説明
How to Turn Grief into Grace is a healing retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, led by Edy Nathan. It is a grief intensive for anyone carrying a loss the world expected them to be past: a death, but also the loss of an identity, of health, or of the life they knew before. The program pairs teaching with group sharing and creative expression, and it aims to help you build a living relationship with your grief rather than try to finish it.
What to Expect
Edy Nathan guides the retreat through her Liberation Protocol, a structured model built on 11 identifiable phases of grief. The phases move from shock and role confusion through fear, anger, and shame, toward integration and what she calls grace. Sessions combine clinical grounding in trauma neuroscience and Internal Family Systems with the embodied methods she is known for: psychodrama and mask making.
Over the retreat you can expect to find:
- Language for an experience you may have carried for years without a name.
- A clear framework for seeing where you are in the grief process and what comes next.
- Direct experience with body-based trauma practices, not only talk therapy.
- A concrete next step for continuing the work once you leave.
The work does not promise a cure or a fixed timeline. It offers a clear structure for grief that has had none, and practical tools for reclaiming what trauma reorganized.
The retreat runs three nights. It opens with check-in from 2:00 pm, a Kripalu Yoga class, dinner, and an evening program session from 7:30 to 9:00. Full days begin with yoga from 6:30 to 7:45 am and a silent breakfast, followed by program sessions from 9:00 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 4:00 pm, with lunch between them. An afternoon yoga class and dinner close each day. On the final morning there is yoga, silent breakfast, and a last program session from 9:00 to 11:00 am, then lunch and departure. Actual times may vary, and a schedule is provided at check-in.
