説明
Traditional Thai Massage Training is a 12-day healing certification at Arcana Wellness Village in Tambon Khok Kloi, Phang Nga, Thailand. It is open to complete beginners and to experienced therapists adding Thai massage to their practice. The course is led by Master Instructor Kewalin Jindathi and is limited to 12 students per intake, so corrections are individual rather than shouted across a room.
What to Expect
The training moves from foundations to a complete treatment. The first day is check-in: you arrive, settle into your room and get to know the village before training begins.
Days 2 to 4 cover the foundations. You start with the ancient principles of Thai healing, then go straight into hands-on practice on the feet and ankles, sequenced leg work built around the single-leg position, and coordinating rhythm and pressure between practitioner and client. Days 5 and 6 turn to the core and upper body, including work through the torso along the sen lines and a side-lying sequence for the upper body and hips.
Days 7 to 9 refine the work: the full back-body sequence, seated positions with assisted stretching, and gentle techniques for the face and head, including working safely with headaches and tension. On day 10 you perform the complete two-hour full-body treatment, bringing every earlier module together. Day 11 covers Thai medical theory and the map of the sen lines, with preparation for professional practice. Day 12 is check-out.
Every module includes dedicated practice time. A central skill is using gravity and your own body weight as leverage, so you can apply deep, rhythmic pressure without needing exceptional flexibility or strength. The course also treats therapist self-care as part of the craft, and Metta (loving-kindness) as a way of cultivating intuitive touch.
About Kewalin Jindathi
Kewalin Jindathi is a Master Instructor of traditional Thai healing. She trained at the Wat Po academy in Bangkok, the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, and has more than 20 years of experience training Thai practitioners, including a decade teaching international students. Her approach is patient and intimate. She teaches the reasons behind each movement as well as the movement itself, so the spiritual roots of the practice are respected alongside professional standards.
The Setting
Arcana Wellness Village is a conscious living sanctuary where the pace follows nature. Between sessions you can join classes in the yoga shala, swim in the saltwater pool, and use the spa and gym. Accommodation ranges from a shared dormitory, a community-minded and economical option, to private rooms on site.
A Training and Stay booking includes the training plus spa and thermal access (sauna, ice bath and cold plunge), daily wellness events such as yoga and meditation, and a daily vegan or vegetarian breakfast in all rooms except the dormitory.
Before You Go
No prior massage training and no particular flexibility are required. The course begins with the foundations of touch, body mechanics and safety. Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows a full range of motion, such as yoga wear. Professional mats and all equipment are provided.
The training fee includes:
- UTTS certification, recognised globally
- Twelve days of training with Kewalin Jindathi
- Daily hands-on practice sessions
- A theory deep-dive day
- A printed training manual to keep
The certificate supports eligibility for membership of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS) for Australian students. Payment plans are available.
Accommodation is not part of the training-only option, and neither are meals beyond the included breakfast, spa access or daily wellness events unless they come with a room booking. Flights and transport to the village are also your own to arrange. Many students arrive solo, and the village setting makes it easy to be part of a community whether you choose a private room or the dormitory.
