In a desert in Egypt, around 1500 BCE, a mystic has spent days in ritual preparation. He sees a light on the horizon, small and glimmering, and cannot be sure it is real. It grows, draws closer, and finally envelops him. He feels his mind entangled with an intelligence, and a teaching begins that arrives as a flood of revelation "beyond language." That is the opening vignette of a 79-minute video from the Third Eye Drops channel, published in October 2026, and it sets the terms for everything that follows. The video argues that the modern UFO phenomenon, the ancient practice of theurgy, and Plato's image of humans chained in a cave watching shadows on a wall all point to the same underlying map: physical reality is a derivative layer, and something larger communicates with us through consciousness. What makes the piece worth a close reading is not any single claim but the pattern it traces through three centuries of ufology and several thousand years of esotericism.

Why would a UFO video start with Plato's cave?

The argument begins with a question that sounds almost too simple: how do you know where you are? The host opens with perception itself. Stare at a still image long enough and it starts to seem to move. Look hard at a solid wall and it begins to shimmer. Those are optical tricks, and the host concedes as much, but his point goes further. Human senses register only a narrow band of the electromagnetic spectrum. What we see is a small slice of something much larger, so even a faithful perception is partial.

From there the video draws on two thinkers. The first is cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman, whom the host summarizes as arguing that the world we perceive is closer to a VR headset than to reality itself: an "evolutionarily convenient headset" that helps organisms survive rather than see the world as it is. The second is physicist John Wheeler. The host quotes Wheeler's 1989 essay: "Every physical quantity, every it, derives its ultimate significance from bits." Wheeler's "it from bit" idea holds that physical things get their meaning from informational yes-or-no acts of registration. The video's leap is to treat that as a bridge back to the ancient sages, who, it notes, spoke of Maya, the grand illusion, in Vedic philosophy long before the physicists wrote their equations.

What does Plato's cave actually say about reality?

The video is careful to ground its reading in the text. Plato's cave appears in the Republic, which the host describes as Plato's most sprawling work, and it is told by Socrates to Plato's brother Glaucon. The setup is precise. Prisoners have lived since childhood chained so that they face only the back wall of a cave. Behind them a fire burns, and figures carry statues and artifacts along a raised path. The prisoners never see the figures or the fire; they see only the shadows the objects cast, and they take those shadows for the whole of reality.

The part the host considers most overlooked is what happens after liberation. One prisoner is freed, and the escape is not triumphant. He is terrified, and he wants to return to his chains and his familiar shadows. Turning to face the fire would blind him; seeing the figures would confuse him. The ascent is staged, moving from shadows to reflections in water, then to real objects, then to the night sky, and finally to the sun, which the host notes holds a special place in Plato's philosophy. Only then does the freed prisoner grasp that his former world was a deception. And the story does not end there: he now has a duty to go back down into the cave.

The video's framing: the freed prisoner is not a hero who walks out of the matrix, but a reluctant witness who has to be pulled up and who then has to return.

Attribution: paraphrased from the host's reading of Plato's cave in the video published by Third Eye Drops, October 2026.

This is the template the host applies to UFO research. The researchers in the video are, in his telling, people who saw the shadows, found them strange, and then discovered that the shadows pointed toward something deeper. The "Act 1" of the video is essentially a sequence of stages: sense, then question, then ascent, then return.

What is theurgy, and why does it matter to UFO researchers?

Theurgy is the strand that makes the video distinctive. The host describes it as a mysterious ancient practice of ritual that sought encounters with higher intelligences. Within that practice, the video says, practitioners reported luminous manifestations, orbs, and a vehicle for the soul that the host associates with the ochema-pneuma, often called the astral light body. They also described something like a telepathic "download": teachings received directly, without words.

The video's central comparison is that these accounts sound eerily like modern reports. A person in ritual sees a light that grows and surrounds them; a witness in a rural field sees a glowing object that seems to communicate through the mind. The host's point is not that the ancient texts are documentary records of spaceships. It is that the structure of the experience, light followed by intelligence followed by contact, recurs across cultures and centuries. The video's opening vignettes make this explicit by presenting three scenes in three periods, all converging on the same pattern of light, intelligence, and mind-to-mind contact.

How did J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallée end up on the same map?

The second act of the video turns to the figures of modern ufology. The opening vignette places an astrophysicist in Evanston, Illinois, in 1965, who after years of investigation accepts that the phenomenon is real but far stranger than flying saucers. It is category-defying and shape-shifting, and in case after case, experiencers reported that it seemed to communicate with them directly. The host identifies that astrophysicist as J. Allen Hynek and treats his shift as the first crack in the purely hardware view of UFOs. The video also notes that Hynek was drawn into government-linked work on UFO reports, a detail it uses to underline how seriously institutions took the phenomenon.

Jacques Vallée is the next figure, and the host cites his book Passport to Magonia, in which the phenomenon is read against older traditions of visitation and folklore. The thread continues through Vallée's later work, which the video mentions in connection with multidimensional readings of the phenomenon. The host also brings in John Keel, whom he presents as a central figure in the esoteric turn of ufology, and Rudolf Steiner, whose views on spiritual intelligences the video places in the same lineage. The effect is a chain of researchers who, the video argues, kept reaching for a framework that looked less like physics and more like the mystery schools.

What about the whistleblowers and the classified world?

The video's most provocative material concerns the classified world. Its opening vignette describes an intelligence official in a secure facility in the American Southwest, read into a project beyond top secret, who learns that even the highest levels of government do not know what the phenomenon is, but believe they can interact with it through consciousness. The video refers to classified programs in which techniques were reportedly developed to call the phenomenon in psychically, and it uses the term psionic in that context.

These are the video's claims, not established findings, and the host knows the difference. He discusses whistleblower testimony tied to Grusch, and observes that Grusch appears to keep some distance from the esoteric reading that the video is building. The host's method is to take testimony of this kind and fit it into the historical pattern, asking whether these accounts echo the older descriptions of light, intelligence, and contact. Whether the fit holds is an open question, and the video frames it that way.

Is the esoteric UFO hypothesis proven, or a framework to think with?

The answer the video itself gives is the second one. Across its runtime, the host says "I believe" more often than he says "it is," and he calls the piece a framework rather than a conclusion. That honesty is useful, and it helps to separate the material into three layers. The first is textual: Plato's cave, Wheeler's 1989 essay, and Hoffman's interface argument are verifiable, quotable works, and the host's readings of them can be checked against the sources. The second is historical: Hynek's 1965 turn, Vallée's writing, and Keel's work are documented in the researchers' own books and papers. The third is testimonial and narrative: the dramatized vignettes, the claimed classified programs, and the whistleblower accounts. Those carry the emotional weight of the video, but they are the least verifiable layer.

The strongest idea in the piece is the simplest. If the physical world is an interface rather than the bottom layer of reality, then anomalous experience is not a glitch in the data. It is information. That reframing is what connects Plato's chained prisoner to a witness who finds that a light has spoken into their mind. Whether the connection reflects a hidden truth or a recurring human pattern of meaning-making is the question the video leaves in the viewer's hands.

Where to go from here

If the video left you wanting the sources, start with the texts it names. Read the cave passage in Plato's Republic, where the story is set within the dialogue's larger argument, and then read Wheeler's 1989 essay on "it from bit," which the host quotes directly. For the ufology thread, Passport to Magonia by Jacques Vallée is the book the video cites, and Hynek's and Keel's own writings will show how the researchers themselves framed the phenomenon. Hoffman's work on perception is worth reading alongside all of this, since it supplies the scientific half of the argument. Watch the video's chapter structure as a guide: each act moves from the ancient material to the modern, and the most useful way to engage is to check each step against its source before accepting the conclusion.

Finally, keep the three layers distinct as you read. The Egypt vignette, the Southwest official, and the classified programs are framed by the host as scenes and accounts, not as documented history. Treating them that way lets you take the esoteric pattern seriously as a lens without mistaking the lens for the view.

[0:01] Egypt, 1500 BCE.

[0:04] After days of preparation and ritual, a

[0:07] mystic reaches a heightened state of

[0:09] consciousness in the desert. He sees a

[0:11] light off in the distance. At first, it

[0:13] was small and glimmering.

[0:15] He wasn't sure if it was even real, but

[0:17] then it gets closer and larger and

[0:20] slowly he realizes it. He feels it.

[0:23] Somehow his mind is entangled with this

[0:27] light, with this intelligence. Then the

[0:30] light grows all around him, completely

[0:32] envelops him. He hears a voice. A

[0:35] teaching begins. A massive download.

[0:38] Life-altering revelations beyond

[0:41] language fill his mind. Evanston,

[0:43] Illinois, 1965.

[0:46] After years of investigating UFOs and

[0:49] paranormal phenomena, an astrophysicist

[0:51] accepts a truth he wouldn't have

[0:53] believed just months earlier.

[0:55] The phenomenon seems to be real,

[0:58] but it's mysterious, far stranger than

[1:01] flying saucers. It is category-defying,

[1:04] shape-shifting. In case after case,

[1:06] experiencers tell them the same thing.

[1:09] They swear that somehow the phenomena

[1:11] was communicating with them directly

[1:13] through their minds. Present day,

[1:15] somewhere in the American Southwest. An

[1:18] intelligence official sits inside a

[1:20] secure classified facility.

[1:23] He's read into a project that's beyond

[1:24] top secret. He's shown proof that the

[1:26] UFO phenomenon is real. It, of course,

[1:29] transcends our technology, but it also

[1:31] defies our understanding of physics. And

[1:34] on top of that, he learns a

[1:35] disconcerting truth.

[1:37] Even at the highest levels of

[1:39] intelligence in government, though they

[1:41] argue about it, they don't really know

[1:43] what the phenomenon is.

[1:45] But they do know one thing, that they

[1:47] can interact with it directly through

[1:49] consciousness.

[1:51] They even have classified programs where

[1:53] they've developed techniques to call the

[1:56] phenomenon in psychically. Three

[1:58] distinctly different time periods and

[2:00] points of view, one impossible to

[2:03] comprehend deeper truth. Yet there is a

[2:06] clear pattern. Light, intelligence,

[2:09] contact through the mind, revelations

[2:12] that point to a reality deeper than the

[2:15] one we perceive with our senses. In this

[2:17] transmission, we're going to explore why

[2:19] the UFO phenomenon doesn't just

[2:21] challenge our ideas about life in the

[2:23] universe, but why it transcends the very

[2:26] modern concept of what the universe is

[2:30] and what we are.

[2:32] But to even scratch the surface of this

[2:34] mystery, we're going to have to return

[2:35] to some basic but very deep questions

[2:38] we've been asking ourselves since

[2:40] ancient times.

[2:41] To start,

[2:43] where and what

[2:44] >> [music]

[2:45] >> are we really?

[2:49] First, a deceptively simple question.

[2:51] Where are you right now? Are you a body,

[2:55] a brain on a planet, or you a soul

[2:57] having a human experience? How do you

[2:59] even know? Do your senses tell you the

[3:01] answer? Does the scientific method?

[3:03] Let's start with our senses. Can we

[3:06] really trust them to provide us an

[3:08] accurate picture of reality?

[3:10] Well, let's do a little experiment.

[3:12] Stare at this picture with unbroken

[3:14] sight for a few seconds. This is a

[3:16] totally still image, but I'm guessing

[3:19] you're starting to see some quality of

[3:21] movement. You might be saying, "Well,

[3:22] that's just an optical illusion. It's

[3:24] designed to fool our senses." Well,

[3:27] choose any object in your room. Stare at

[3:29] the wall in front of you. If you really

[3:31] focus in on it, you'll find what you

[3:32] assumed was solid starts to appear much

[3:35] more jittery, wavy, wobbly. And again,

[3:39] maybe you'd say, "It's just a trick of

[3:41] your senses. That's not how it really

[3:42] is." Uh to which I would say, "Exactly."

[3:46] But let's go further. We know at the

[3:47] very best, our senses depict a very

[3:51] narrow bandwidth of reality. We know

[3:53] that we see only a tiny slice of the

[3:56] known electromagnetic spectrum. So, even

[3:58] if we are perceiving something real with

[4:00] our senses, it is far from the whole

[4:02] truth. One of my favorite thinkers,

[4:04] cognitive science Dr. Donald Hoffman,

[4:07] argues this very point. In fact, he goes

[4:09] even further that the world we perceive

[4:12] is not reality, that it's akin to a VR

[4:14] headset worn by consciousness in order

[4:17] to navigate and survive the human

[4:19] condition. It's essentially an

[4:20] evolutionarily convenient headset that

[4:23] allows us to survive, not perceive

[4:25] reality.

[4:26] Physics pushes us to a similar

[4:28] conclusion. In his 1989 essay, physics

[4:31] giant Dr. John Wheeler writes that,

[4:33] quote, "Every physical quantity, every

[4:36] it, derives its ultimate significance

[4:38] from bits." And a few lines later, he

[4:41] says that even the space-time continuum

[4:42] itself derives its existence from binary

[4:46] yes-no acts of registration and

[4:48] information. More simply, he's saying

[4:50] the physical world, space-time, this

[4:52] realm that we do all of our perception

[4:54] in and science in,

[4:56] it is not the true reality. It's derived

[4:58] from something deeper, something

[5:00] informational, something immaterial.

[5:03] Already, this is starting to sound like

[5:05] ancient mysticism, esotericism. And yes,

[5:08] ancient sages came to the same

[5:10] conclusions about reality. Vedic

[5:12] philosophy spoke of Maya, the grand

[5:14] illusion. Then there's the great

[5:16] Platonic/Socratic

[5:18] tale of Plato's Cave that was getting to

[5:21] the same point. This is a topic we've

[5:23] covered on the channel before, but it

[5:24] absolutely bears repeating, and I

[5:26] believe it is highly relevant if we want

[5:29] to understand the truth of the UFO

[5:31] phenomenon. So first, what does Plato's

[5:33] Cave really say? What was this sage

[5:35] trying to communicate about the nature

[5:37] of reality? Well, let's run through the

[5:39] story. It is important to note that it

[5:42] is nested within a much larger context,

[5:45] uh Plato's most sprawling work, in fact,

[5:48] but we will fill in the context as we

[5:50] go. And just to avoid confusion, if all

[5:52] of this is new for you, Socrates is

[5:54] Plato's teacher. In most of the

[5:56] dialogues, Socrates is essentially the

[5:59] wisest person. He is the fount of

[6:01] wisdom. Plato himself is never in his

[6:04] own dialogues. So, sometimes you'll hear

[6:06] me say Plato or Socrates almost

[6:09] interchangeably. Let's picture it the

[6:10] way Socrates tells Glaucon to picture

[6:13] it. By the way, Glaucon is Plato's

[6:15] brother. That's who he's talking to as

[6:16] he's telling the story. He says,

[6:18] "Imagine the mouth of a cave that

[6:19] descends downward. In it, there are

[6:22] people who have lived since childhood.

[6:24] Not only that, but these people are

[6:25] chained so completely that all they've

[6:28] ever seen is the cave wall in front of

[6:30] them. Unbeknownst to them, there are

[6:32] torches burning behind them. And there

[6:34] are mysterious matrix keepers who are

[6:37] running this whole operation. They carry

[6:39] statues, figures, and artifacts along

[6:41] this raised path, and these objects cast

[6:44] a shadow on the wall. So again, the

[6:46] prisoners never see these people. They

[6:48] never see the fire or these objects,

[6:50] even. They only see the shadows they

[6:52] cast on the wall. And because these

[6:54] shadows are all they've ever seen, they

[6:57] take them as completely real. They get

[6:59] totally absorbed in these shadow dramas.

[7:02] But then one day, everything changes.

[7:05] One prisoner is freed. Socrates doesn't

[7:07] tell us how. And he says something else

[7:10] that I think is hugely important and

[7:12] often overlooked. When this prisoner is

[7:14] freed, it is not a triumphant escape

[7:18] from the matrix Neo moment. The prisoner

[7:21] is terrified. He wants to go back to his

[7:24] familiar world. He wants to go back to

[7:26] the shadow reality. He wants to go back

[7:28] to his chains. Socrates actually says

[7:31] this prisoner would need to be dragged

[7:34] out of the cave. And that on his path

[7:36] upward, every single checkpoint, every

[7:39] moment, would be confusing, painful, and

[7:43] terrifying. Turning around and seeing

[7:45] the fire for the first time would blind

[7:47] him. Seeing these people, these

[7:49] mysterious figures, would confuse him.

[7:51] >> [music]

[7:51] >> With each new initiation, the adjustment

[7:54] is slow. First, he gets used to just

[7:56] seeing the shadows of real objects, then

[7:58] their reflections in water, then the

[8:00] real things themselves. Then, he sees

[8:03] the marvel of the night sky, the stars,

[8:06] the moon, and finally he sees something

[8:09] which holds a very special place in

[8:11] Plato and Socrates' philosophy, the sun

[8:15] itself. Slowly, he comes to fully

[8:17] realize the dark truth that what he

[8:19] thought was real was a complete

[8:21] deception, an illusory prison, a total

[8:24] misrepresentation

[8:26] of reality, of a deeper truth.

[8:29] And now that he knows this, the freed

[8:30] prisoner, or you could argue a newly

[8:33] minted philosopher, knows that it's his

[8:35] duty to go back down into the cave and

[8:38] tell everybody what he's learned, tell

[8:40] everybody that they're essentially

[8:42] living in a simulation. But, as he

[8:44] descends back into the cave, he has the

[8:47] opposite problem. His eyes are no longer

[8:49] used to the darkness. The other

[8:51] prisoners see him stumbling, unable to

[8:53] get his bearings. They believe leaving

[8:55] the cave has made him a deranged madman.

[8:58] He tries to reason with them. He tries

[9:00] to break their chains. He tries to lead

[9:02] them upward. But, when he does, they do

[9:04] not welcome it. They form a mob, and

[9:07] they end him right there. This, Socrates

[9:10] tells us, is the tale of the cave. But,

[9:14] this does beg a number of questions.

[9:16] What are the deeper, more esoteric

[9:18] layers of this? What does this really

[9:20] have to do with reality? You're probably

[9:22] also wondering, what isn't this a UFO

[9:24] video? I promise, the dots will

[9:27] eventually connect. So, first of course,

[9:29] Socrates is pointing out that this is

[9:31] the condition of humans. This is the

[9:33] condition of you and I. We are stuck in

[9:37] this sensory prison akin to Plato's

[9:40] Cave. We mistake what we perceive with

[9:43] our senses for reality. And if we want

[9:45] to free ourselves from this condition,

[9:47] we have to escape this cave toward

[9:50] something more real. But how is that

[9:52] done? Luckily, Plato provides us a map.

[9:55] Socrates presents us with the divided

[9:57] line, which is a whole rabbit hole onto

[10:00] itself, but we're going to give just a

[10:01] brief overview here because it is

[10:03] consequential to this whole new way of

[10:05] seeing reality. So, the divided line is

[10:08] this diagram that divides wisdom and

[10:10] reality into multiple layers and really

[10:13] purities of kinds of knowing. As you'll

[10:16] see on the left, Plato is communicating

[10:18] that what is real is not out there as we

[10:21] perceive it with our senses. What's more

[10:23] real is intelligible. It's perceivable

[10:26] only by the mind's higher faculties, not

[10:29] our senses. The realm of the cave is at

[10:32] the bottom, these first two brackets

[10:34] here. Eikasia and Pistis, to use the

[10:36] Greek words. The cave is the realm of

[10:38] objects, things, images, copies,

[10:42] opinions, faith, belief. This is what

[10:45] today we would call naive realism, or

[10:48] within the story, this is looking at the

[10:50] shadows on the cave wall and thinking

[10:52] that they are literally real. As we

[10:54] climb the ladder of reality, we climb

[10:56] the ladder of consciousness itself. We

[10:59] enter the realm of logic and math and

[11:01] geometry, and the highest mode of

[11:03] consciousness that our minds can reach,

[11:05] noesis, which is essentially a state of

[11:07] knowing and being at the same time. It's

[11:10] intuitive, it feels like a memory or as

[11:13] they would call it an anamnesis. And

[11:15] though I'm tempted to, we don't really

[11:16] need to go deeper into this right now.

[11:18] The most important thing is this

[11:21] unintuitive turn that we need to do.

[11:24] Just as the freed prisoner had to do. He

[11:27] had to completely reorient his ontology,

[11:30] his understanding of reality. He thought

[11:32] what was real was on the cave wall in

[11:34] front of him, the shadows, just as we

[11:37] feel that our senses are telling us the

[11:39] truth about reality. Plato/Socrates are

[11:42] making a profound claim here on the

[11:44] left. That what's more real is actually

[11:48] not physical, not sensory. You'll see

[11:51] the bottom of this map is what's less

[11:54] real. And that essentially the highest

[11:56] forms of knowledge are mental and

[11:59] psychical. And this is where we connect

[12:01] the dots. This is where I believe this

[12:03] becomes very central to the UFO, the

[12:05] phenomenon, mystery. Because what if the

[12:08] problem is not that the phenomenon is

[12:10] just hidden from us or using some higher

[12:12] technology? What if the problem is that

[12:16] we're perceiving the phenomenon in the

[12:18] same way the prisoners were perceiving

[12:20] shadows on the cave wall?

[12:22] I believe this is what we're doing when

[12:24] we perceive the phenomenon through our

[12:27] senses or even through our

[12:29] instrumentation. So, more specifically,

[12:31] what if the craft, the lights, the

[12:34] beings, the impossible movements, the

[12:36] archetypal experiences, the trickster

[12:38] aspects, what if all of these are not

[12:40] the phenomenon in its essence, but its

[12:43] shadows on the wall of our psyches?

[12:46] So, to summarize, as Plato and Socrates

[12:48] are arguing, appearance and true reality

[12:52] are far from the same thing. And if

[12:55] that's true, then it makes sense that a

[12:57] phenomenon from a deeper layer of

[12:59] reality would constantly be

[13:01] destabilizing our categories, would

[13:03] totally overwhelm us, totally confuse

[13:06] us. And that possibility that we're not

[13:08] just dealing with objects in the sky,

[13:10] higher technologies, but with a reality

[13:13] that exceeds sensory perception itself,

[13:16] I believe this is where we have to

[13:18] begin.

[13:20] So, great. We're trapped in Plato's

[13:21] cave. We are trapped in a simulation.

[13:24] Given that, the next question is

[13:26] obvious.

[13:27] How did Plato himself get out of it? Did

[13:30] he have contact with these deeper

[13:32] realms, with these higher entities?

[13:34] I believe the answer is yes. For

[13:37] instance, we know Plato was an initiate

[13:38] of the famous Eleusinian mysteries,

[13:41] where one was said to encounter the

[13:43] goddess directly. We also know that

[13:46] Plato had hidden doctrines, agrapha

[13:47] dogmata, that were not written down or

[13:50] at least not part of his extant

[13:52] materials that we have today.

[13:54] So, the specifics here are sadly scarce,

[13:57] but where things get very overt, higher

[13:59] intelligences are directly contacted, is

[14:03] centuries later with the Neoplatonists,

[14:06] specifically the mysterious practice of

[14:09] theurgy.

[14:11] A quick caveat, there is a tremendous

[14:13] amount that we do not know about this

[14:15] tradition and these specific practices

[14:18] and rituals themselves. This is a

[14:20] tradition that is fragmentary, some

[14:22] texts are totally lost, but even with

[14:25] these limitations, we know enough to

[14:26] sketch out the broad outline of what

[14:29] these sages were doing and what

[14:31] intelligences they believed they were

[14:33] connecting with. And why, in my opinion

[14:35] at least, it's so eerily similar in many

[14:38] cases to the UFO phenomenon. So, first a

[14:41] quick definition of this mysterious

[14:43] practice of theurgy. Theurgy comes from

[14:46] a Greek word theourgia, which translates

[14:48] to something like divine working or god

[14:51] working. And this already tells you

[14:53] something important, this was a sacred

[14:55] practice aimed at elevating the soul,

[14:58] communion with these divine

[15:00] intelligences, ascent toward higher

[15:02] orders of being, in a way hinted at in

[15:04] Plato's cave, and the ultimate goal was

[15:07] what these sages called henosis, like a

[15:10] state of pure absorption back into the

[15:13] foundational oneness of reality. So,

[15:15] basically, these theurgists were

[15:18] philosopher-sage-magicians.

[15:20] They were doing rituals, they had a

[15:23] whole lost ritual art that used symbols,

[15:26] invocations, sacrifices, offerings,

[15:29] sacred objects, and a lot of discipline.

[15:32] These were wise men who spent their

[15:34] lives preparing for this work through

[15:36] rigorously training their minds and

[15:38] studying and living a pretty ascetic

[15:40] lifestyle in most cases.

[15:42] They were basically monk moding their

[15:45] entire life. I don't know if that's a

[15:47] thing people still say. If you look into

[15:49] this tradition of theurgy, you'll find a

[15:50] few key names. Uh Julian the Theurgist

[15:53] who's the mysterious source of this

[15:55] practice seemingly, the Emperor Julian

[15:58] strangely enough, an emperor by the same

[16:00] name who tried to actually institute

[16:04] these theurgic ritual practices in an

[16:06] official way in the Roman Empire.

[16:08] Incredibly fascinating figure, but the

[16:10] two that we're going to focus on most in

[16:12] this video are Iamblichus and Proclus.

[16:15] Iamblichus of Chalcis was the great

[16:17] philosopher and theurgist who also seems

[16:20] to be a priest or initiate of the

[16:22] Egyptian mysteries. At least this is how

[16:24] he presents himself in his most famous

[16:27] work on the mysteries which we're going

[16:29] to get more into in a moment. And the

[16:31] other important node in this tradition

[16:34] that I just mentioned is Proclus. He's

[16:36] another Neoplatonic magician philosopher

[16:39] who we have a lot of extant work from.

[16:41] Uh try reading some of his work. It will

[16:43] absolutely break your brain. If you are

[16:45] well versed in the phenomenon and all of

[16:48] its shades of high weirdness, I think

[16:50] you're going to find these two figures

[16:51] Iamblichus and Proclus particularly

[16:54] fascinating. Because they explicitly

[16:56] speak of manifestations and happenings

[16:59] that are eerily similar to the UFO

[17:01] phenomenon. So like I just mentioned

[17:03] earlier in Iamblichus's on the

[17:05] mysteries, he speaks as more than just a

[17:07] philosopher. He positions himself as a

[17:10] lineage holder defending this sacred

[17:13] science of contacting higher

[17:14] intelligences through what he calls

[17:16] theurgy which he says is rooted in older

[17:19] Egyptian and Chaldean practices. So, as

[17:22] promised, what does he speak of that

[17:24] sounds so eerily familiar to the UFO

[17:26] phenomenon? Luminous manifestations.

[17:30] Presences that exceed ordinary sense

[17:32] perception, and encounters that seem to

[17:34] blur the line between visions,

[17:36] intelligences, and reality itself.

[17:40] Before I start quoting, despite those

[17:42] similarities that I mentioned, I am not

[17:44] trying to say that whatever is showing

[17:46] up in these theurgic practices is

[17:48] exactly the same as what is showing up

[17:50] in the modern UFO phenomenon. But, I do

[17:52] think there is overlap, and I do think

[17:54] that the ancients may have preserved a

[17:56] language or sacred technology that

[17:58] literally allowed them to engage with

[18:00] intelligences and parts of reality that

[18:03] are at least, at times, profoundly

[18:05] similar to some aspects of the UFO

[18:08] phenomenon.

[18:09] Parts of reality and intelligences that

[18:12] do not fit cleanly into modern maps of

[18:15] reality. Manifestations that also seem

[18:17] to come with mental, psychical, and

[18:21] spiritual components. Quote, "And the

[18:24] phasmata, indeed, of the gods will be

[18:26] seen shining with salutary light, which

[18:29] means a good and pleasant light." In

[18:32] addition to these things, also, the

[18:34] magnitude of the epiphanies or

[18:36] manifestations indeed is so great as

[18:39] sometimes to conceal all heaven, the

[18:42] sun, and the moon.

[18:44] He also explains that one can determine

[18:46] what kind of being they're dealing with

[18:49] through studying these qualities of

[18:51] light. And what are these beings?

[18:53] According to Iamblichus, they are

[18:55] archangels, angels, daemones, archons,

[18:58] the list goes on.

[19:00] I know for some of you terms like angels

[19:02] and demons are incredibly loaded. And

[19:04] yes, for sure, we are talking about

[19:07] spiritual beings. But, it's important to

[19:09] note that the modern understanding of

[19:11] these entities differs in a lot of

[19:14] important ways from what's being

[19:16] described here. For these sages, these

[19:18] beings are essentially incorporeal, at

[19:20] least usually. They are intelligences

[19:22] from a higher plane. And another

[19:24] especially important distinction here, a

[19:26] daimon is not the same thing as a demon

[19:30] in the modern sense, though they do

[19:32] share the same root word. In the older

[19:34] understanding, a daimon is essentially

[19:37] an intermediary spiritual being that

[19:39] brings information down from a higher

[19:42] realm or has some other kind of function

[19:45] to fulfill. There are actually multiple

[19:47] types and classes of daimones, but I

[19:49] will resist the urge to get too into the

[19:52] weeds on celestial hierarchies right

[19:55] now. Quote, "Those of archangels are

[19:58] full of supernatural light. Those of

[20:00] angels are luminous, but daimons present

[20:03] themselves to the view with a turbid

[20:05] fire. The light of heroes is mingled

[20:07] with many things. And with respect to

[20:09] archons, the light of those that have

[20:11] the government of the world is more

[20:13] pure, but those that preside over matter

[20:16] exhibits itself mingled from things of a

[20:19] dissimilar and contrary nature. And the

[20:21] light of souls manifests itself to be

[20:24] partably filled with the many mixtures

[20:26] which exist in generation." So,

[20:28] essentially here he's mostly going from

[20:30] a higher order to a lower order.

[20:33] Archangels are of the purest forms of

[20:34] light. Things that are closer to Earth

[20:36] have a more mixed nature. And this is

[20:39] actually just one of a few different

[20:40] sections in on the mysteries where

[20:42] Iamblichus describes the qualities of

[20:44] these lights and what orders of beings

[20:46] they belong to. Of course, by now this

[20:48] should be sounding pretty familiar if

[20:50] you are an aficionado of UFO lore or an

[20:53] experiencer.

[20:55] Lights and orbs make up a large portion

[20:57] of UFO sightings, of course.

[20:59] Practitioners of CE5, experiencers like

[21:02] Chris Bledsoe, they all describe and

[21:04] sometimes reportedly capture footage of

[21:07] these lights. But, it's not just beings

[21:09] or intelligences in the form of lights.

[21:12] Iamblichus also describes today what we

[21:15] would call psychical features of these

[21:17] encounters. For instance, quote,

[21:19] "Illuminations that come down from the

[21:21] gods of inspirations imparted from them,

[21:24] and even of divine foreknowledge being

[21:26] implanted within the soul." So,

[21:29] inspirations and foreknowledge implanted

[21:32] in the soul. We're talking about

[21:34] downloads, my friends. Psychic

[21:36] transmissions of information from some

[21:39] higher source. Again, sounds incredibly

[21:41] similar to the accounts of many

[21:43] experiencers. Specifically, when they

[21:46] speak of mind-to-mind or nonverbal

[21:48] instantaneous forms of communication or

[21:51] just immediate kinds of knowing. So, we

[21:54] already just briefly touched on what

[21:56] they believed these beings were, but

[21:59] what is the larger view of reality these

[22:01] sages had? We could sincerely spend

[22:05] hours unpacking the metaphysics of

[22:07] Proclus and Iamblichus and these other

[22:09] sages,

[22:10] but I do want to provide at least a

[22:11] general overview of how they and related

[22:14] thinkers conceived of reality. And even

[22:16] with this greatly nutshelled version of

[22:18] their view of reality, you'll start to

[22:20] see why this could be consequential and

[22:24] applicable when it comes to the

[22:25] phenomenon. So, first, they had an

[22:27] emanationist view of reality, meaning

[22:30] they believed that there is a central

[22:31] source from which everything originated.

[22:34] This central source is the one. It's the

[22:37] highest principle of reality, absolute

[22:39] unity, totally beyond category, being,

[22:43] thought.

[22:44] And then the first thing that emerges

[22:45] from this one are these sort of highest

[22:48] divine intelligences. If you want to get

[22:50] nerdy, Proclus called these divine

[22:52] unities henads. The next one, this one

[22:55] is huge for my argument here, is nous or

[22:59] intellect. This is the the of divine

[23:02] mind, eternal intelligibility, forms,

[23:05] archetypes, perfect thought. It is like

[23:08] the psychical divine mind realm that is

[23:10] more real than the physical world

[23:12] because the physical world descends from

[23:15] this realm. And then there's soul. And

[23:17] you might be thinking, wait, soul is a

[23:19] dimension, a level of reality? Um yes

[23:23] and no. In this metaphysical system, the

[23:26] cosmos itself is ensouled. This is what

[23:29] they called the world soul. And we are

[23:32] all partaking in it. We are all

[23:34] participating in it on an individual

[23:36] level. It's an as above so below type

[23:38] situation where our micro cosmic soul

[23:41] reflects the macro cosmic soul. For

[23:44] these sages, soul was like this

[23:46] intermediary realm or force or quality.

[23:49] It is between this realm of divine mind

[23:52] and the physical realm. This includes

[23:53] everything from the world soul, the

[23:56] cosmic soul, uh down to uh individual

[24:00] mortals' souls. And this is where all of

[24:02] these intermediary beings come in that I

[24:04] think could be related again to the UFO

[24:07] phenomenon, angels, daimones, archons,

[24:10] etc. And then we get down to the realm

[24:12] of nature and matter, uh the deepest

[24:15] levels of Plato's cave. It's the

[24:17] furthest from the perfect unity of the

[24:19] one, but everything still retains a

[24:22] trace of the one. And an important final

[24:24] note, I think pretty much every

[24:26] Neoplatonist philosopher believes that

[24:28] there is this pull from the one that we

[24:30] will eventually return back to the one.

[24:32] Maybe maybe I am Lukis doesn't, but we

[24:34] won't nerd out on that right now. So I

[24:36] wanted to go over that not just because

[24:38] I think it's interesting, but think

[24:40] about this. That kind of

[24:41] multi-dimensional existence that I just

[24:44] mentioned there, um even though we do

[24:46] have physical bodies and we perceive

[24:49] ourselves as down in this physical realm

[24:52] of nature, you know, in Plato's cave if

[24:54] you will, we also simultaneously exist

[24:58] in all of those other dimensions that I

[25:00] just mentioned. We do carry the one

[25:02] within us. We are participating in the

[25:05] divine mind to some degree. We do have

[25:08] souls. And if we begin to view reality

[25:11] in this way, we start to see that if we

[25:14] exist in multiple dimensions at the same

[25:16] time, the phenomenon does as well. And

[25:20] if it's primarily descended from higher

[25:22] realms of reality, that explains some of

[25:24] its high weirdness. That explains why we

[25:27] can't fully capture it by looking at it

[25:29] through scientific instrumentation. If

[25:31] these beings are from a higher realm, it

[25:33] makes sense that they would be able to

[25:35] use physical forms, project physical

[25:37] forms, but not primarily be those forms,

[25:40] or at least not be reducible to those.

[25:43] Another incredibly interesting quote to

[25:46] this point, and this is a quote that

[25:47] I've used a lot on the show because I

[25:49] think it's just so remarkable and

[25:51] illustrative of what I'm trying to say

[25:53] here. Quote, "The gods themselves are

[25:55] incorporeal, but since those who see

[25:57] them possess bodies, the visions which

[26:00] issue forth from the gods to worthy

[26:03] recipients possess a certain quality

[26:05] from the gods who send them, but also

[26:08] derive something from those who see

[26:10] them. This is why the gods are seen, yet

[26:13] not seen at all." And to a similar

[26:15] point, "In fact, those who see the gods

[26:18] witness them in their luminous garments

[26:20] of their souls. Since the visions have

[26:22] physical extension and appear in the

[26:24] same kind of atmosphere, they are akin

[26:27] to those who see them." So, two major

[26:29] points here. This gets across first the

[26:32] idea I mentioned earlier, that whatever

[26:34] is extending into our sensory awareness,

[26:37] into our minds when we're encountering

[26:40] these things, we see them, yet we don't

[26:42] see them at all, as the quote said. This

[26:44] is not their true form. That's point

[26:47] number one. Point number two is that

[26:48] there's a sort of meeting in the middle.

[26:50] There's something from the source, from

[26:52] what Proclus is calling a god in this

[26:54] case, and something from our own minds

[26:57] that brings about its manifestation or

[27:00] the way that it appears to us. So again,

[27:02] I have to ask, could this be part of

[27:04] what's going on with the UFO phenomenon?

[27:06] I ask because there is this weird

[27:08] tension between multiplicity and

[27:11] similarity. There are so many forms, so

[27:14] many descriptions, so many shapes of

[27:16] craft, yet they do kind of follow a

[27:18] similar grammar. Is that because we're

[27:21] actually seeing some combination of our

[27:23] own psyches mixed with the

[27:25] characteristics of the beings

[27:27] themselves? There's a final piece of

[27:29] this that's too intriguing to pass up

[27:31] before we move on to the next section of

[27:33] this exploration. And it was just

[27:35] mentioned in that quote before that we

[27:37] are not just souls, but we have soul

[27:40] vehicles. We have these subtle bodies.

[27:42] And so do these entities. And this again

[27:45] points out another tantalizing

[27:47] similarity to the modern UFO phenomenon,

[27:50] specifically orbs and lights. So

[27:53] according to Plotinus and Hermeticism

[27:55] and Western Esotericism in general,

[27:57] pretty much, the soul is usually thought

[27:59] of as round and self-moving. Actually,

[28:02] more accurately spherical as it is

[28:04] originally laid out in Plato's dialogue

[28:07] Timaeus.

[28:08] The more esoteric folks, again the

[28:09] Neoplatonists, they get more into the

[28:11] metaphysical nitty-gritty of this. They

[28:14] say this vehicle is comprised of pneuma,

[28:16] which literally translates to breath,

[28:18] but it's like the vital essence. And

[28:21] they also compare it to a luminous

[28:23] substance that the stars are made of.

[28:25] Tell me that doesn't sound like an orb.

[28:27] Uh it's not just humans that have these

[28:29] soul vehicles. These intermediary beings

[28:32] have them as well. These angels, these

[28:34] daimones, have them as well. So here's a

[28:37] crazy question. Could these soul

[28:39] vehicles be what experiencers are

[28:41] witnessing when they encounter an orb?

[28:44] Author and religious scholar Dr. Jeff

[28:46] Kripal actually suggested this on a

[28:48] podcast.

[28:49] >> What I'm trying to say with the

[28:50] spirituality of the flying saucer is

[28:53] last night we had we had a Jain lecture

[28:56] at my university. Jainism is basically a

[28:58] a strongly dualistic religious system in

[29:02] which the soul separates from the

[29:05] material world and realizes its own uh

[29:08] infinite immortality and and becomes a

[29:11] sphere by the way often.

[29:14] Um

[29:15] but the images of of these these

[29:17] realized uh human beings is just a

[29:20] cutout. It's a cutout of a piece of

[29:23] metal or a stone and it looks exactly

[29:25] like a space alien.

[29:26] Cultures have had these experiences and

[29:29] they've even experienced the soul as a

[29:31] sphere.

[29:32] And they've talked about the soul as a

[29:33] sphere by the way.

[29:35] Jainism is one but Neoplatonism's

[29:37] another. I mean, we can go through a

[29:38] whole series of ancient systems in which

[29:41] the spirit or the soul is literally seen

[29:43] as a flying saucer as it were.

[29:45] Okay?

[29:45] >> Mhm.

[29:46] >> Why is that?

[29:47] >> And for some reason I find this to be

[29:49] the craziest possibility of all. What if

[29:51] what we're encountering during an orb

[29:54] event is something from our own souls?

[29:58] As one of my favorite thinkers Terence

[29:59] McKenna said, "People are so alienated

[30:02] from their own soul that when they meet

[30:04] their soul, they think it comes from

[30:06] another star system."

[30:08] So now that we've covered this ancient

[30:10] map that could potentially explain the

[30:12] phenomenon, a multi-dimensional cosmos

[30:15] that descends from one through the

[30:18] divine intellect, soul, and non-physical

[30:21] intermediary beings where the visible

[30:23] world is really only like the outermost

[30:26] uh blemish on the face of reality, then

[30:29] the obvious question is this. Does

[30:31] anything resembling this way of seeing

[30:33] survive into modern ufology and are

[30:36] there thinkers who are carrying this

[30:38] forward? Well, uh it does and there are.

[30:42] Some of the most respected contemporary

[30:44] researchers, after years of confronting

[30:46] the phenomenon first hand, begin to

[30:48] sound as though they are circling back

[30:50] toward a reality model that looks far

[30:52] closer to Plato and Hermeticism and

[30:55] Theurgy than modern materialism. For

[30:58] instance, John Keel, J. Allen Hynek, the

[31:00] great Jacques Vallee, authors like

[31:02] Patrick Harper, author of Demonic

[31:04] Reality, and more. Sadly, we're going to

[31:06] have to reduce all of them to just a

[31:08] couple of minutes because the scope of

[31:09] this transmission can't even come close

[31:12] to going deep on all of them. You're

[31:13] going to again see a clear pattern

[31:16] emerging. Let's start with giants of

[31:19] this realm, J. Allen Hynek and Jacques

[31:21] Vallee. First, J. Allen Hynek. He's an

[31:24] astrophysicist who I initially assumed

[31:27] started as a fully materialistic, you

[31:29] know, science-grounded skeptic,

[31:32] especially considering he was publicly

[31:33] debunking UFO sightings as swamp gas and

[31:37] such. But, that is not entirely true.

[31:39] The astrophysicist always had an

[31:41] interest in big questions. In his

[31:43] Forbidden Science 6, his friend and

[31:46] collaborator Jacques Vallee said that

[31:49] Hynek actually believed that he may have

[31:51] been recruited into classified programs

[31:54] because he had an interest in the

[31:56] esoteric. In case you aren't familiar,

[31:58] Hynek was recruited to work on multiple

[32:00] classified projects having to do with

[32:02] the UFOs, Project Grudge, Project Blue

[32:05] Book. The deeper he went into the cases

[32:07] he found to be credible, the less this

[32:09] looked like a simple error or even a

[32:11] straightforward extraterrestrial

[32:13] problem. By the 1970s, Hynek was

[32:15] sounding more openly mystical. He was

[32:18] arguing that the phenomenon pointed to

[32:19] both a physical and extra-dimensional

[32:21] aspect, citing materialization and

[32:24] dematerialization, shape-changing,

[32:26] telepathic effects, levitation, and

[32:28] other features that just did not fit

[32:31] within a nuts-and-bolts physicalist

[32:33] frame. But, it doesn't stop there. On an

[32:35] episode of my show, when I was talking

[32:36] to his son, Paul Hynek, he told me that

[32:39] his father became deeply interested in

[32:41] Rosicrucianism and even followed a

[32:43] Rosicrucian burial ritual when he passed

[32:46] away. And to underscore exactly why

[32:48] that's relevant, Rosicrucianism grows

[32:51] out of the very same Western esoteric

[32:53] milieu that we were just discussing,

[32:55] Neoplatonism, Hermeticism, they have a

[32:57] very similar metaphysical picture of

[33:00] reality. There are numerous other

[33:02] intelligent life forms, and the visible

[33:04] world reflects higher invisible realms.

[33:07] Then there's the legendary Jacques

[33:09] Vallee, who was a friend of Hynek's.

[33:11] Across his incredible body of work from

[33:13] Passport to Magonia to Dimensions, he

[33:17] keeps returning to a few of the same

[33:19] core insights. And one of them is that

[33:22] the phenomenon is too strange, too

[33:24] multifaceted, too shapeshifting to be

[33:27] explained by the extraterrestrial

[33:29] hypothesis, to be explained by the idea

[33:31] that what we're seeing is simply

[33:34] travelers who came from another planet.

[33:36] And another of these insights should

[33:38] sound familiar, that the phenomenon

[33:40] shapeshifts. It changes depending on

[33:43] who's looking, depending on what the

[33:45] time is, the context, the culture,

[33:48] exactly like Proclus said in that quote

[33:50] earlier. In a fairly recent interview,

[33:52] he also put it this way, "We are dealing

[33:54] with something that is both

[33:55] technological and psychic. It seems to

[33:58] be able to manipulate other dimensions."

[34:00] This is a hugely consequential

[34:02] statement, so let's unpack this for a

[34:04] second. He's saying that it both is and

[34:06] isn't all of these different categories

[34:09] that we name it by. It is technological,

[34:12] but it's also psychical, it also

[34:13] shapeshifts, and this means it must

[34:16] logically therefore occupy a higher

[34:20] ontological rank than us. It must reside

[34:23] in a higher dimensional form than we do,

[34:26] or at least than we can perceive with

[34:28] our senses. It has the ability to be

[34:30] physical and psychical and appear in

[34:32] different forms, but it can't be fully

[34:34] captured by any of these facets. And

[34:37] this is why Vallée always circles back

[34:39] to myth and folklore and the esoteric,

[34:42] because these kinds of vessels are the

[34:44] only ones that can hold all of the

[34:47] multifaceted weirdness of the

[34:49] phenomenon. And to me, Vallée's interest

[34:51] in the esoteric is very clear. There's a

[34:54] Wired profile on him that presents him

[34:56] as this guy [music] with this enormous

[34:58] esoteric library. And I believe that's

[35:00] because he's convinced that modern UFO

[35:03] cases and older visionary or folkloric

[35:07] encounters or esoteric uh practices

[35:10] probably all belong to the same deep

[35:12] pattern. A pattern where the phenomenon

[35:15] does not just arrive as a machine from

[35:17] outer space. It's a phenomenon that

[35:19] wears the symbols of the age that it

[35:21] encounters. It presents itself through

[35:24] the categories available to the culture

[35:27] while still retaining some stable core

[35:29] beneath that mask. Again, doesn't this

[35:31] sound incredibly similar to that quote

[35:34] that Proclus made from the previous

[35:36] chapter of this video? The notion that

[35:38] these beings wear the mask of something

[35:40] familiar to the experiencer's psyche

[35:43] while also retaining some features of

[35:45] themselves. And then there are some

[35:47] pretty on-the-nose elements of Vallée's

[35:49] belief system as well, it feels like.

[35:52] Even one of his well-known books, The

[35:53] Invisible College, is kind of telling.

[35:55] Historically, that phrase evokes not

[35:57] only, you know, hidden networks of early

[35:59] scientific thinkers, but also the

[36:01] Rosicrucian lore of a secret fraternity

[36:04] preserving deeper, more ancient esoteric

[36:06] truths held by special initiates.

[36:09] Whether Vallée actually intended both of

[36:10] those meanings or not, I don't know. But

[36:13] it certainly fits him well, because he

[36:15] himself kind of occupies that midpoint.

[36:18] He stands at the border between science,

[36:20] myth, consciousness, you know, the

[36:23] esoteric throughout his work. And then

[36:25] there's another direct link to

[36:27] Rosicrucianism via religious scholar and

[36:29] author Diana Pasulka. Pasulka spent time

[36:32] with Vallee while she was researching

[36:34] her book American Cosmic and on an

[36:36] episode of Rogan she said directly that

[36:38] both Hynek and Vallee were Rosicrucians.

[36:42] >> In the book what I do is I uncover not

[36:43] just him but Allan Hynek. They are were

[36:45] friends. And they were both Rosicrucians

[36:48] which is a

[36:49] form of he might not like me to say this

[36:51] but it's a form of mystical Christianity

[36:53] in a sense but a lot of Rosicrucians

[36:56] don't view their roots as Christian.

[36:57] They they look at it as Egyptian but

[37:00] it's basically it's an esoteric

[37:02] tradition and it involves meditation. I

[37:05] think it most likely involves this thing

[37:06] that you and I have been discussing in

[37:08] this the whole talk so far is the pineal

[37:10] gland thing, you know, the the access

[37:13] point because both of them believe in

[37:15] this kind of life, this meditating and

[37:17] things like that. And so I included

[37:19] references. Everything I say in my books

[37:21] by the way, I pass to the person that

[37:23] I'm writing a chapter about. So

[37:25] everything that I said about Jacques, I

[37:27] gave it to him beforehand and I said,

[37:28] "Are you okay with me saying this

[37:30] publicly?"

[37:30] >> Now to be fair to Vallee in his own

[37:32] words in a 2025 interview he said that

[37:34] though he continues to be interested in

[37:36] Rosicrucianism, he's not personally

[37:39] affiliated with any groups. So to sum it

[37:41] up, I think Hynek and Vallee ran

[37:43] headfirst into the reality that whatever

[37:46] is going on with the phenomenon, it

[37:48] harmonizes more with Iamblichus and

[37:51] Theurgist and esotericism than it does

[37:54] with materialism and science. Jacques

[37:56] actually puts it really well in the end

[37:58] of that same podcast. Basically saying

[38:01] that the UFO mystery may not just be

[38:03] dragging us toward, you know, higher

[38:05] technology or civilizations from other

[38:07] planets but that it may be pulling us

[38:09] toward an older more esoteric map of

[38:11] reality. One in which mind and symbol

[38:16] are highly relevant and were really

[38:18] never cleanly separated in the first

[38:20] place. But we're not even close to done

[38:22] with just Vallée and Hynek. We've got to

[38:24] talk about John Keel, father of what he

[38:27] called the ultraterrestrial hypothesis.

[38:30] Now, unlike Hynek, who was openly

[38:32] interested in the esoteric, apparently,

[38:34] Keel himself did consider himself a

[38:37] skeptic and an atheist. But like Hynek,

[38:40] he came to believe that there was

[38:41] something indeed real about the

[38:43] phenomenon and that it could not be

[38:45] fully captured by the extraterrestrial

[38:47] hypothesis. Rather, that what we're

[38:49] witnessing is probably something more

[38:51] akin to intelligences materializing from

[38:54] a higher plane of reality that could

[38:56] take on a multitude of forms. For more

[38:58] on Keel, I would start with his books

[39:00] Operation Trojan Horse and The Eighth

[39:02] Tower. Uh but I think to sum up his

[39:04] views, this bit from Operation Trojan

[39:07] Horse does nicely. Now, perhaps we can

[39:09] better understand RAF Air Marshal Sir

[39:12] Victor Goddard's remarks. The astral

[39:14] world of illusion, which is greatly

[39:16] inhabited by illusion-prone spirits, is

[39:18] well-known for its multifarious

[39:20] imaginative

[39:22] and exhortations. Seemingly, some of its

[39:24] denizens are eager to exemplify

[39:27] principalities and powers. Others

[39:29] pronounce upon morality, spirituality,

[39:31] deity, etc. These illusion-prone spirits

[39:35] are responsible for nearly all of the

[39:37] UFO appearances and manipulations. The

[39:40] flying saucers do not come from some

[39:43] Buck Rogers type civilization on some

[39:45] distant planet. They are our next-door

[39:48] neighbors, part of another space-time

[39:51] continuum where life, matter, and energy

[39:54] are radically different from ours.

[39:56] Ancient man knew this and recognized it.

[39:59] Next, we've got to touch on Harvard

[40:00] psychiatrist and author John Mack, who

[40:03] was courageous enough to put his career

[40:05] on the line and take the UFO abduction

[40:07] phenomenon seriously. And although he

[40:09] did take it seriously, he didn't exactly

[40:12] take it literally. He believed that

[40:14] something was happening, but he did not

[40:17] largely believe, it seems to me, that

[40:19] there were literal abductions by

[40:21] physical space aliens occurring. I

[40:23] recently came across this clip of him

[40:25] talking to another one of my favorite

[40:27] thinkers, Terence McKenna, and he just

[40:29] puts it in a way that, again, gels so

[40:32] beautifully with what we're talking

[40:34] about here.

[40:35] >> I'm beginning to put together a

[40:36] structure of what this is about, and

[40:39] what I'm getting is, if you can think of

[40:41] the divine, or if you can think of the

[40:45] the world of both spirit with form and

[40:49] spirit without form, or the anima mundi,

[40:52] whatever your language for it, the great

[40:54] spirit, the holy spirit, whatever it is,

[40:58] it we have lost contact with it. It

[41:01] signals us, we don't listen.

[41:04] There are various ways that certain

[41:06] people have revelations and experiences.

[41:09] Occasionally, the more advanced

[41:11] spiritual people among us are

[41:13] reconnecting with the spirit, but for

[41:16] most of us, the only language that we

[41:18] know now is the language of the material

[41:21] world. So, it's as if the divinity say,

[41:23] "Okay, if that's all you understand,

[41:25] I'll give it to you in the material

[41:27] world. I'll give you

[41:29] physical manipulations, I'll give you

[41:31] reproductive connection, I'll give you

[41:33] cuts, scars, scoop marks, I'll give you

[41:36] burned earth where the UFOs land. It's

[41:39] showing up in the physical world. It may

[41:41] not be of the physical world as we know

[41:43] it, but it communicates in the physical

[41:46] world, and when something shows up in

[41:48] the physical world it belongs in the

[41:50] spirit world, that gets

[41:53] the stiff-necked

[41:55] materialist very excited.

[41:57] >> A couple of other more contemporary

[41:58] figures who are thinking in this

[42:00] direction, who I think are incredibly

[42:02] fascinating and brilliant. The first is

[42:04] Patrick Harper, author of Daimonic

[42:06] Reality, who told me, quote,

[42:08] >> Um, I don't think there's a culture

[42:10] which doesn't [music] believe in some

[42:11] form of fairy, jinn, alien, nymph, and

[42:16] so forth and so forth. I had to think of

[42:17] a a general name for them, so I just

[42:19] went to the ancient Greeks for whom

[42:21] these creatures were commonplace, as we

[42:23] know from Greek myth. And uh they called

[42:25] them daimones. And uh so I adopted that.

[42:28] But they knew where the daimones live.

[42:30] They knew where they came from. It is a

[42:32] whole autonomous realm. And I noticed

[42:36] that was completely analogous to Jung's

[42:38] collective unconscious. So I had all

[42:40] these models. I had all these models of

[42:42] places

[42:44] where the daimones came from, the soul

[42:46] of the world, the collective

[42:47] unconscious. And they I I could see that

[42:49] these were all analogous to each other.

[42:51] But the daimones that that inhabit these

[42:54] places, these realms, these states of

[42:57] mind, however you wish to characterize

[42:58] them, they

[43:00] change their shape to suit the times.

[43:02] [music] So what were once fairies are

[43:04] now so-called aliens from so-called

[43:06] outer space. But I I think they're from

[43:09] the same realm.

[43:10] >> Another figure I want to mention is

[43:11] Trevor James Constable. He's probably

[43:13] the least known on this list, but I find

[43:16] him to be particularly interesting

[43:18] because of his array of influences and

[43:21] his conclusions about the phenomenon. He

[43:23] was highly influenced by the great

[43:24] polymath and esotericist Rudolf Steiner,

[43:27] who again associated himself with, you

[43:30] guessed it, Rosicrucianism. Constable,

[43:33] piggybacking off the metaphysics of

[43:35] Steiner, believed the intelligences were

[43:37] etheric in nature. So again, the notion

[43:40] that the UFO phenomenon is not just nuts

[43:42] and bolts, but something from a higher,

[43:45] unseen dimension. That there's an

[43:47] intrusion occurring of the invisible

[43:50] into the visible. He conceived of them

[43:52] as etherians in either ships moving

[43:55] through this unseen etheric medium. As

[43:59] he put it in the beginning of his book,

[44:00] Cosmic Pulse of Life, "Of course UFOs

[44:03] are alive, living unseen beings, living

[44:05] in an ocean of living energy, living

[44:08] unseen macro bacteria, etheric fauna

[44:11] feeding on living energy and constructs,

[44:14] ships driven through space unseen by the

[44:16] living energy that fills all space. Uh

[44:19] he apparently is less concerned than I

[44:22] am about repeating the same word over

[44:24] and over again in two sentences. He said

[44:26] as he says the word esoteric

[44:29] for the billionth time in this video. So

[44:31] again, these thinkers, while all having

[44:33] many differences, acknowledge a lot of

[44:35] the same core points, that the

[44:37] phenomenon is primarily non-physical,

[44:40] that it seems to be a manifestation of

[44:42] higher intelligence that exists in some

[44:44] extended layer of reality. We could call

[44:47] this interdimensional, we could call

[44:49] this ultraterrestrial, we could call

[44:51] this etheric, noetic, or

[44:53] consciousness-based, or whatever, but

[44:55] the general picture really remains the

[44:56] same. That these phenomena are better

[44:59] understood as higher-dimensional,

[45:01] non-material, intermediary, and more

[45:04] subtle than gross. A take that

[45:06] harmonizes incredibly well with

[45:09] everything we discussed in part one,

[45:11] with Plato's cave, hermeticists, and

[45:13] theurgists, and the beings they claim to

[45:15] be in touch with. Now, the esoteric in

[45:18] ufology, that's one thing.

[45:20] But how crazy would it be if there were

[45:23] generals, colonels, high-ranking people

[45:25] within three-letter agencies, and at the

[45:28] world's largest intelligence contractors

[45:31] thinking along these exact same lines?

[45:34] Incredibly, my friends, that does seem

[45:37] to be the case.

[45:40] And admittedly, this is more speculative

[45:42] territory, but there are enough

[45:45] verified,

[45:46] public-facing breadcrumbs and novelty

[45:49] nuggets to indicate what appears to be a

[45:51] significant interest in this way of

[45:53] looking at the phenomenon and reality

[45:55] itself on the part of people within

[45:58] those aforementioned realms. For

[46:00] instance, where better to start than the

[46:02] brilliant, enigmatic, and unfortunately

[46:05] missing General Neil McCasland. He was

[46:08] the head of the Air Force's science and

[46:09] research division at the famed

[46:12] Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

[46:14] Wright-Patt is rumored to be involved in

[46:15] crash retrieval and reverse engineering,

[46:19] if indeed those are real things. And

[46:21] right off the bat, I want to say I don't

[46:22] think we have conclusive evidence in

[46:24] this case to say what McCasland's view

[46:27] on the phenomenon were, but here's what

[46:29] we do know, thanks to leaked emails.

[46:32] Emails between Tom DeLonge of Blink-182

[46:35] while he was trying to get his To the

[46:37] Stars project off the ground, no pun

[46:39] intended, which is a whole topic unto

[46:42] itself, but essentially To the Stars was

[46:45] trying to cause a public groundswell for

[46:47] UFO disclosure, and McCasland was one

[46:51] of, if not the primary advisor to Tom

[46:54] DeLonge and author and researcher Peter

[46:56] Levenda on their book projects that

[46:59] explore the phenomenon in a lot of

[47:02] esoteric and controversial ways. Books

[47:05] that explore the possibility of ancient

[47:07] encounters between humans and higher

[47:09] beings and consider the relationship

[47:11] between the phenomenon, mythology,

[47:13] magic, and the occult. Of course, it's

[47:15] difficult to tease all of this apart.

[47:18] What came directly from the research of

[47:20] the brilliant Peter Levenda, who is

[47:22] especially interested in these esoteric

[47:24] topics, and an advisor like McCasland.

[47:27] But we do know this interesting nugget

[47:29] for a fact, that McCasland said, "If you

[47:32] want to understand the phenomenon, you

[47:34] have to look to myth." And he

[47:36] specifically said to look into the myth

[47:39] of Prometheus, the titan who stole fire

[47:42] from the higher realm and brought it to

[47:44] humanity and was eternally punished as a

[47:47] result.

[47:48] >> It's a very well-known story because of

[47:50] WikiLeaks and all the rest of it that he

[47:52] had a number of advisors in the military

[47:54] who were talking to him.

[47:55] >> Yeah.

[47:56] >> They would just say, "What about this?"

[47:57] And what about that? Have you looked

[47:59] Follow the money." you know.

[48:00] Uh so, but it wasn't the money we were

[48:02] following. It was something else. It was

[48:03] um it was mythology. It was They were

[48:06] using Greek mythology, for instance, as

[48:08] a a kind of a

[48:11] context

[48:12] that we should use to understand things,

[48:14] which makes sense when you think of all

[48:17] the Greek names that NASA used for its

[48:19] space programs, flight, and everything

[48:21] else. So, one of our of our advisers

[48:25] tells Tom,

[48:26] uh

[48:27] "Look up the Prometheus, you know. Do

[48:28] you understand about the Prometheus

[48:29] story? That'll give you an insight as to

[48:31] what's going on." And Tom's like, "W-

[48:32] What?"

[48:34] >> Again, there's so much we can infer from

[48:35] this, but so much we ultimately don't

[48:38] know and have to speculate about. Is he

[48:40] aware of a hidden history where higher

[48:43] beings seeded or at least influenced

[48:45] humanity, brought us technology or

[48:47] knowledge like in the Prometheus myth?

[48:51] Or is it something less dramatic than

[48:53] that? But, this does immediately tip us

[48:55] off that McCasland was definitely

[48:57] thinking beyond nuts and bolts, which is

[48:59] especially interesting considering this

[49:01] is a guy with a PhD in nuts and bolts

[49:04] from MIT. So, why was he thinking in the

[49:06] direction of myth and higher beings,

[49:09] whatever he conceived of them to be? And

[49:12] though we don't know for a fact what he

[49:13] really believed or how involved he was

[49:16] with this project, DeLong seems to

[49:19] indicate that his involvement was pretty

[49:21] deep. He mentioned he's a skeptic. He's

[49:24] not. I've been working with him for 4

[49:26] months. I just got done giving him a

[49:28] 4-hour presentation on the entire

[49:30] project a few weeks ago. Trust me, the

[49:32] advice is already been happening on how

[49:35] to do all this. He just has to say that

[49:38] out loud, but he is very, very aware as

[49:41] he is in charge of all of the stuff.

[49:43] When Roswell crashed, they shipped it to

[49:46] the laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air

[49:47] Force Base. General McCasland was in

[49:50] charge of that exact laboratory up to a

[49:53] couple of months ago. He not only knows

[49:55] what I'm trying to achieve, he helped

[49:57] assemble my advisory team. He is a very

[50:00] important man.

[50:02] There are other things that have come to

[50:03] my attention with McCasland, with things

[50:06] that could have been going on at

[50:07] Wright-Patt, but I just could not find

[50:10] really concrete evidence of any of it.

[50:12] That said, of course, if I make any

[50:14] breakthroughs, I'll return to this topic

[50:16] in the future.

[50:17] But now let's get into some far more

[50:19] public-facing and verifiable and direct

[50:22] examples. Let's start with retired US

[50:25] Army Colonel Karl Nell, and also

[50:28] probably worth mentioning, he's also a

[50:30] Northrop Grumman executive. In a talk he

[50:33] gave at the SALT conference, he said,

[50:35] "Non-human intelligence exists, and it's

[50:37] been interacting with us for a very long

[50:39] time, and that there is zero doubt of

[50:42] that fact." Also, in a lesser-known talk

[50:44] that he gave to Rice University's

[50:46] Archives of the Impossible, a talk that

[50:49] he opened with an image of Plato and

[50:50] Aristotle, by the way, he said, quote,

[50:53] "Esotericism drives scientific

[50:55] innovation." In this talk, he also

[50:57] brings up consciousness and how that

[51:00] must be key to the phenomenon, and that

[51:02] he's not a fan of materialist, or I

[51:04] believe he actually said computational

[51:06] explanations of consciousness,

[51:09] you know, more specifically that our

[51:10] brain is just some kind of complex

[51:12] computer-like organ from which

[51:14] consciousness emerges.

[51:16] But there's more. Believe it or not, he

[51:19] specifically brings up the idea of

[51:21] reality being multi-dimensional and

[51:23] hierarchical.

[51:25] He says consciousness plays a role in

[51:27] both physics and metaphysics. He even

[51:30] specifically brings up the idea of

[51:32] apports toward the end of the talk.

[51:35] And if you're not familiar with apports,

[51:36] this is primarily a phenomenon that's

[51:38] discussed in a more spiritualist

[51:40] context, but also the UFO context, and

[51:43] this is essentially where things just

[51:45] materialize. Objects materialize out of

[51:48] thin air. And to get borderline

[51:50] stalkery, my buddy News Henosis on X,

[51:54] who is a very deep researcher on all of

[51:56] these topics, noticed that Nelle's

[51:58] esoteric interests extend far beyond

[52:01] these statements. So, why is a retired

[52:03] US Army Colonel, who's also an executive

[52:06] at Northrop Grumman, talking about these

[52:08] esoteric ideas? Why is he relating the

[52:11] philosophy of consciousness to the

[52:13] phenomenon? Why is he talking about this

[52:16] multidimensional hierarchical reality? I

[52:20] don't know. But it's definitely

[52:21] interesting. Then there's retired senior

[52:24] CIA officer Jim Semivan. He also made

[52:28] some fascinating, albeit sometimes

[52:29] vague, statements about the phenomenon

[52:32] and how it's so much stranger and

[52:33] difficult to explain than just the

[52:35] straightforward ET hypothesis allows

[52:38] for. Listen to this quote from a podcast

[52:40] he was on where he said the truth about

[52:42] the phenomenon is indigestible.

[52:44] >> What the hell do you say? I mean, you

[52:46] come out and you say,

[52:47] "Uh, we're

[52:48] There's another presence in the universe

[52:50] which we which visits us.

[52:53] Uh, and we don't understand it. But, you

[52:55] know, it's capable of, you know,

[52:57] transforming itself into anything it

[52:58] wants to do. It can manipulate matter.

[53:00] It can manipulate electromagnetic

[53:02] spectrum. Um, it can show us things that

[53:05] may be real or may not be real. Uh, it

[53:07] can be real and not real at the same

[53:08] time." I mean, you can just go on and on

[53:10] and on. And, um, then this whole idea of

[53:12] sovereignty comes in, free will comes

[53:14] in.

[53:14] >> When, you know, when things start to

[53:16] when people start asking the million

[53:17] questions they're going to have and

[53:19] you're basically saying we're powerless

[53:20] against a entity or entities that are

[53:23] here we can't see, we have no idea of

[53:25] their intentions and capabilities. Um,

[53:27] it may mean that, you know, we're just

[53:29] immaterial. I mean, you know, you can

[53:31] get into There's so many avenues than

[53:32] that. Lou once mentioned to me we were

[53:34] we were chatting about this and and and

[53:35] I asked Lou one day what he thought, you

[53:37] know, and, you know, he drew a Venn

[53:38] diagram, you know, on a on a board and,

[53:40] you you and in the middle of the Venn,

[53:41] you know, was Well, one side was

[53:42] consciousness and the other side was um,

[53:44] um

[53:45] quantum theory.

[53:47] And the shaded part in the middle, he

[53:49] said, "That's probably where this is."

[53:50] And when you think about that, what are

[53:52] the two things we really don't know all

[53:54] that much about or that, you know, could

[53:56] be extraordinarily scary? And

[53:57] consciousness, is it local or is it, you

[53:59] know, non-local?

[54:01] Uh if it's not local, uh

[54:03] you know, not produced by the brain or

[54:04] the body or the mind, it it really means

[54:06] that there is a universal consciousness

[54:08] that that we're part of, that we're

[54:09] tapping into.

[54:10] >> Then perhaps, strangest of all, there

[54:13] are multiple executives from one of the

[54:15] world's largest defense contractors,

[54:17] Lockheed Martin, who are pretty openly

[54:19] interested in very esoteric topics.

[54:23] Former head of Lockheed's Skunk Works,

[54:25] Ben Rich, who's been dubbed the father

[54:27] of stealth for his work overseeing the

[54:28] development of the F-117,

[54:31] reportedly said some wild things during

[54:34] a talk at UCLA to a former head of MUFON

[54:37] who was in the audience.

[54:39] He claims that Rich told him that if you

[54:41] want to understand UFOs and interstellar

[54:43] travel, you have to understand ESP.

[54:48] Now, though this one is interesting and

[54:50] I couldn't resist including it, it must

[54:52] go in the maybe pile with a massive

[54:54] grain of salt.

[54:56] There's reason to suspect that this

[54:58] former head of MUFON cannot be trusted

[55:01] at his word. I'm going to leave it at

[55:03] that. The late Jim Rider, VP of Lockheed

[55:06] Martin Space Systems, and former head of

[55:08] the Advanced Technology Center, and

[55:10] Charles Chase, who, according to his

[55:12] LinkedIn, was a founder and leader of

[55:15] revolutionary technology programs, and

[55:18] senior program manager at Lockheed Skunk

[55:21] Works. And here's where things get more

[55:23] specific, strange, and interesting.

[55:26] Why did the latter, Charles Chase,

[55:29] invite Professor of Religious Studies

[55:31] Dr. Jeff Kripal, who he mentioned

[55:33] earlier, to give a lecture on instances

[55:36] of human levitation at MIT. I think

[55:39] that's worth repeating. Why did the

[55:41] founder of revolutionary technologies at

[55:44] Lockheed invite a religious scholar to

[55:47] come to MIT to give a lecture on human

[55:50] levitation?

[55:51] >> His basic his basic hunch

[55:54] which I think is correct actually

[55:57] is that

[55:58] whatever

[56:00] whatever is propelling or manifesting as

[56:02] the UFO is probably involved in human

[56:04] levitation. And what Charles thought is

[56:07] he thought if I came to MIT I could talk

[56:10] to um

[56:11] the engineers and the scientists there

[56:14] and I could talk to them about human

[56:15] levitation, UFOs, and sort of make some

[56:17] sense of this. And I couldn't of course.

[56:19] I I can't make sense of it, but I I

[56:21] think they're related. You know, because

[56:24] if you listen to

[56:25] if you listen to people who encounter

[56:27] UFOs

[56:29] first of all, there's a lot of

[56:30] levitation involved.

[56:32] They'll float off their bed or there's

[56:34] also levitation involved in demonic

[56:35] possession cases and in all kinds of

[56:38] religious situations.

[56:40] Uh uh

[56:41] when Charles invited me up to MIT he was

[56:44] I think he was just exploring. He was he

[56:46] was fishing for ideas

[56:48] >> Mhm.

[56:48] >> to do obviously what he's doing now.

[56:50] >> Well, that's fascinating that uh you

[56:52] know, people that are deep inside these

[56:55] um aerospace contractors are doing all

[56:58] this research, talking to people like

[57:00] you.

[57:01] >> Yeah.

[57:01] >> He's he's a propulsion expert talking to

[57:03] a interested in a religious scholar.

[57:06] >> Yeah.

[57:07] >> Obviously, we can only guess as to

[57:09] Chase's motivations for doing this, but

[57:11] man, there are some tempting dots to

[57:13] connect. And I can already hear the

[57:14] skeptics saying, "That's just some weird

[57:17] cherry-picked one-off."

[57:19] But, it's not. There's the late Dr. Jim

[57:22] Ryder, retired vice president of

[57:24] Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and

[57:26] former head of the Advanced Technology

[57:28] Center, to say he had some esoteric

[57:30] interests

[57:32] would be a huge understatement. In fact,

[57:35] Rider gave multiple talks in which he

[57:37] not only spoke about the UFO phenomenon,

[57:39] but the idea that these beings are

[57:41] etheric from another plane of reality.

[57:44] Check out this description of one of

[57:46] those talks called The Rending of the

[57:47] Veils. Quote, "The widespread use of

[57:50] electricity on the planet will

[57:52] materially assist in the rending of the

[57:54] veil which separates the astral plane

[57:56] from the physical plane. The dividing

[57:58] etheric web will shortly be dissipated

[58:01] and the result upon humanity and upon

[58:04] the three other kingdoms of nature

[58:06] cannot be overemphasized."

[58:08] The talk itself is an incredible grab

[58:11] bag of mystical, esoteric, and new age

[58:14] ideas. He talks about everything from

[58:16] devas and fae to psychedelics and

[58:18] altered states and mystical practices as

[58:22] a means for becoming aware of these

[58:24] beings and realms. In another talk he

[58:26] gave in 2018, which was unfortunately

[58:28] the year that he passed away, a talk

[58:30] called The Garment of the Gods, he

[58:32] discusses a lot of things that sound

[58:34] straight out of Neoplatonism and

[58:37] Hermeticism. The idea that human beings

[58:39] are psychical expressions of a soul, he

[58:41] talks about light, electricity, and

[58:44] quantum theory, consciousness, and it's

[58:46] a difficult talk to summarize. To be

[58:48] completely honest with you, they both

[58:50] are because again, they are both like

[58:52] this grab bag of ideas that I'm not

[58:55] really sure what to do with. But they do

[58:58] in part at least posit that a lot of

[59:00] forces and phenomena that science deal

[59:02] with are more like momentary

[59:05] manifestations of a deeper truth about

[59:07] reality and deeper intelligences. And

[59:09] I'm sorry if this is a lot of people and

[59:11] names being introduced, but there are

[59:14] more and we're going to name more. To

[59:16] start, DeLonge also mentions two other

[59:18] people from Lockheed that he said were

[59:20] advisers. Unfortunately again, uh as far

[59:23] as I know, I don't think it's possible

[59:25] to know what we can attribute to them.

[59:27] Moving on, of course, we have to mention

[59:29] probably the most highly thought of and

[59:31] consequential whistleblower to come out

[59:34] of the modern disclosure movement, David

[59:36] Grusch. Hey, future Michael here. Just

[59:38] wanted to let you know I did record this

[59:41] pre-Grusch's most recent appearance on

[59:43] Rogan, so none of that stuff was in my

[59:46] psyche as I recorded this. Just wanted

[59:49] to let you know that going forward.

[59:51] Grusch seems to distance himself, at

[59:53] least in some cases, from the E T

[59:55] hypothesis. If you ever watch his

[59:57] congressional testimony or his

[59:58] interviews, you'll notice he sticks very

[1:00:00] closely to the term NHI.

[1:00:03] When talking about the physical craft,

[1:00:04] he'll say things like

[1:00:06] >> Uh these are retrieving non-human origin

[1:00:09] uh technical vehicles, you know, call it

[1:00:11] spacecraft, if you will. Uh it's

[1:00:13] probably not the right parlance, but

[1:00:15] uh no kidding, non-human exotic origin

[1:00:19] vehicles that have either landed or

[1:00:21] crashed.

[1:00:21] >> Again,

[1:00:22] what he means by that, we can only guess

[1:00:25] or try to infer from other things he

[1:00:27] said. Grusch did, to an extent,

[1:00:29] elaborate on his thoughts in an

[1:00:31] interview with a French newspaper in

[1:00:33] which he suggests UFOs could be coming

[1:00:36] from extra dimensions. And here's a clip

[1:00:38] of him saying the same thing.

[1:00:40] >> If you want to imagine uh 3D objects

[1:00:42] such as yourself casting a shadow onto a

[1:00:44] 2D surface, uh that's the holographic

[1:00:47] principle. So, you can be projected,

[1:00:49] quasi projected, from higher dimensional

[1:00:50] space to lower dimensional. It's a

[1:00:52] scientific trope that you can actually

[1:00:54] cross.

[1:00:54] >> Originally, the

[1:00:55] >> holographic principle was created to

[1:00:57] explain how information is encoded on an

[1:00:58] event horizon in a black hole.

[1:01:01] But like, maybe that's what we're seeing

[1:01:03] is we're seeing higher dimensional stuff

[1:01:04] casting shadow into our space, just like

[1:01:07] how we cast a shadow on a

[1:01:08] two-dimensional surface, which is like

[1:01:10] the sidewalk, right? And maybe some of

[1:01:12] the UAPs are not even

[1:01:15] they're here, but they're not actually

[1:01:16] from out there.

[1:01:17] >> All of that, I totally admit, it's a

[1:01:19] giant stretch to uh say that Grusch is

[1:01:22] any kind of esotericist or that his

[1:01:25] views fully gel with what we're

[1:01:27] proposing in this video. But, David, my

[1:01:30] man, if you're seeing this, one, I would

[1:01:32] just love to talk to you. Two, I would

[1:01:34] really love for you to reach out and

[1:01:36] tell me I'm wrong and that that

[1:01:39] you're 100% on board with where I'm

[1:01:41] going.

[1:01:42] And to be fair, Grusch regularly does

[1:01:45] talk about the physical aspects of the

[1:01:47] phenomenon, the physical craft. He

[1:01:49] speaks of highly classified UFO reverse

[1:01:52] engineering efforts and the so-called

[1:01:54] legacy program over the top of those

[1:01:56] efforts.

[1:01:57] And if you ask me to put all those

[1:01:58] puzzle pieces together, the non-physical

[1:02:01] and the physical, the extra-dimensional,

[1:02:03] the higher intelligences with these

[1:02:05] supposed reverse engineering, I just

[1:02:07] don't know. That said, I may have a

[1:02:08] nugget of explanation that I will touch

[1:02:11] on later. Now, with this next figure and

[1:02:13] this next development, this is where the

[1:02:15] connections get incredibly direct

[1:02:18] between what we were talking about in

[1:02:20] the first part of this video with these

[1:02:22] esoteric traditions and practices and

[1:02:24] the phenomenon itself. I'm talking about

[1:02:27] former Tier 1 operator Jake Barber and

[1:02:30] psionic assets. He's one of the only

[1:02:33] credible-seeming whistleblowers I'm

[1:02:35] aware of who claims to have interacted

[1:02:37] with the phenomenon both through

[1:02:39] consciousness and physically as a

[1:02:41] helicopter pilot. And this is a guy who

[1:02:43] was regularly tasked with retrieving

[1:02:46] downed objects and returning them to

[1:02:49] safety with his helicopter. And we're

[1:02:51] not talking about anomalous things here.

[1:02:53] We're talking about, you know,

[1:02:54] experimental but prosaic craft, whatever

[1:02:57] high-value target they sent him out to

[1:03:00] pick up until one day when all of that

[1:03:02] changed. Jake was given a location, just

[1:03:05] like always, but this time something was

[1:03:08] different. Everything became highly

[1:03:10] secretive and strange, and Jake

[1:03:12] eventually learned that he indeed was

[1:03:15] being sent to pick up some kind of

[1:03:17] anomalous object, some kind of UFO. But

[1:03:21] as he got closer, something really

[1:03:23] profound and incredible happened. In his

[1:03:25] own words,

[1:03:26] >> Do I and I so I just did my best to

[1:03:29] focus on

[1:03:31] my particular cues when doing this type

[1:03:33] of work and I got the load hooked up and

[1:03:35] I began flying away. And

[1:03:38] once it was just me and that object in

[1:03:41] between the pick and the drop site, it

[1:03:43] was about 20 miles in between,

[1:03:46] I felt like something was inside of me.

[1:03:48] I felt like I was possessed by the most

[1:03:53] beautiful spirit I'd ever been possessed

[1:03:56] by. And

[1:03:58] >> Was it loving?

[1:03:59] >> It was loving.

[1:04:01] Um

[1:04:02] but there was a sense of sadness at the

[1:04:04] same time.

[1:04:06] And um

[1:04:11] >> Had you ever had an experience like this

[1:04:13] before?

[1:04:13] >> No.

[1:04:14] No, it was a very feminine energy, I'll

[1:04:17] tell you that. I It felt like felt like

[1:04:20] the spirit of God, but not in any

[1:04:23] masculine sense that I'd ever felt. It

[1:04:25] was like

[1:04:26] again, the feeling of my mother.

[1:04:29] >> In the same interview, Jake claims that

[1:04:31] this is not the only time that this

[1:04:32] happened. He was able to talk about

[1:04:34] another time, but heavily hinted that

[1:04:36] there were other times that he was not

[1:04:39] allowed to talk about. And as incredible

[1:04:41] as this sounds, multiple other military

[1:04:44] personnel came forward to corroborate

[1:04:47] Jake's stories. And I think this is

[1:04:49] pretty clear from that clip, but I do

[1:04:50] think it's worth underscoring. Though

[1:04:52] Jake did interact physically with these

[1:04:55] craft, clearly he was much more

[1:04:58] interested in emphasizing the psychical

[1:05:01] component, the higher intelligence that

[1:05:03] he connected with on a soul level. But

[1:05:06] this is not where the psychical higher

[1:05:09] intelligence lore stops with Jake's

[1:05:12] story, because Jake claims that there

[1:05:15] are specialized quote psionic assets

[1:05:18] that are used to compel these craft to

[1:05:21] show up in the first place. These

[1:05:23] psionic assets are essentially specially

[1:05:25] selected and trained psychics who are

[1:05:27] able to connect with these intelligences

[1:05:29] and evoke the appearance of these craft.

[1:05:32] >> Jake says his mission that night came

[1:05:34] from no accidental crash. The UAP was

[1:05:38] summoned by a separate team, a special

[1:05:41] team with special abilities. They're

[1:05:43] called psionics.

[1:05:45] >> What is a psionic?

[1:05:47] >> A psionic

[1:05:50] person is someone with a predisposition

[1:05:53] for um extra temporal, you could say,

[1:05:57] abilities and sensitivities.

[1:05:59] >> Extra temporal abilities, also known as

[1:06:03] psychic powers.

[1:06:04] >> In the program, there was certainly a

[1:06:08] desire to explore the idea that perhaps

[1:06:12] UAP could be summoned, could be

[1:06:15] communicated with, could be controlled,

[1:06:17] and could be persuaded to land all by

[1:06:20] deploying people with uh psionic

[1:06:23] abilities.

[1:06:24] >> And did you see that happen?

[1:06:26] >> Yes, I did.

[1:06:27] >> There genuinely are people who can

[1:06:30] actually make a mental spiritual

[1:06:33] connection

[1:06:34] to a technology.

[1:06:35] >> Yes.

[1:06:36] >> As far-fetched as that sounds,

[1:06:38] particularly if you're not aware of the

[1:06:39] military-industrial

[1:06:41] complex's kind of, you know,

[1:06:42] long-standing interest in psi and

[1:06:44] psychical phenomena, Jake announced in

[1:06:47] this same interview that he would go on

[1:06:48] to form his own effort called Sky

[1:06:50] Watcher, an organization that would

[1:06:53] attempt to use these psionic assets to

[1:06:56] do exactly what he claimed they could

[1:06:58] do. Evoke the appearance of UFOs, this

[1:07:01] time in a public setting that would be

[1:07:04] captured by scientific instrumentation

[1:07:06] and cameras.

[1:07:08] Sadly, this did not really pan out to

[1:07:11] most people's satisfaction. The project

[1:07:13] just kind of fizzled out prematurely,

[1:07:15] seemingly, at least in terms of what we

[1:07:19] as the general public are aware of. But

[1:07:21] this is where all the pieces kind of

[1:07:23] come together because eventually I did

[1:07:26] have a chance to speak to one of these

[1:07:27] psionic assets on the show, and off

[1:07:29] camera I've actually spoken to several

[1:07:31] at this point. They all seem to be very

[1:07:33] spiritually plugged-in people, but the

[1:07:36] one I had on my show, James Hodgkins,

[1:07:38] specifically told me that he's been

[1:07:40] experiencing strange phenomena from a

[1:07:42] young age. And incredibly, totally

[1:07:45] separately from me, he shares an

[1:07:47] interest in Hermeticism and

[1:07:49] Neoplatonism, and he even tweeted out

[1:07:51] that exact Proclus quote that I used

[1:07:54] earlier in this episode. And now here's

[1:07:56] the piece that could potentially connect

[1:07:59] the psychical to the physical. James

[1:08:02] posited that at least some UFOs seem to

[1:08:06] materialize out of thin air, secrete

[1:08:09] into physical reality from a higher

[1:08:12] dimension or consciousness.

[1:08:14] >> With the eggs in particular, I believe

[1:08:18] that is manifesting out of something

[1:08:20] [music] else. Um I don't think they're

[1:08:22] necessarily a bunch of things that are,

[1:08:24] you know, zooming around like what was

[1:08:26] it, mundus imaginalis?

[1:08:27] >> And I think it's worth pointing out that

[1:08:28] in general it seems to me that both

[1:08:31] James and other psionic assets really

[1:08:33] seem to deemphasize the importance of

[1:08:36] the physical and emphasize the

[1:08:38] importance of the psychical. They

[1:08:41] encourage focusing on cultivating

[1:08:43] spiritual awareness, loving kindness,

[1:08:45] and are really seemingly aimed at

[1:08:47] spiritual evolution.

[1:08:49] Again, sounds more like mysticism and

[1:08:52] theurgy and esotericism than science or

[1:08:55] engineering. So if we're to believe the

[1:08:58] account of Barber and these psionic

[1:09:00] assets, these are intelligences that

[1:09:03] exist in some kind of higher plane. And

[1:09:06] it's possible to compel or at least

[1:09:09] invite this intelligence to connect with

[1:09:11] our minds

[1:09:13] and apparently visibly manifest or

[1:09:17] produce a physical object, maybe even a

[1:09:20] craft. So, at this point you're thinking

[1:09:22] one of two things. One, that this is a

[1:09:24] bridge too far. You had me up to this

[1:09:26] point, but this is where I draw the

[1:09:27] line. Or two,

[1:09:30] how is this done? How can I find out for

[1:09:32] myself if this is real?

[1:09:34] Sadly, the practicals are definitely

[1:09:36] beyond the scope of this video, and I am

[1:09:38] no expert on this topic, or nor am I

[1:09:40] experienced myself.

[1:09:43] But, I'll give you the gist. I'm not

[1:09:44] even going to touch the topic of reverse

[1:09:46] engineering theurgic practices because

[1:09:49] it comes with

[1:09:50] so

[1:09:51] so much theory and practice, not to

[1:09:54] mention lifestyle change. So,

[1:09:57] we're going to go with a modern

[1:09:58] toe-dipping version. This comes from a

[1:10:00] very adjacent, closely related practice,

[1:10:03] CE5, Steven Greer's protocol, and more

[1:10:07] specifically what they call coherent

[1:10:09] thought sequencing. So, first you enter

[1:10:11] this state of coherence. You quiet the

[1:10:14] mind. You try to, you know, really get

[1:10:17] into this connected, unified,

[1:10:19] intentional state with the whole group.

[1:10:22] Then, you transmit your location

[1:10:25] mentally. You try to provide as clear of

[1:10:28] a picture as possible. You try to

[1:10:30] imagine zooming in and out, like you're

[1:10:31] looking at yourself through a lens on a

[1:10:34] satellite or something. You imagine your

[1:10:36] body, your location, the Earth, the

[1:10:38] solar system, the galaxy, back to your

[1:10:41] exact spot.

[1:10:42] >> [music]

[1:10:42] >> You project a loving, peaceful sort of

[1:10:45] energy, the idea that you're open to

[1:10:47] contact, that you want to communicate.

[1:10:50] I'm told the emphasis is not really

[1:10:52] about the words as much as the

[1:10:54] intention, the state that you're

[1:10:55] embodying. It has nothing to do with

[1:10:57] your beliefs. It has everything to do

[1:11:00] with what state you're actually

[1:11:01] occupying. And of course, if you're

[1:11:03] doing this with a group, everybody needs

[1:11:05] to be in harmony here. Everyone needs to

[1:11:07] be focused and occupying a similar state

[1:11:10] of consciousness. I have no idea if this

[1:11:13] works. I have not experienced a

[1:11:15] successful CE5 or uh you know, psionic

[1:11:19] uh escapade myself, but I will let you

[1:11:23] know for sure if I do. Let me know in

[1:11:25] the comments what you've experienced.

[1:11:28] Okay. So, really important point here

[1:11:30] that with all of these sources, one, not

[1:11:33] only is it speculative, like I said at

[1:11:35] the beginning of this section where

[1:11:36] we're talking about people from within

[1:11:38] these classified realms, um there are a

[1:11:41] lot of other things to consider as well.

[1:11:43] One, just because these people have been

[1:11:45] on the other side of some kind of

[1:11:47] classified barrier that we can't see

[1:11:49] beyond,

[1:11:50] it doesn't mean that they're right about

[1:11:52] their conclusions. It doesn't mean that

[1:11:54] I or you, given the same information,

[1:11:57] would have the same beliefs. For

[1:12:00] instance, I've watched Jim Rider's

[1:12:01] talks, and while I think I agree with a

[1:12:03] lot of where he's going directionally, I

[1:12:06] don't find a lot of the rationale or

[1:12:08] examples he presents to be the most

[1:12:10] compelling or even honestly

[1:12:11] well-organized. But of course, take my

[1:12:14] opinion with a grain of salt and watch

[1:12:15] them for yourself. And again, let me

[1:12:17] know what you think in the comments.

[1:12:18] Two, we obviously have to keep

[1:12:21] disinformation and counterintelligence

[1:12:23] in mind here, too. These factors could

[1:12:25] always be at play when we're dealing

[1:12:27] with these organizations.

[1:12:29] There could be very real nuts-and-bolts

[1:12:31] technologies that these agents of the

[1:12:33] military-industrial complex are trying

[1:12:36] to hide with sort of esoteric red

[1:12:38] herrings.

[1:12:39] Three, and I guess 3.5, they could be

[1:12:42] inherently limited in what they're

[1:12:44] allowed to say. And if we did know those

[1:12:47] things that they're unable to say, maybe

[1:12:49] that would again change our entire

[1:12:52] feeling about the complexion of what

[1:12:53] they're saying. And the related point

[1:12:55] that I alluded to, because of what you

[1:12:57] hear all the time that all of this

[1:12:59] information is so compartmentalized,

[1:13:01] they themselves might be missing key

[1:13:04] information, which means they themselves

[1:13:06] may not be fully informed, which means

[1:13:08] they might be mistaken or misled. I've

[1:13:11] also noticed that some of these sources

[1:13:12] almost seem to contradict themselves.

[1:13:14] You know, like I pointed out before,

[1:13:16] they'll talk about things that sound

[1:13:17] very non-physical, then move straight

[1:13:19] into something physical in a way that's

[1:13:22] almost a complete non sequitur, which

[1:13:24] makes the whole thing feel pretty

[1:13:26] wobbly. And though these two things, as

[1:13:28] we were just discussing, may not be

[1:13:30] mutually exclusive, there's a lot of

[1:13:32] missing sinew there. Are the physical

[1:13:34] aspects of the phenomenon, the nuts and

[1:13:36] bolts, are they extensions of higher

[1:13:40] consciousness, like we were talking

[1:13:41] about before, or are these totally

[1:13:44] separate phenomena created by different

[1:13:46] actors that are also of unknown origin?

[1:13:48] Are they our own highly classified tech,

[1:13:50] a totally different branch of

[1:13:51] technology? What or who are the pilots,

[1:13:54] if any? The questions and the lack of

[1:13:57] answers just go on and on. Speaking of

[1:13:59] going on and on, there is so much more

[1:14:02] that we could discuss, that could

[1:14:04] connect some of these dots, but they may

[1:14:06] also just complicate everything at this

[1:14:08] point. But because I can't resist, for

[1:14:11] instance, stories about craft allegedly

[1:14:13] being piloted by consciousness, and

[1:14:16] therefore, what really needs to be

[1:14:18] reverse engineered is the pilots, not

[1:14:21] the craft. And many, many other novelty

[1:14:24] nuggets that I just didn't quite feel

[1:14:26] like fit within the scope of this video,

[1:14:28] or they were just too hard to verify, or

[1:14:30] whatever. I'm also not saying I even

[1:14:32] necessarily believe any of the

[1:14:34] individual accounts I've shared. Truly,

[1:14:37] you could probably eliminate the whole

[1:14:38] third part of this video, and it really

[1:14:41] would not change my thesis. But with

[1:14:43] that, some absolutely vital thoughts

[1:14:46] before we conclude this exploration, And

[1:14:49] two, I think we've earned a bit of

[1:14:50] summary. We've introduced so much here.

[1:14:54] Just as Plato tells us in his famous

[1:14:55] tale of the cave, the reality we

[1:14:57] perceive with our senses is not the true

[1:15:00] reality. It is the shadow of a much

[1:15:03] higher truth. It is a sensory

[1:15:05] simulation. There are deeper

[1:15:07] non-physical layers of reality populated

[1:15:09] by various orders of intelligences.

[1:15:12] Ancient esotericists, hermeticists,

[1:15:15] neoplatonic philosophers, theurgists

[1:15:17] were seemingly able to commune with

[1:15:20] these intelligences through sacred

[1:15:22] rites. These intelligences manifest as

[1:15:25] qualities of light, forms that sound

[1:15:27] eerily similar to orb-like UFO

[1:15:30] phenomenon. And it doesn't stop with

[1:15:32] just orb-like manifestations. There are

[1:15:34] the psychical elements we mentioned,

[1:15:36] communications, downloads, and insights.

[1:15:39] Highly respected more contemporary UFO

[1:15:41] researchers like Dr. J. Allen Hynek,

[1:15:43] Jacques Vallée, and John Keel came to

[1:15:45] similar conclusions about the UFO

[1:15:47] phenomenon, that it's primarily

[1:15:49] non-physical,

[1:15:51] that what we're seeing with the

[1:15:52] phenomenon are just shapeshifting masks

[1:15:55] on a deeper intelligence. Or like I said

[1:15:58] before, shadows on the cave wall of our

[1:16:00] psyches. There are also shockingly

[1:16:03] high-ranking people from within the

[1:16:05] military-industrial complex who seem to

[1:16:08] be thinking about the phenomenon in a

[1:16:09] similar way. From retired generals and

[1:16:12] colonels and hands-on operators to

[1:16:14] executives from multi-billion dollar

[1:16:16] defense contractors rumored to be

[1:16:18] involved in classified reverse

[1:16:20] engineering programs. So, to be clear,

[1:16:22] I'm not saying something as simplistic

[1:16:24] as all of the UFO phenomenon can be

[1:16:26] boiled down to one thing or one

[1:16:28] explanation. I'm not saying this

[1:16:30] categorically disproves the ET

[1:16:32] hypothesis or the idea of craft and

[1:16:35] hangars or bodies hidden somewhere. Nor

[1:16:37] am I claiming that angels and daimones

[1:16:40] and whatever else totally explain UFOs.

[1:16:43] I do argue that I think these concepts

[1:16:46] are relevant. I'm saying that this

[1:16:48] ancient way of seeing reality along with

[1:16:50] their metaphysical concepts, the idea of

[1:16:52] a layered reality populated by a panoply

[1:16:55] of intelligences, many of them subtle or

[1:16:58] totally non-physical, I think this is a

[1:17:00] much better, far more flexible map for

[1:17:03] explaining the phenomenon than modern

[1:17:05] materialism and empirical science. And

[1:17:08] I'll admit the phenomenon aspect of this

[1:17:11] does become secondary to me at a certain

[1:17:13] point because just like Plato and

[1:17:16] Socrates and the mystics were arguing

[1:17:18] for, I think the

[1:17:20] consciousness shift, the way of seeing

[1:17:22] reality that falls out of all of this is

[1:17:25] even more consequential than whatever's

[1:17:27] going on with the UFO phenomenon because

[1:17:30] it goes to the very root of our being,

[1:17:31] what we're doing here, reality itself.

[1:17:34] If this is even directionally accurate,

[1:17:36] it means that reality is filled with

[1:17:38] consciousness, filled with meaning,

[1:17:40] intelligence, and vital energy. And that

[1:17:43] we are multi-dimensional beings that are

[1:17:45] far more than our physical bodies. That

[1:17:47] the physical world we perceive with our

[1:17:49] senses is only the tip of the great

[1:17:51] mysteries iceberg. And I acknowledge I'm

[1:17:54] posting this big thesis statement at

[1:17:56] sort of an interesting time because it's

[1:17:58] possible I could be proven wrong or at

[1:18:00] least partially wrong in a pretty short

[1:18:03] order with all of these government

[1:18:05] disclosures occurring. But

[1:18:07] I haven't been impressed so far, so

[1:18:10] I don't think I will be.

[1:18:12] And as Peter Levenda said to me,

[1:18:13] >> Let's say a government functionary comes

[1:18:15] out and says,

[1:18:17] "We are not alone in the universe. There

[1:18:18] are aliens.

[1:18:20] Um we have craft. We have bodies."

[1:18:22] What's the question everybody starts

[1:18:24] asking after that? There is no one

[1:18:25] question. Everybody freaks out. Is there

[1:18:28] a god? Are there angels? Are there

[1:18:29] demons? What planet did they come from?

[1:18:31] Do we have an agreement with them? How

[1:18:32] many of them are there? Where do they

[1:18:33] come from? Can we find them? What All

[1:18:35] these things are going to Those are the

[1:18:36] cons, right? They can't answer these

[1:18:38] questions. I'm sure they can.

[1:18:39] >> Was that a lot? Did that make sense? Uh

[1:18:42] it felt like a lot to me. It certainly

[1:18:44] was a rather uh girthy undertaking. If

[1:18:47] you made it this far, you got to tickle

[1:18:49] the algorithm, my friend. Like,

[1:19:07] this way of seeing explain the

[1:19:09] phenomenon better than the modern maps

[1:19:11] that everyone is using? Do you think I'm

[1:19:13] wrong, totally off base, insane? Let me

[1:19:17] know. I do love you all, and I will see

The esoteric UFO hypothesis, as presented in the Third Eye Drops video, holds that UFO phenomena are best understood through esoteric frameworks rather than purely physical ones. It links Plato's cave, the ancient practice of theurgy, and the accounts of modern ufologists like J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallée into one pattern of light, intelligence, and mind-to-mind contact. The video presents this as a framework to consider, not a proven conclusion.
Plato's cave, told by Socrates to Glaucon in the Republic, describes prisoners chained to face a wall where they see only shadows cast by objects carried behind them. The video uses the story as a metaphor for perception: what we take as reality may be a partial shadow of something deeper. It then applies that metaphor to UFO witnesses who encounter phenomena that seem to exceed ordinary physical explanation.
The video describes theurgy as a mysterious ancient ritual practice aimed at encounters with higher intelligences. According to the host, practitioners reported luminous manifestations, orbs, a soul vehicle sometimes called the ochema-pneuma or astral light body, and telepathic downloads of teaching. The video argues these reports resemble modern UFO encounters, though it treats that comparison as an interpretive claim rather than historical proof.
The video summarizes cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman as arguing that the world we perceive is like a VR headset worn by consciousness, an evolutionarily convenient interface that helps us survive rather than showing reality as it is. The host pairs this with John Wheeler's 1989 'it from bit' idea that physical things derive their meaning from informational yes-or-no acts. Together they form the scientific half of the video's argument.
The video identifies J. Allen Hynek as an astrophysicist who, in Evanston, Illinois, in 1965, accepted that the UFO phenomenon was real but far stranger than flying saucers. He saw it as category-defying and shape-shifting, and experiencers in his cases described it communicating with them through the mind. The video treats this shift as a key moment when UFO research began to move toward esoteric explanations.
The video describes claims of classified programs that developed techniques to call the phenomenon in psychically, and it draws on whistleblower testimony connected to Grusch. These are claims presented in the video, not verified findings, and the host himself keeps some distance from the most speculative readings. Viewers should treat the classified-program material as unconfirmed testimony rather than established fact.
Start with Plato's Republic for the cave passage, then Wheeler's 1989 essay on 'it from bit,' which the host quotes directly. For ufology, the video names Jacques Vallée's Passport to Magonia, and the writings of Hynek and John Keel show how those researchers framed the phenomenon themselves. Pairing these with Donald Hoffman's work on perception lets you check each step of the argument against its original source.
