Retreats
説明
Return to Source is a five-night spiritual retreat in India, held at Sripuram in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and led by Anjani Amriit and Clare Fenwick. It is a small immersion, limited to twelve people, for those who have spent years achieving and caring for others and sense that something essential has gone quiet. The emphasis is on inner practice, self-realisation, meditation, contemplation and integration, rather than on physical yoga.
What to Expect
The days are shaped around meditation and yoga, breathwork and nervous system regulation, satsang, sacred circle and self inquiry. Mantra and puja, the devotional practices of the Vedic tradition, are part of the rhythm, as is time inside the temples to sit quietly. There is deliberate room for rest and integration, without pressure or expectation.
Sripuram is the home of the Maha Lakshmi Golden Temple, a centre of Shakti designed as a sacred yantra in the shape of a star. Guests walk the star-shaped path that surrounds it, take part in Vedic ritual and bhakti practice, and can attend daily puja with Sri Sakthi Amma, the founder of Sri Narayani Peedam. Amma's work includes education, healthcare and care for the land, and the retreat offers hands-on service alongside practice. The days are planned around the cooler morning and evening hours.
About Anjani Amriit
Anjani Amriit is a self-realisation and inner leadership mentor, author, speaker and creator of Internal Yoga. Born into a working-class immigrant family in Yorkshire, she spent sixteen years as a corporate lawyer in the UK and Australia before burnout led her to India in 2006 and into years of study in Ayurveda, Buddhism, energy healing, yoga and spiritual psychology. She met her Guru, Sri Sakthi Narayani Amma, and received the name Anjani Amriit. She is a master yoga teacher, psychosynthesis coach, Ayurvedic wellness therapist and energetic healer, a twice bestselling author and a TEDx speaker, and she is based in Sydney.
About Clare Fenwick
Clare Fenwick is a coach, yoga teacher, retreat leader and nervous system specialist. She worked for thirty years in high-pressure global talent, leadership and executive search roles across four continents. She brings twenty years of yoga and meditation practice and more than 600 hours of teacher training in Vinyasa, traditional Hatha, Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga. She now works privately with professionals, entrepreneurs and people moving through major life, health and career transitions.
The Setting
Guests stay at Sri Kamalanivas, a quiet guest house in garden surroundings a few hundred metres from the Golden Temple, close enough to walk to darshan at dawn. Shoes are left at the door. Rooms are clean and air conditioned, each with an attached bathroom, and pure vegetarian meals are offered daily.
The Sri Narayani Holistic Centre, within the grounds of Narayani Peedam, offers Siddha and Ayurvedic treatments and therapeutic massage. These are optional, booked and paid for separately.
Before You Go
No previous yoga or meditation experience is needed; you are guided through everything. The fee covers five nights of accommodation, ground transport in India, all facilitated sessions, on-site support from the guides and a donation to Amma's charitable initiatives. Flights, the Indian visa, meals taken outside the accommodation, treatments and therapies are not included.
April is the hot season in Tamil Nadu, with daytime temperatures often in the high 30s. Light, modest clothing suited to temple visits is advised, and guidance on travel preparation is sent after booking.
