説明
The Internal Family Systems Immersion Retreat is a five-night healing retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in the heart of the Berkshires. It is an experiential introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory and technique, led by Dr. Alexia Rothman, a certified IFS lead trainer. It is open to therapists and non-therapists alike, and it suits anyone new to the model who wants both a solid grounding and a direct experience of their own inner world.
What to Expect
IFS is a compassion-based, empirically validated approach to therapy, and this retreat teaches it from the inside. You will look at your own internal system through the lens of multiplicity, the idea that we are made up of many parts. You will also spend time connecting with the parts of you that have taken on protective roles.
The program mixes teaching with lived practice. You can observe and volunteer for live IFS therapy demonstrations, take part in guided experiences that invite connection with your internal world, and practice techniques meant to help you reach your inner wisdom and healing energy. Therapists will also learn how to apply IFS theory and techniques in their clinical practice.
The days follow a steady rhythm. Arrival day begins with check-in at 2:00 pm, then a Kripalu Yoga class, dinner, and an evening program session from 7:30 to 9:00. Each full day starts with yoga from 6:30 to 7:45 am and a silent breakfast, followed by a program session from 9:00 to 11:30. After lunch comes a second session from 1:30 to 4:00, then evening yoga at 4:45 and dinner. That leaves real time between sessions for meals, conversation with other participants, and walks in the surrounding nature. On the final morning there is yoga, silent breakfast, and a program session from 9:00 to 11:00, with lunch and departure after.

The Setting
Kripalu sits in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, and its grounds are open to you throughout your stay. Accommodations are intentionally simple, designed to help you unplug and feel grounded. You can choose a private single-occupancy room or a community-style dorm, which fosters connection among participants. Rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, and a luggage room is available if you arrive earlier.
Three meals a day are included, and breakfasts are taken in silence. On the day of departure, room check-out is at 10:00 am, and you may stay on campus and take part in workshops until 2:00 pm.
Before You Go
No prior IFS experience is required. The retreat is designed for beginners to intermediate students and is taught in English. Your stay includes more than ten yoga classes over the retreat, three nutritious meals a day, all program sessions and demonstrations, the guided IFS explorations, accommodations, and access to the Kripalu grounds and facilities.
Healing Arts sessions and items from the Kripalu Shop and Cafe are available for separate purchase. Travel to and from Kripalu is not included. Actual times may vary, so check the schedule provided at check-in for details and room locations.
