sovereignty), so this may not be an inclusive space for all gender identities or for men seeking her primary offerings. Her channeling work with the Blue Team and psychic development teachings will not resonate with those from religious traditions that reject channeling or divination, or with practitioners seeking explicitly secular, evidence-based approaches to meditation and healing. Finally, her Insight Timer and YouTube recordings are free, but her retreats and deeper training have significant price points; this is not an accessible practice for those with very limited financial means.

Question 7

What is the Blue Team that Carla LunAscention channels?

Accepted Answer

The Blue Team, as described in Carla's work, is a group of higher-dimensional light beings that she channels for guidance, healing, and support in her sessions and retreats. The term "Blue Team" appears to reference the color frequency associated with these beings, consistent with contemporary channeling traditions that assign colors or dimensional frequencies to different types of spiritual guides or entities. In her teachings, the Blue Team functions as a source of collective wisdom and energy that Carla accesses through trance or meditative states to offer group guidance, healing transmission, and support for students in her ceremonies and retreats. This channeling work positions her within the Western contemporary spirituality lineage that includes mediums, channels, and channeling teachers—a practice with roots in spiritualism and contemporary New Age traditions. The specifics of the Blue Team's teachings or philosophy are not detailed in publicly available information, but the framework suggests they function as benevolent guides offering transmissions aligned with Carla's broader work around inner wisdom, sovereignty, and feminine reclamation.

Question 8

What is Carla LunAscention's teaching style like?

Accepted Answer

Carla's teaching style is immersive, invitation-based, and focused on facilitating altered states and emotional access rather than directive instruction or corrective feedback. Her voice in recordings is calm and measured, with an emphasis on breath, somatic sensation, and guided imagery that draws students inward; she's not a high-energy, motivational teacher, but rather a guide into deeper, quieter states. She frames her offerings around witnessing and listening—her own biography emphasizes that as a child she "felt what others couldn't say and listened between the lines," and this quality carries into her teaching by creating space for students to access what's underneath their conscious awareness. Her teaching is explicitly relational and women-centered, with particular attention to how socialization, roles, and maternal loss shape the nervous system and sense of belonging; a session or retreat with Carla is less about learning yoga technique and more about unwinding learned patterns and reconnecting with what she calls "inner wisdom" and "sovereignty." Because Hypno-Yoga involves trance and hypnotherapy elements, her guidance is more suggestive and permissive than commanding—she's facilitating your access to your own subconscious rather than telling you how to "do" the pose. In group settings, particularly retreats, ceremony and rhythm are woven through: her Bali retreats include sacred rhythm work alongside the yoga and hypno-journeys, suggesting a full-sensory, ritualistic approach.

Question 9

What are the recurring themes in Carla LunAscention's teaching?

Accepted Answer

Inner child healing and reconnection appear to be a central thread throughout her work—she created a dedicated Inner Child Healing Workbook and this theme runs through her hypno-journeys and somatic practices, suggesting that accessing, soothing, and re-parenting the younger self is foundational to her methodology. Reclaiming sovereignty and belonging—particularly for women who've internalized limiting roles—is another consistent theme; she explicitly frames her work as helping students "soften beyond the roles they have been taught" and "reclaim sovereignty and belonging in body and community." The concept of witnessing and deepening listening (grounded in her childhood experience of sensing what others couldn't say) appears throughout; her teaching invites students to witness themselves with compassion rather than judgment, and to listen to their own intuitive knowing. Abundance and activation is another theme present in her Abundance Activation meditation series, suggesting teachings around prosperity consciousness, energetic expansion, and aligning with sufficiency. Somatic remembrance and embodied wisdom come through in her emphasis on breath, body sensation, and accessing knowledge stored in the nervous system rather than the thinking mind. Initiation and transformation through life events—particularly loss and motherhood—frame her own origin story and appear in how she conceptualizes spiritual development as emerging from lived experience.

Question 10

What recordings and materials can I study independently?

Accepted Answer

Carla offers several layers of independent study and recorded content. Her YouTube channel (@LunAscention) contains free guided meditations, hypno-journeys, and somatic practices that represent her core teachings in recorded form; these are fully accessible without cost or registration and provide genuine insight into her methodology and voice. She also has a presence on Insight Timer, another major platform for recorded meditations and guided practices, which likely contains additional recordings and possibly exclusive sessions. Her Abundance Activation meditation series is a created collection specifically focused on prosperity and energetic activation, available for independent study. The Inner Child Healing Workbook is a self-directed workbook format, suggesting a combination of guidance, journaling prompts, and exercises designed to be worked through at your own pace. Beyond these, there's no indication of published books, recorded lecture series, or long-form teachings in video or podcast format in the publicly available data, though her YouTube channel and Insight Timer presence may contain longer teachings. For someone interested in exploring her work deeply while learning independently, the free YouTube and Insight Timer content is the essential starting point, followed by the Workbook and Abundance series.
