説明
Yogic Science for Addictive Behavior and Mental Health is an online healing workshop presented by Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and led by Mukta Kaur Khalsa. Drawing on Kundalini Yoga and yogic science, it looks at how breathwork, meditation and mantra support recovery from addictive behavior and care for mental health. It is open to anyone interested in yogic approaches to healing, whether you come as a person in recovery, a practitioner, or someone working in a clinical setting.
The program is offered through Kripalu's online programs and presented by SuperHealth. It is open to everyone, including those continuing on from the earlier four-week series and those joining for the first time.
What to Expect
The workshop runs over four Mondays, with a live Zoom session each evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Eastern time, for six hours in total. Sessions are guided and interactive, with opportunities to engage with the teacher. The practices include deep meditation, breathwork, mantra, reflection and restorative work, intended to support the body, mind, emotions and spirit.
Each week has its own focus:
- Week 1, Identifying Issues: Mental Trauma. How trauma shapes addictive behavior, and foundational yogic and somatic approaches to processing it.
- Week 2, Recalibrating Brain and Mantra. Neuroplasticity through meditation and breathwork, and mantra as a tool for regulating the nervous system.
- Week 3, Therapeutic Nutrition for Healing Addictive Behavior. The connection between diet, consciousness and recovery, with food-based strategies that support neurological health.
- Week 4, Forgiveness. Forgiveness as a path to freedom and integration, and practicing compassion toward yourself and others in recovery.
Across the four weeks you will learn about the physiological and psychological effects of yogic practices on recovery and mental health, and identify specific meditation and breathing techniques that reduce stress, regulate emotions and promote neuroplasticity. You will also explore how Kundalini Yoga strengthens the nervous and glandular systems, supporting resilience against trauma and addictive behaviors, and consider practical ways to bring these tools into clinical work or personal practice.
