説明
Healing the Sacred Womb is a five-night healing retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, led by author, healer and self-described modern alchemist Adora Winquist. It is a residential workshop for anyone drawn to feminine spiritual practice, whether you have walked that path for years or are only beginning to hear its call. The work combines breathwork, essential oils and energy medicine with somatic practices, and it centers on the energetic, or "etheric," womb.
What to Expect
The program is built around releasing what the body has been holding. Adora Winquist guides participants through practices aimed at chronic stress and emotional residue stored in the body, and at patterns such as overdoing, people-pleasing and self-abandonment. Other threads include restoring access to intuition and inner guidance, and reconnecting with pleasure, joy and aliveness. The teaching draws on ancient wisdom alongside contemporary healing methods, and you leave with practical tools for nurturing your feminine essence.
The days follow a steady rhythm:
- Opening day: check-in begins at 2:00 pm, followed by Kripalu Yoga from 4:45 to 6:00, dinner from 5:30 to 7:30, and the first program session from 7:30 to 9:00 in the evening.
- Full days: Kripalu Yoga from 6:30 to 7:45 am, silent breakfast from 7:30 to 9:00, a program session from 9:00 to 11:30, lunch until 1:30, a second session from 1:30 to 4:00, then yoga again at 4:45 and dinner from 5:30 to 7:30.
- Closing day: morning yoga and silent breakfast, a final program session from 9:00 to 11:00, then lunch and departure. Actual times may vary, and the schedule given at check-in has room locations.
About Adora Winquist
Adora Winquist is a celebrated author, healer and modern alchemist. Her approach to this program brings together ancient wisdom and modern alchemy, working through breathwork, essential oils and energy medicine to help participants remember their essence and settle into a more embodied sense of the sacred feminine.
The Setting
Kripalu is a center for yoga and health, and the retreat is residential, so you stay on the grounds for the whole program. Rooms are intentionally simple, meant to help you unplug and feel grounded. You can choose a private single room if you want solitude, or a shared dormitory room if you prefer community. Rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, and a luggage room holds your bags until then. On the last day, room check-out is at 10:00 am, and you may stay on campus and take part in workshops until 2:00 pm.
Three nutritious meals are served each day, with breakfast taken in silence. Daily yoga and movement classes are part of the stay, with more than ten over the course of the retreat, as is access to the Kripalu grounds.
Before You Go
No prior experience is required, and the retreat is open to all levels. Participants do not need a physical womb to attend, since the practice works with the energetic womb that all people have. The program is taught in English.
Your stay includes the five days of programming with Adora Winquist, daily yoga classes, three meals a day, use of the grounds and facilities, and your accommodation. Private healing sessions and treatments are not included, nor are purchases from the Kripalu Shop and Cafe, and you will need to arrange your own travel to and from Kripalu. Healing Arts sessions can be purchased separately during your stay.
