説明
Winter Respite is a seven-night yoga retreat at Xinalani, an oceanfront retreat center in Quimixto, Jalisco, Mexico, just south of Puerto Vallarta. It is led by Kristin Page and is open to all levels. The week combines mixed-style yoga, aerial yoga and a strong emphasis on rest and restoration, set between the jungle and the Pacific Ocean.
What to Expect
The retreat runs seven nights, and Xinalani describes each retreat as having its own rhythm, with days that move between practice, nourishing meals, ocean time, restorative moments and space to simply be. The center's general daily flow gives a sense of the shape of a day, though the specifics of Kristin Page's schedule may vary:
- 8 AM: all-levels yoga by the ocean, meant to move, energize and awaken the body.
- 10 AM: breakfast with fresh tropical fruit, homemade pastries, Mexican favorites and healthy options.
- 12 PM: free time to swim, relax by the pool, use the wellness area or book a massage.
- 2 PM: lunch of fresh, seasonal dishes on the oceanfront terrace.
- 5 PM: a restorative session, which might be restorative yoga, meditation, cacao or another mindful practice.
- 7 PM: sunset over Banderas Bay, followed by dinner of local cuisine and homemade desserts.
This retreat is tagged mixed-style yoga, aerial yoga and rest and restore. That suggests a week that balances active practice with real downtime, and the afternoons are left open so you can set your own pace.
Your Teacher
Kristin Page leads Winter Respite. She is the teacher named for this retreat, and it is open to practitioners of every level.
The Setting
Xinalani sits on the coast between the jungle and the Pacific, and the center takes care of the stay, the meals and the practical details so guests can spend less time organizing and more time being present. Rooms are built around the surrounding nature. The categories are:
- Beach Casita: the most spacious and private option, steps from the beach, with a king bed, a private terrace and plunge pool, ocean views and A/C.
- Eco Chic Treehouse: an open-air stay above the jungle with sweeping ocean views, a private terrace with hammock, a king bed or two double beds, and A/C or open-air options.
- Deluxe Room: a cozy room with jungle and ocean views, a private terrace with a small hammock, a king bed or two twin beds, and A/C or open-air options. It suits couples and solo travelers.
- Small and Big Palapa: open-air shared palapas with four or eight individual beds and a private terrace, the most accessible way to stay at Xinalani.
Meals are served on the oceanfront terrace and are built around fresh, seasonal and local ingredients.
Before You Go
Winter Respite is suitable for all levels, so no previous yoga experience is required. Guests choose their own room category, and the shared palapas offer a more social, budget-friendly option. Because afternoons are open, you can add a massage, spend time in the wellness area or simply rest by the pool, depending on how much you want from the week.
