The stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what's possible, and what we deserve often operate invisibly—shaping our choices, limiting our vision, and anchoring us to patterns we no longer need to carry. This three-day healing retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA invites you to examine these narratives with compassionate curiosity and discover that the scripts running on repeat in your mind are far more fluid than you've believed.
Led by psychotherapist and author Nancy Colier, Narratives: Let Go of the Stories That Keep You Stuck is an intimate inquiry into the personal mythologies woven so tightly into your sense of self that they feel like truth itself. Through a blend of contemplative practice, somatic exploration, and direct experience, you'll learn to observe your mental patterns without judgment—not to bypass the mind or force positive thinking, but to develop an entirely different relationship with thought. The work here centers on a liberating realization: the storylines playing in your consciousness are not fixed; loosening their grip allows fresh perception to emerge and unexpected versions of yourself to unfold.
If you've felt trapped by old narratives about your worth, capacity, or identity—or simply sense there's more freedom possible within you—this retreat offers a gentle yet profound pathway toward release.
What to Expect
Over three days at Kripalu's serene campus, you'll engage in inquiry-based sessions that help you identify the beliefs you've accepted as absolute truth. Rather than analyzing your stories intellectually, you'll work with them through contemplative practice and direct somatic and experiential work—creating space to feel into the protective armor these narratives have provided while recognizing how they've also confined you.
Nancy Colier's approach is both psychologically informed and spiritually grounded. Sessions alternate between guided inquiry, meditation, and reflection, creating a held container where you can safely observe your mind's patterns. You'll leave with practical tools for living alongside your thoughts without being completely absorbed by them—a sustainable capacity for freedom that doesn't require eliminating the mind, but rather relating to it differently.
The retreat fosters deep community among participants as you collectively explore what it means to author a new story.
