説明
Zazenkai is a day of Zen meditation in Sydney, New South Wales, held as part of a wider programme of sitting practice, ceremonies and retreats. It suits anyone drawn to zazen, the seated meditation at the heart of Zen, and who would like to practise in the company of a community for a morning.
What to Expect
The Zazenkai runs from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A zazenkai is a gathering devoted to sitting meditation, and this one gives a half-day to stillness rather than a full retreat commitment. It is a gentler way to experience extended Zen practice than a multi-day sesshin, and a good fit if you want more than a weekly sit but are not ready for a longer stay.
Before You Go
The material does not set out prerequisites, so no particular experience is stated. If you are new to zazen, the community also runs a separate session for people wanting to kickstart their practice, which can be a useful first step. Wear comfortable clothing you can sit in for an extended period.
