説明
The Aging with Grace Retreat is a seven-day yoga retreat at Luna Lodge Ecolodge & Wellness Center, in the rainforest of the Osa Peninsula in the Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica. It brings daily yoga together with ceremony and forest bathing, and it suits anyone who wants a week of unhurried, nature-centered wellness in one of the most biodiverse corners of the country.
What to Expect
The week is built around a steady rhythm of practice in the forest setting. Yoga sessions happen daily, paired with ceremonies and forest bathing, the slow, attentive walking and sitting among trees that asks you to notice rather than to cover ground.
Beyond the practice, the retreat includes a walk to a hidden waterfall along the lodge's private trails, and a guided tour of Corcovado National Park that finishes with time at the beach. Corcovado is Costa Rica's largest national park, and the lodge sits just minutes from it. The park is known for its large population of scarlet macaws and for stretches of untouched coastline.
The Setting
Luna Lodge describes itself as a nature-luxe ecolodge at the end of the road, surrounded by rainforest on the Osa Peninsula. It has protected rainforest since 1998 and runs carbon neutral operations. Every accommodation option has canopy views and a terrace, with eco-luxury amenities:
- Honeymoon Bungalow: two adults, one bed, private terrace.
- Bungalow: up to four adults, with one, two, or three beds, private terrace.
- Hacienda Style Room: two adults and one child, two beds, terrace.
- Safari Tent: two adults, two beds, private terrace.
Three meals are served daily, made from fresh, local, and often organic ingredients.
Most guests fly into San José (SJO), then take a domestic flight to Puerto Jiménez. From there the lodge can arrange ground transportation or a scenic charter flight to the local airstrip. Those who drive will need a 4WD vehicle, and the drive from Puerto Jiménez takes roughly two to two and a half hours.
Before You Go
The retreat includes the daily yoga sessions, ceremonies, forest bathing, the hidden waterfall visit, the Corcovado National Park tour, and beach time, along with three meals a day. Airfare to San José, the domestic connection to Puerto Jiménez, and the transfer or charter flight to the lodge are arranged separately.
An early-bird rate is available for those who pay in advance of the stated deadline. A deposit secures a reservation, with the balance due before arrival. The lodge accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express as well as cash in US dollars and colones. ATMs in Puerto Jiménez can be unreliable, so bring enough cash in small denominations for tips and incidentals.
Most travelers from the U.S., Canada, and the EU do not need a visa for short stays, but a passport valid for more than six months and proof of onward travel are required. The dry season, December to April, is the most popular time to visit, though rain is possible at any time of year.
